I think my racist tv (no, it can't be, it's a color set) has kept the final death toll from me, I was thinking the number of dead was much lower. I'll go see what my black and white tv has to say.

I wonder how many of those advertisers dropped their ads because of this supposed boycott, and how many dropped their ads because like all advertisers, they frequently change their ad buys?

The days of long-term sponsorship are long gone. Also, Wal Mart has just started a massive new joint marketing campaign with their suppliers. Before, they were just advertising themselves. Now they are advertising various products and adding themselves in at the end as a supplier, which means the target audience for those spots is going to be vastly different.

Sounds to me like these jerks are trying to claim success for something they had nothing to do with.

Of the 883 bodies processed so far by medical examiners at St. Gabriel,
562 have been identified by race. Slightly less than half that number -
48 percent - are African-American.

Forty-one percent are white, 8 percent unknown and 2 percent Hispanic.

The remarkable numbers, which undermine claims that Katrina rescue
efforts were somehow infused by racism, have been completely ignored by
the national media, with only the Lousiana-based news web site, The
Bayou Buzz, devoting any coverage at all to the story.

The surprisingly low death rate for black Katrina victims comes despite
the fact that New Orleans itself was more than two-thirds black [67
percent] when the storm hit. White residents made up less than a third
[28 percent] of the city's population, according to U.S. Census bureau
numbers.

The two hardest hit areas were Orleans parish, which is the city itself
- with 720 people killed by Katrina - and St. Bernard parish, with 123
dead.

St. Bernard parish is 88 percent white, but the total population before
the storm was just 65,554 people. The city of New Orleans, on the other
hand, had 484,674 people before the storm, 67 percent of whom were
black.

The two populations combined were still over 60 percent black - twelve
points higher than the percentage of black residents killed by Katrina.

Katrina did not discriminate across economic lines, either. Rich homes were destroyed as well as poor homes, and the same type of insurance problems existed. About the only area Katrina did discriminate is in the category of age where a disproportionate number of the elderly died.

Let me leave race completely out of this and go back to a point that has been made many times about President Obama and his administration and that is their attacks on private citizens and individual public figures. An appointed member of Obama's advisors is using an organization that he is heading while simutaneously holding office to attack an public figure over his opinion. This is not about racism it is about the opression of the people by an administration who continues to stretch the powers of the government and put into question the validity of the rights of the ordinary citizens.

Obama's Czar Van Jones father of Black America's racist political voice "Color of Change" will cost Obama dearly.  Their attack on Glenn Beck will fail and the fallout will land on Comrade Obama.

 No matter the current appearance of the politics of “Hope & Change” Black America is not comprised of militant racists nor do they perceive themselves as life’s victims.  This racist campaign linked to the White House will FAIL.

These sponsors should be contacted and be told that if they drop sponsorship because of this thuggery, they will be exposed and everyone who watches Beck and everyone who cares about freedom of speech will boycott them.

Sponsors are afraid of controversy.  They think they can drop the Beck ads and get away with it...let's teach them a lesson.

Also, I wonder if these companies stopped contributing to the Obama campaign once the "typical white person" comment became widely known....

I know I'll avoid any company that actively participates in the goal to censor someone. 

I must say, things have changed a lot since the Imus firing after companies withdrew advertising from his show. I remember making a post asking NewsBusters to list the companies. RD Helm posts a link with the companies involved. Will NewsBusters do an article on the companies participating in this censorship?
Yea, I think this is yet another incredibly stupid move that probably can be traced back to the White House.

I thought I read somewhere that these companies are in reality just moving their advertising away from the opinion shows (including Beck) but not actually pulling them from FOX itself. What has been failed to be reported is that our new 'Green Jobs' Czar Van Jones is a founding board member of Color of Change.  Jones was also on the board of the Apollo Alliance, a hard-left environmentalist group that is now running large chunks of the Obama administration. Beck pounded away at the Apollo Alliance and Jones on a recent show.

Coincidence?  I don't think so.

btw, were the people that were 'left behind to die' in New Orleans, the ones stealing the TV's or the VCR's?

Nagin failed the residents of New Orleans by not using every method he could to evacuate them.  Anyone remember seeing  the film footage of the many school buses that went unused?  Maybe they could have been utilized to evacuate those people.

So Beck is now America's #1 enemy eh? Those trying to kill us all are not going to like that very much.

As far as I'm concerned, the only things Glenn Beck is proficient in are his radio and TV skills and his golf swing. Other than that, he's just an ordinary man with an ordinary understanding of politics and government like everybody else. Only difference is he has the talent to say it. Why should I weep for him simply because he has talant? Christian and parents groups that boycott TV shows do so not because they hate talanted people. Their disagreements are with the liberal messages, and the rest of the time, the sex, violence and swear words. That's what the liberals do with Glenn Beck: boycott him because of his messages, and maybe because of some sexual innuendo due to the airing of his colonoscopy.
