On 'Morning Joe', Sharpton Upbraids Santorum for Saying 'Despicable and Ugly Things' About Obama

Is there anything more ridiculous than being accused of saying “despicable and ugly things” by...Al Sharpton? On Thursday’s Morning Joe, MSNBC brought in Sharpton as part of a tag-team interview with presidential candidate Rick Santorum. Isn't Sharpton a little too sharp-elbowed for the so-called civility squad at Morning Joe?

“I could argue with you about some of your ugly statements on the president and all of that, but that would probably help you in the primary if you and I got into an argument this morning,” Sharpton blustered. “Go ahead, Al. Give it to me, Al,” Santorum replied with a jovial smile.

“Well, you said some despicable and ugly things, but we‘ll do that on ’Politics Nation’ one night, don’t let me help you win the caucus,” Sharpton said. There were no specifics. But it couldn't have matched Sharpton's historic, despicable lows. (I'd bet on Santorum hitting Obama with how it's "remarkable for a black man" to support abortion.)

Like any liberal, Sharpton had to try and pin Santorum for being too anti-government to be allowed to serve in government. It's an "Only socialists need apply" principle. Santorum had spoken about a less federalized education policy. Sharpton asked, “When you get through talking, how do you do it if the federal government is not going to do it? And I might remind you, you’re running to be the head of the federal government. So how are you against something that you’re running to be in charge of? Isn’t that a little schizo?”

“Yeah, that’s the difference between you and me, Al,” Santorum said.

“Yeah, there’s a lot of differences but go ahead,” Sharpton responded.

As the pair’s brief debate wrapped up, Sharpton said, “I didn’t even tell him how I really feel about him.”

“Remember, you’re a reverend, Reverend,” fellow interviewer and former RNC Chairman Michael Steele insisted. That title has never restrained Sharpton's tongue.

Following Sharpton raises suspisions that you are clueless.

Submitted by tvhall on Sat, 12/31/2011 - 8:52pm.

Sharpton's single note is all evil is wrapped up in white racism. Hey Al, how about your racism against whites? Or could all of the troubles you call attention to be an expectation that you and your people be given everything they need with no effort on your part? (Prime demonstration, New Orleans and Katrina!)

Da Rev!

Submitted by Newsbubba on Sat, 12/31/2011 - 6:52pm.

Is he really a reverend?  I mean, has anyone actually seen a degree from a divinity school, other than the Church of What's Happening Now, yo?  Exactly who ordained this asshole?

And Rev, Santorum was saying “despicable and ugly things” about the RBFSOB because he is despicable and vile.

About the only nice thing that I can think of to say about him is that he spent ONLY $4 million of taxpayer money on his Christmas vacation!

Thank you Mr. President for not spending $6 million.

By the f-ing way.  I just came from the airport and the flags were flying at half staff.  Please tell me that ain't for Kim Jung Dead!

Something must be going on in your state. The gov can order them to be flown at half staff. The UN flag was flying at half staff for Kin Jung Dung. One of these days I am going to get the guts to burn a UN flag on the couthouse steps.

I don't believe he is one, really.

Submitted by Bob K on Sat, 12/31/2011 - 8:34pm.

I know he was some sort of child prodigy on the preaching circuit. But beyond that, it begs looking into.

What always astounds me is how he can possibly be taken seriously. Scratch that. Liberals have to take him seriously, for p.c. reasons. But I KNOW that deep down inside they do not. He serves a purpose as a poverty pimp, like jesse jackson and others. Come to think of it, they accept him for p.c. reasons the same way they voted for obama for p.c. reasons. And consider the current polls. obama has lost many liberals. You will just never get one of them to say they have abandoned him.

On another racial subject.....am I the only one who has noticed that Herman Cain's accusers are totally gone from the news? You would think it would still be of interest. You could not go five minutes without seeing a story about them on cable news at the time. Naw, they did their hatchet job on him, now the liberals are no longer interested.

Submitted by MidAmerica on Sat, 12/31/2011 - 7:16pm.

How many threads have we had lately on the subject of denouncing Republicans for ugly and derogatory language that they should apologize for?

Methinks they are trying to build a defensive wall around obama like he was privileged to have in 2008 where McCain's usual reference to obama was 'My friend'.

I also notice a lack of the usual racist defense so it must have worn out its usefulness and no longer tests well.

I still don't know why anyone

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 12/31/2011 - 7:42pm.

I still don't know why anyone who wants to retain any modicum of credibility (especially from 'our' side) would give one seconds worth of time to Natso Sharpton, the Leghumper, or any number of these other delusional dopes. There is NOTHING good that can come of it, and it can only bring them down to some other level - because nobody's going to be able to raise a guy like Sharpton up......................plus, the guy is probably stupider than Boy Barry, and it's ALWAYS going to be about 'race'.

Talk about your stream-of-consciousness redefinition. How would they experience difficulties "due to race" in a truly colorblind system?!! This article starts with the idea that those who champion "color-blind" are simply being disingenuous. Did this lady get her PhD arguing against straw men?

More liberal logic. 'One cannot run for office if one does not support the expansion of a bloated, over-reaching, spendthrift government'. And they are so stupid that they consider these lines, big "gotcha" moments for their side. Idiotic.
