Food TV Host Marvels: Michelle Obama's the 'Most Humanistic, Charismatic, Caring' Person
Michelle Obama’s showing up on yet another cable reality show, and once again TV Guide is kissing her ring. The new June 11-17 issue carries the headline “A First-class First Lady.” Reporter Oriana Schwindt said the Food Network’s “Restaurant Impossible” will make a new dining room, kitchen and garden for the charity Horton’s Kids in the poor Anacostia neighborhood in Washington, DC, and Michelle came for a few hours to supervise and make her latest cameo.
“I’ve worked for different presidents,” said the program’s host Robert Irvine, “but forget politics – this lady is one of the most humanistic, charismatic, caring people I’ve ever met.” TV Guide wasn’t done:
“She spoke to every child, every worker, every mother,” marvels Irvine, “and didn’t leave, even when she was being pulled left, right, and center by aides and Secret Service.”
If you believe Michelle Obama is just yanked around by the Secret Service like she’s a rag doll, you might also believe she’s one of the most magical people you could ever come across.
The First Lady has made more than 44 cameo TV appearances since moving to the White House. Her Food Network appearance premieres on June 13 at 10 pm/ 9 central.
PS: The Braiser blog says Irvine is not telling the truth when he says he's worked for presidents.

Humane is a word of praise. Humanistic sounds like something Margaret Sanger would say. Of course concerning Michelle Obama, Sanger would use the word "inferior".

Dave, I'm ticked off at the entire FN, not only for their sucking up to the WH, ...remember their "Iron Chef" challenge with vegetables from the White House garden??? (which, BTW, weren't really)..... but their whole politically correct "going green" crap.
They send a 15 contestants to Whole Foods (of course) and they all come out with a dozen each cloth grocery bags is Whole Foods giving them away now??? The whole point about the bags is to reuse them. Does anyone think FN is "reusing" them? But they sure look "correct."
The hosts now make a big deal about putting their peelings etc. in a "compost bin." The paper towels are all brown.
Give me a break! The only thing they're missing is a show about making meals cooked with solar power...you know, frying the egg on the sidewalk LOL.... to save energy
The entire FN is in the tank for the Obamas.

While i'm generally with ya on this, i'm a little confused by the whole foods comment "Whole Foods (of course)"... Have you read this Op-Ed by the co-founder, CEO, and former Chairman of WF? Op-Ed
I remember hearing that Mackey caught a lot of flak over that, but it reads like a conservative manifesto for healthcare (i.e., intelligent, well thought out, practical).
As he ends the editorial; "We are all responsible for our own lives and our own health. We should take that responsibility very seriously and use our freedom to make wise lifestyle choices that will protect our health. Doing so will enrich our lives and will help create a vibrant and sustainable American society."
Mackey is a libertarian.
I think FN has some conservatives, as well, we only hear about the liberals, because they are the vocal butt-kissers. But they are a successful channel, capitalists at their best. They may compost and recycle, and stress healthy food at times, but really, i still see FAR more unhealthy food on the channel, after all, it's hard to make anything that tastes good without lots of salt and butter and rib-eye, IMHO ;-)
Anyway, just wanted to call out that Whole Foods isn't a bastion of liberal politicos trying to force Bloomberg style legislation nationally.
i don't know about Irvine... i'm surprised by the comment.

And it's not just FN that is bowing down to the Democrats, I might add.
Last Season's Top Chef (Bravo) was in DC.....Nanny Pelosi showed up, and they did an episode with Panetta.

He claims to be Knight, and have a castle. He has neither.
He claims to have worked at the White House. That’s not true either. He still claims to have trained Navy Chefs there. He won’t comment on what he did or did not do at the WH; because “it’s the White House."
He claims to have a degree from Leeds University. He doesn’t.
He claims to have worked on the cake for Diana and Charles wedding. Seems to be not true, as he admits to “picking fruits and things.” Earlier he claimed to have done the icing that showed the history of the Monarchy.
His “Five Star Diamond Award?” Bought and paid for; from himself.

I've had in mind for a long time the idea to go through all the magazines published since Barack Obama entered the public eye in about 2006* and count the number of times he and/or Michelle have gotten a cover story. The only problem is, I'm a very busy man and and I can think of about a thousand ways I'd rather spend my time than wading through all that hollow glurge. Hitting myself in the family jewels with a tack hammer, for example.
I do wonder if anyone has already had this idea and taken it upon themselves to actually explore it. (The magazine thing, not the hammer to the manbits thing.)
* Though one supposes I could reduce the number by setting a cut-off point, maybe even restricting it to the period he's been in office, but I don't think it would help all that much.

Submitted by Semus on Sun, 06/10/2012 - 3:01am.
I'll give Mr. Irvine the benifit of the doubt. He is or was a British subject and therefore may have socialistic tendencies because that's all he knows. I also understand that all he knows or cares to know about the Obama's is the MSM filtered version and what his bosses at Food Network want him to know. They seem to have a close relationship with this adminstration. If Mr. Irvine believes what he's stated about Michelle he's not living in reality.
I wonder if Mr. Irvine is at all curious why Obama sent the bust of Churchill back to England? Then again maybe he doesn't think it's important. It's important and what's more what it symbolizes is more important. For one thing I don't think he had any right to send it back because It wasn't his to send back. Our President isn't one to let the rule of law get in his way. Another reason in short his disdain for England because of her history and where the Obama's loyalties really are. One last question why is Obama turning his back on all of our allies and embracing all of our enemies and Englands for that matter?
I suggest Irvine do a little or a lot of reading, read about what Mr. Obama has done both at home and abroad. There's no ambivalance his goals are clear all you have to do is look pay attention and remember. I believe there are reasons why the records are sealed. If Mr. Irvine doesn't care about things like this that's fine. If it's one thing this Administration likes is ignorant people or unscrupulous people. You've probably lost a lot of fans with your courageous statement but I'm certain of one.

In fact, that has always been one of my major complaints with ideologues of the Left and the Right: Both sides believe they are uniquely invested with, and possess an exclusive license for the dissemination of, the Truth.
Now, a further note regarding Shy's whine about my "feigned outrage" at being called out, etc. It is neither "outrage" nor is it "feigned". The simple fact is this: I am not bal. I am not a turn-the-other-cheek lib. That is not a criticism of bal. I not only admire but actually envy his capacity to casually brush aside the shit that is continually dealt to him. Maybe it's just different wiring. But when someone--well, let's use the current Semus example--classifies me as a "completely incurious nincompoop or an unscrupulous Useful Idiot", I reserve and will often exercise the right to counterpunch.
Thanks for the congrats. It's been an interesting five years, to say the least.

That said, you get shit from conservatives here for the very same reason bal catches shit - and it ain't because of the following:
"Both sides believe they are uniquely invested with, and possess an exclusive license for the dissemination of, the Truth."
That references ideology, and while ideology should not be discounted as often being a reasonable base of operations - to see the absolute nastiness evinced by the likes of Michelle Obama; the utterly undeserved and irredeemable arrogance coupled with asinine ineptness exhibited by the pos in the Oval Office - not only played down at a minimum or more often completely ignored by the media and the exact opposite trumpeted by ass-kising, fawning dolts, insults my intelligence.
I have no respect for anyone who buys into, supports, defends or is part of the herd led by these f**king worthless grifters - whether bound to them by ideology or stupidity..

I have no doubt that she is 'humanistic.'
