Changing America
Dr. Thomas Sowell, in "Dismantling America," said in reference to President Obama, "That such an administration could be elected in the first place, headed by a man whose only qualifications to be president of the United States at a dangerous time in the history of the world were rhetoric, style and symbolism — and whose animus against the values and institutions of America had been demonstrated repeatedly over a period of decades beforehand — speaks volumes about the inadequacies of our educational system and the degeneration of our culture." Obama is by no means unique; his characteristics are shared by other Americans, but what is unique is that no other time in our history would such a person been elected president. That says a lot about the degeneration of our culture, values, thinking abilities and acceptance of what's no less than tyranny. As Sowell says, "Barack Obama is unlike any other President of the United States in having come from a background of decades of associations and alliances with people who resent this country and its people." In 2008, Americans voted for Obama's change. Let's look at some of it.
Obama's Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius threatened that there would be "zero tolerance" for "misinformation" in response to an insurance company executive who said that ObamaCare would create costs that force up health insurance premiums. That's not only an attack on our constitutionally guaranteed free speech rights but an official threat against people who express views damaging to the administration.
Not to be outdone by his HHS secretary's attack on free speech, Obama wants full disclosure of the names of people who were backers of campaign commercials critical of his administration, saying that there has been a "flood of deceptive attack ads sponsored by special interests, using front groups with misleading names." Disclosure would leave administration critics open to government and mob retaliation.
Obama and his congressional and union allies have lectured us that socialized medicine is the cure for the nation's ills, but I have a question. If socialized medicine, Obamacare, is so great for the nation, why permit anyone to be exempted from it? It turns out that as of the end of November, Obama's Health and Human Services secretary has issued over 200 waivers to major labor unions such as the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union and Transport Workers Union of America and major companies such as McDonald's and Darden Restaurants, which operates Red Lobster and Olive Garden. Keep in mind that the power to grant waivers is also the power not to grant waivers. Such power can be used to reward administration friends and punish administration critics by saddling them with millions of dollars of health care costs.
Obama's heath care legislation contains deviousness that has become all too common in Washington. What was sold to the American people as health care reform legislation includes a provision that would more heavily regulate and tax gold coin and bullion transactions. Whether gold and bullion transactions should or should not be more heavily regulated and taxed is not the issue. The administration's devious inclusion of it as a part of health care reform is.
Fighting government intrusion into our lives is becoming increasingly difficult for at least two reasons. The first reason is that educators at the primary, secondary and university levels have been successful in teaching our youngsters to despise the values of our Constitution and the founders of our nation — "those dead, old, racist white men." Their success in that arena might explain why educators have been unable to get our youngsters to read, write and compute on a level comparable with other developed nations; they are too busy proselytizing students.
The second reason is we've become a nation of thieves, accustomed to living at the expense of one another and to accommodate that we're obliged to support tyrannical and overreaching government.
Adolf Hitler had it right when he said, "How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think."

When I was in high school, Joseph McCarthy was portrayed to us as a paranoid idiot. Now I'm thinking..uh.. maybe not. In hind sight, every enemy of the left is first and foremost branded an idiot; Reagan, Bush, Palin, Bachman, and so on. As far as the left is concerned, to believe in America and its people is to be an idiot, to be a hate-filled, name-calling, socialist with a degree in multi-culti justice is the apex of intelligence. I think McCarthy was justified in his worry.
McCarthy was wrong!

He identified many communists working within the US government. When the KGB records were released in the 1990's, we found out just how wrong McCarthy was. The ones he ID'ed were REALLY communists!
He was wrong because of the number of communists that he failed to identify according to the KGB! They were still around for many years to do damage to this nation.
He was vilified by the Left to shut him up. Same tactic they use today. The Attorney General of VA is about to find out. They've already started on him since the court ruled against the Obambi Healthcare bill.
Another brilliant article

from a great man about another great man.
Dr. Sowell has in my opinion always nailed it every time he speaks. More so now that we have the admin we do.
The outright lies, the lack of transparency and the continual spending behind the curtains has got to stop. November should have told congress something, but Reid, Pelosi and the remaining liberal ilk are still bound and determined to undermine the US and it's people.
I like Walter, but he is a bit wrong here.

The idea we 'don't think' is not correct and belies a bit of disappointment with the people.
Yeah, Sarah Palin is a Lighting Rod for the Left. And I might add, the MSM to that list.
But, Walter - we are not all blessed with your soapbox.

How we play this game
Submitted by KC Mulville on Wed, 12/15/2010 - 10:04am.
Back in their day, when your football team went into Oakland, you knew what to expect. They were going to hit you. They played smash mouth football, and they took chances. They threw deep. And if they missed, they didn't care - they threw deep again. When you went into Dallas, you were going to get something different. It was a different style, a different feel. Different teams played the game in different ways.
For over 200 years, America was extremely successful. Our constitution was designed for self-motivated people. Our design was for individuals to pursue their own happiness, and government was just a necessary expense. The people who designed our government were living at a time when capitalism was advancing as an economic theory. John Locke had been promoting his ideas. Rousseau was popular. America was still a colony where the real power was a long journey distant. The reigning theory was that of the Invisible Hand. That is, you didn't need to strive for communal happiness. If you pursued your own happiness, individually, the community would naturally benefit and achieve happiness anyway.
America plays individualism. We play capitalism. We play the game so that individuals pursue their happiness first. We leave it to individuals to contribute to charity, and for most of our 200 years, individuals contributed more than enough to suffice.
But somewhere along the way, some of our players stopped playing the game that way. They were afraid that individuals would pursue their own greed. They stopped believing in the Invisible Hand, and retreated to the idea that government would assure charity. We are designed to play capitalism and individualism, but Obama and the liberal Left are players who don't play that way. They want to change the design. They want to spread the wealth ... before we make it. They don't trust America to take care of its own, so they're going to take our money first, before we pursue our own wealth.
They don't know how to play this game. Certainly not in the American way.
Excellent, KC.

I'm not as charitable as you toward these rat bastard nazi SOB's, however.
I believe that they understand exactly what they are about, and it is to "fundamentally change" this game to another sport. They're not teaching a new form of democracy. They want to change this game into a Fascist government.
I think we make a mistake by saying that they are just misguided and really don't mean to destroy this country. I believe that they know, and have known for many years, exactly what they are doing.
All conspiracies ain't theory.
Thanks

Frankly, to me, it doesn't matter why they're playing a different game. The minute we see that they're not playing the game in the American way, it's a problem. And they're the ones who have to change. Let's be clear: our constitution is designed in a certain way. To try and wiggle out of that design so that you can become European, or more like other countries, is to violate the agreement we consented to. We never agreed to become non-American!

I like that a lot. "We never agreed to become non-Americans". Very true, the part that enrages me is the fact that our politicians, media, academia are not getting the message and it's going to make things get ugly. I wish it weren't so but I feel it's almost a guarantee at this point. The 1.1 Trillion dollar Omnibus and the fact that I guess even first ladies are authoring bills now in the name of "the li'l childrens" (I guess I missed the part of the Constitution where we've authorized first ladies..ahem.. to make policy) are two examples in just the past two days that prove to me that the people will eventually "push back".
