Piers Morgan Admits He Wants UK-Style Gun Ban in the States

By Matt Hadro | May 03, 2013 | 11:33

A  A

For the second time on Piers Morgan's CNN show, Breitbart's Ben Shapiro got the better of his host as on Thursday he goaded Morgan into calling for a British-style handgun ban in the U.S.

"You're from the UK, why don't we go with a full gun ban?" Shapiro challenged Morgan, who, audibly flustered, admitted, "Listen, we've discussed this. The UK has 40, 50 gun murders a year, America has 12,000. Why don't we try our way?" He then promptly switched the topic. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Despite CNN's Gun Control Advocacy, Polls Show Drop In Support

By Matt Vespa | January 17, 2013 | 16:48

A  A

Despite CNN waging a crusade for gun control over the past month, and host Piers Morgan drawing attention with his incessant activism and bullying of his opponents on the gun issue, CNN’s own poll shows that support for some gun control measures has dropped over the past month.

CNN.com reported on its poll Wednesday: "According to the survey, 56% support a ban on semi-automatic guns, but that's down from 62% in a CNN poll taken in the days after the shooting at Sandy Hook. The same is true for a ban on high-capacity ammunition clips - 62% in December, down to 58% now - as well as a requirement for all gun owners to register their firearms with the local government - 78% last month, down to 69% now."

CNN Slashes Piers Morgan-Ben Shapiro Segments While Posting Host's Entire Clash With Angry Advocate of Gun Rights

By Randy Hall | January 15, 2013 | 10:30

A  A

It's obvious that the people working for CNN consider supporters of gun control to be calm and rational while gun rights proponents are hostile and wild-eyed.

The cable news network provided proof of this viewpoint when it posted only half of weeknight host Piers Morgan's debate with Breitbart.com editor Ben Shapiro but provided the entire wild interview with Alex Jones, the Austin, Texas, man who started an online petition to deport Morgan back to his native England because of his attacks on the Second Amendment.

Piers Morgan Sneers At Conservative Guest Citing Constitution; 'You Brandish Your Little Book'

By Matt Hadro | January 11, 2013 | 12:00

A  A

When Breitbart.com's Ben Shapiro used his pocket-sized copy of the U.S. Constitution on the set of Piers Morgan Tonight, CNN's Piers Morgan asserted that he, like the NRA, was deviously trying to frame gun control as an assault on the Second Amendment.

"You come in. You brandish your little book as if I don't know what's in there," Morgan sneered. "My little book? That's the Constitution of the United States. Our founding document, Piers," Shapiro shot back. [Video below the break. Audio here.]

Breitbart Editor Accuses Piers Morgan of 'Standing on the Graves of the Children of Sandy Hook'

By Noel Sheppard | January 10, 2013 | 23:54

A  A

CNN's Piers Morgan, after weeks of abusing guests that don't agree with him about imposing tighter gun restrictions in the wake of the Newton, Connecticut, massacre, finally got what was coming to him Thursday.

At the beginning of another highly contentious interview on Piers Morgan Tonight, Breitbart.com editor Ben Shapiro told his arrogant host, "You tend to demonize people who differ from you politically by standing on the graves of the children of Sandy Hook saying they don't seem to care enough about the dead kids" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

Breitbart's Shapiro Argues Even with 'Jerusalem' Re-added to Platform, Dems Have Gutted Pro-Israel Language From Document

By Ken Shepherd | September 07, 2012 | 02:50

A  A

While the liberal media have noted how little foreign policy was raised at the GOP convention and will surely play up President Obama's attacks on Republican opponent Mitt Romney as being weak on that issue portfolio, it's noteworthy how little media attention is being given to the Democratic Party's views on America's most reliable, democratic ally in the Middle East, Israel.

Even as Democrats on Wednesday afternoon hastily re-added language about Jerusalem being the capital of Israel to their party platform, the document is hardly as pro-Israel as its 2008 iteration, Ben Shapiro of Breitbart's Big Government site noted in a September 6 post. "[T]he full language of the 2008 platform is still gone, Shapiro noted, before quoting the 2008 document's Israel plank and then explaining that:

Hollywood: Driving the Homosexual Agenda for 40 Years

By Paul Wilson | May 10, 2012 | 15:00

A  A

Hollywood celebrities exuberantly celebrated President Obama’s recent declaration of support for gay marriage. But Hollywood did not have to come out of the closet and support homosexuality – it has long used its influence to purposely swing public opinion in favor of homosexuality.

For several decades, Hollywood has shown its overt support for homosexuality. Brokeback Mountain was nominated for Best Picture for its unabashedly sympathetic portrayal of a doomed gay relationship. Newt Gingrich’s half-sister officiated at a gay wedding on “Friends” in the 1990s. More recently, late night talk show host Conan O’Brian officiated at an actual gay wedding.

Bozell Column: Exposing the Hollywood 'Clique'

By Brent Bozell | June 04, 2011 | 08:02

A  A

Born blocks from the NBC soundstage in 1984 to parents in the entertainment industry, Ben Shapiro is a natural choice to write a book about Hollywood. For his new book "Primetime Propaganda," Shapiro has studied decades of television content and interviewed a bevy of powerful Hollywood producers to document the degree to which they have created a political and cultural revolution of permissive leftism.

The project gets off to a harsh start. In his introduction, Shapiro attacks "traditional" TV critics on the cultural right for being "worse than useless," suggesting some unnamed conservatives are insisting TV should not be watched. “When conservatives treat television as the Golden Calf, they leave no choice but to lay low the unbelievers -- and most of us continue to continue occasionally glancing at the offending cow."

Book Review: 'How Hollywood Uses TV To Brainwash Our Children'

By Kathleen McKinley | June 02, 2011 | 13:41

A  A

That may sound like an overblown title, but if you read Ben Shapiro's new book, "Primetime Propaganda, The True Hollywood Story Of How The Left Took Over Your  TV," you will see it isn't overblown in the least. Ben doesn't just speculate here. He goes to the source.

He interviews the movers and the shakers of Hollywood who admit their own bias and their own agenda. You may have heard Ben's interview with Glenn Beck this morning. Glenn asked him how he got access to these big wigs. Ben said it was because of his last name (Jewish) and the fact that he went to Harvard. They just assumed he was "one of them." The few that did bother to google Ben, declined to be interviewed. So, this fascinating book takes us into the minds of the people who bring television into our home. They clearly state how they want to influence our kids with their political views.

New Book 'Primetime Propaganda' Documents How Left Controls Hollywood

By Aubrey Vaughan | May 31, 2011 | 16:25

A  A

Hollywood liberals consistently deny that they "blacklist" conservatives, or that center-right political views are routinely and overtly excluded from the entertainment industry's collective voice. But in a strong riposte, Ben Shapiro's new book, "Primetime Propaganda: The True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV", provides extensive documentation on Hollywood's political clout, demonstrating the crippling hand the entertainment industry has in pushing Americans to readily accept its left-wing agenda as a truthful reality.

It's no secret that Hollywood discriminates against conservative actors, but Shapiro works to expose a different problem: the concerted efforts by entertainment industry executives to shape Americans into Hollywood's liberal mold. After interviewing over one hundred Hollywood kingpins, Shapiro found that not only will they readily admit that Hollywood has a strict anti-conservative agenda, but further, that many of their TV shows have underlying political messages meant to influence the way their audiences think.
