Daily Kos Week in Review: He Drives Them Crazy

By Tom Johnson | March 10, 2012 | 08:05

A  A

We lead this week with perhaps the most severe case of Santorum Derangement Syndrome ever exhibited on DKos. Elsewhere, Kossacks unsurprisingly insisted that Republicans, Santorum included, are the real loonies, and dopes to boot.

As usual, each headline is preceded by the blogger's name or pseudonym.

Seraphiel: Santorum may not even be human...

...Sometimes...we encounter a being so consumed by its basest atavistic impulses that we're forced to wonder if it's truly a human capable of thought and emotion, or merely a human-shaped animal guided by a reptile brain...

...Huge portions of his stump speech are devoted to building a massive, throbbing strawman out of what Obama "thinks" and "feels," and the rest of the speech is spent fellating that straw man with more gusto and fervor than any glory hole queen could muster...

He thinks gay people should be gathered up and incinerated...

He will, at the first opportunity, remove the actual Constitution from the National Archives and use it to wipe his ass while he grips the Declaration of Independence around what passes for his dick and furiously masturbates on the Statue of Liberty's face...

farleftyguy: ...and his candidacy proves he's nuts

...The fact that Santorum actually thinks he can win is proof that he’s unfit for any public office because his judgment is delusional. The truth is that this is a guy whose ideas are shared by the aforementioned fringe who see the face of Jesus Christ in their high fructose-corn-imitation-maple syrup on their morning waffles and that God spoke personally to Jesus, the Pope, Martin Luther, and tens of others giving them the word that abortion, Trojans, and the morning after pill pisses him off something fierce so no one should be allowed to have them...

One Pissed Off Liberal: I was wrong -- conservatives really are stupid

I used to reject the argument that rightwingerism is largely a function of intelligence, or more to the point, of lower intelligence...

Cut to the tragi-comic Republican primar[ies]...At such a moment as this...the truth is painfully obvious: those on the right are the absolute dumbasses of our world...the walking dumb. They're the ones in whom the conservative dumbing-down policies of the past few decades actually took...

I used to think the Republican dumb-down plan for America was about having plenty of workers smart enough to do their jobs but not smart enough to wonder why. Now I think it may be more about self-preservation. Without a steady supply of dumbasses the Republican Party would dry up and blow away...

chaunceydevega: Republicans practice suicide-bomber politics...

...The coarseness of the political rhetoric in the Age of Obama, and the Republican Party’s embrace of the most fringe elements of the Right-wing imagination, is largely driven by a desire to protect conservative white manhood and masculinity at any cost.

For them, American civilization is inseparably and irrevocably tied to whiteness, and a very narrow, “traditional” understanding of what is means to be a “man.” Therefore, by this calculus, the suicide bomber politics of the contemporary Republican Party are not insane—rather, they are the necessary and desperate actions of a people who believe that they are facing demographic suicide...

MBNYC: ...and are fit for a mental hospital

...I would argue that at this point, the GOP is at the same stage as the very late USSR: when single failures or even strategic retreats can no longer be managed one by one, but coalesce into larger problems, much as a snowball can be stopped easily when it starts rolling down a hill, until it becomes the avalanche that buries the village...

...This country cannot prosper if one of its two great parties checks itself into a lunatic asylum of its own making...

chaunceydevega has the money

Submitted by motherbelt on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 9:12am.

chaunceydevega has the money quote.

That he can talk about the "coarseness of rhetoric" while occupying the same location as the vomit from Seraphiel is just mind-boggling.

BTW, are there any liberals capable of making an argument, or even framing a metaphor without revolting sexual and scatological references?

Yes, that's a rhetorical question.

Showing 5 or 6 comments by bloggers isn't an accurate representation of the website as a whole. All sites have their share of ignorant degenerates whose comments remain unchecked, and this is no different.

Feel free to link something, anything, to prove an 'accurate representation' of that site isn't sheer, raving lunacy.

Let's take farleftguy's diary. It received 1 response. Hardly a show of support for this guy's rant.

Decline and Fall doesn't even mention Santorum's name so I don't know why it's included in this column.

Do I need to dig up some disturbing comments by news buster posters today to compare?

I'd actually say this is a fair representation of the site. In all honesty, it doesn't quite go far enough in highlighting the disconnect from reality and vulgarity of the average post. I can say this because I regularly read the site to see what the nutty left is focusing on and to enjoy the three ring circus run by asylum rejects.

Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity to name just a few.

Why do you think Liberals are crazier now than they have ever been in the past?

It is because of something called the "alternative" media which includes Fox News, Talk Radio and certain sites on the internet including this one and The Drudge Report!

Jack Nicholson said it best, "They can't handle the truth!".

leftwing causes! Wow, that is real dumb.

Santorum went ga ga over Liberal Arlen Spector, voted for funding left wing causes like Planned Parenthood and voted to superfund the leftists running the Dept of Education.

How many more left wingers would Santorum have on his record as having campaigned for ( Spector, Todd Whitman: two biggies of the left wing bent).
http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/Santorum-Haunted-Pro-abortion-Specter...

How many more leftwing bills could this Pennsylvania liberal senator have possibly voted for while in the US senate before the loopy right sees him for what he truly is - a fake running on rhetoric and hoping the record doesn't catch up to him and knock him down?

You put a scary leftwinger in the White House and all of a sudden anyone running can call himself "conservative" and not have to prove it. Throw out a few religious bones to the pew warmers and get the leftwing media attacking you for being "too conservative" and all of a sudden you're labelled "conservative" without having earned it by your actions and your votes in congress.

The tea has gotten cold and rancid and the Tea Party has long abondoned its announced core principles of less government and lower taxes by pitching in with Romney, Gingrich and Santorum, the three amigos of socialist politics.

America's hope for salvation lies in the States. If congress sees new blood from bonafide conservatives we may hold on to our freedom.
