Stephen Colbert Sings for Votes

MRC-TV captured video of a Stephen Colbert event in South Carolina where he sang "This Little Light of Mine"  with a gospel choir. Which message does this send? Does this send a Christian message? Or is it much more likely that Colbert is using this Christian song as a typical rock for his character's bottomless pit of self-regard? Perhaps he's just being an entertainer.

The video also features a nice version of the national anthem, although Colbert gets a little goofy with a bass line near the end. Are you charmed or annoyed? Video below:

Am I charmed or annoyed?

Neither.  I'm not interested in anything Stephen Colbert does.

He's harmless

He makes people laugh and it's hard to take anything he says seriously. Much of it doesn't make sense.

A slam against Obama

"Which message does this send?"

It sends a message to the "Crooner in Chief" Obama that Colbert thought he was a joke as well.

The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States. The US Constitution

Unless you're a fetus. The US Supreme Court

Or Anwar al-Awlaki.

This is not funny*

Submitted by cajun2 on Sun, 01/22/2012 - 6:37pm.

The election process is important to all Americans.  It is what separates us from many socialists and dictatorial governments around the world.  WE choose our representatives who will best serve the people and respect our constitution.  We have not always done that well but it is still the best system in the world.   Colbert is not the first to mock our system and our American values and I do not find him funny when we sit on the precipice of dangerous  precedents  in our country.
