The Obama-loving media has found a new narrative for the last full week of the campaign: Sarah Palin's not only a drag on the ticket, she's a runaway "rogue." CNN.com's Political Ticker is quoting anonymous McCain aides getting nasty:
"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," said this McCain adviser. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.
"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."
Obviously, if this aide were named in the story, he or she would have to be responsible for these quotes, instead of hiding behind a mask. But it feeds a media voraciously in search of a storyline of how people who know they have lost behave: demoralized and pointing fingers.
The husband-wife team of John King and Dana Bash, along with Peter Hamby, are developing the internal-feuding story with relish:
The Politico reported Saturday on Palin's frustration, specifically with McCain advisers Nicolle Wallace and Steve Schmidt. They helped decide to limit Palin's initial press contact to high-profile interviews with Charlie Gibson of ABC and Katie Couric of CBS, which all McCain sources admit were highly damaging.
In response, Wallace e-mailed CNN the same quote she gave the Politico: "If people want to throw me under the bus, my personal belief is that the most honorable thing to do is to lie there."
But two sources, one Palin associate and one McCain adviser, defended the decision to keep her press interaction limited after she was picked, both saying flatly that she was not ready and that the missteps could have been a lot worse.
They insisted that she needed time to be briefed on national and international issues and on McCain's record.
"Her lack of fundamental understanding of some key issues was dramatic," said another McCain source with direct knowledge of the process to prepare Palin after she was picked. The source said it was probably the "hardest" to get her "up to speed than any candidate in history."
Schmitt came to the back of the plane Saturday to deliver a statement to traveling reporters: "Unnamed sources with their own agenda will say what they want, but from Gov. Palin down, we have one agenda, and that's to win on Election Day."
Yet another senior McCain adviser lamented the public recriminations.
"This is what happens with a campaign that's behind; it brings out the worst in people, finger-pointing and scapegoating," this senior adviser said.

Here is a creative approach to redistribution of wealth as offered by a
reader of the local newspaper, the Eagle Tribune.
Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote
Obama, I need the money." I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I
laughed--just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him
that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood
there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his
tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The
server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server
inside as I decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was
grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized
the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter
was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the
actual recipient deserved money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept
than in practical application.

George Walker Bush worked with Condoleezza Rice and Paul Wolfowitz for many months, and he still got tripped up on details.
For a bit of perspective, here is an article from the left-leaning, 10-cent-word NY Observer from 2004: "When the Massachusetts Senator fired his campaign team last fall, The New York Times derided his decision-later hailed for turning the race around-as 'a bit of scapegoating by a candidate who seems on the rocks.'"

I wonder if some of you will get suicidal.
No, because many who have the means will be executing their escape plans, and taking their money with them.
Many who remain will be rather busy resisting this hideous manufactured fraud that is Barack Hussein Obama.
You see, the dirty little secret they didn't teach your ignorant ass (sorry, Tim) in whatever government school you were unfortunate enough to have attended in your formative years was this:
There is a huge number of people in this country that care very much about true freedom, and who have a deep love and appreciation for this country and what it stands for.
True freedom and the murderous, oppressive Marxist ideology espoused by Barrack Hussein Obama and his miserable band of like-minded mindless myrmidons are totally incompatible concepts.
They are the oil and vinegar of the political spectrum.
Many people in this country, and I am one of them, have no intention of allowing our freedom and liberty to be taken from us by a freedom-hating stooge who's manufactured candidacy has been bankrolled by the likes of George Soros, who is an America-hater almost without peer.

Refutation of All Your Relevant Points
October 26, 2008 - 20:49 ET by Josh SNDid the media ever bend over for George Walker Bush? How about the treatment of Bush in the debates. Years later Bruni, of the New York Times, would write that Bush lost all the debates, and was ham-handed throughout it all (p. 187 of "Ambling into History") but at the time Bruni only wrote negative things about Gore. See, although Bruni says Gore won, Bruni only had bad words for Gore. Bruni covered Bush this way "When Gov. George W. Bush of Texas first hit the presidential campaign trail in June, he wore monogrammed cowboys boots—the perfect accessory for his folksy affability and casual self-assurance." When Bruni covered the debates, he called Gore a big *sshole with, making sure we all disliked him like this:
That was the story the whole time. Bush was a likable guy, someone to have a drink with, while Gore was just a big liar.
Did Gore ever say he invented the Internet? No. Did he say he discovered Love Canal? No. But the media ran those stories, especially the NY Times, over and over and over and over again. The Internet story still pops up today. By the way, Vinton Cerf, one person who might be considered the father of the internet, gives Gore a lot of credit for creating the legislative initiatives which started the internet. Gore was always the Senate leader on science and technology issues. But to the NY Times, he was just a big liar.

October 26, 2008 - 16:46 ET by TheAssessorFor the media that anonymous tip crap is so obvious. When in doubt make stuff up.
I'm finding an increasingly large number of people voting McCain but afraid to admit it. In just under an hour I found reports from very liberal areas in Idaho, Washington State, Virginia, and Illinois (actually Chicago of all places) all with similar fears of being outed as voters for McCain. So I made a few calls here in NY and same thing..there appears to be an urgency stirring in an underground resistance way, a steady complaint, even from Dems, of being intimidated at home, the workplace and among peers. I'm surprised by the ones I found in other states, but I'm stunned by this hidden support for McCain among liberals here in NY and also how fearful people are of admitting it. If this is the tip of the iceberg we could have a blowout for McCain causing one helluva firestorm from the left Nov 5th. All say they would never report this to a pollster or peers. One wouldn't even tell his wife! Could this keep Obabble out of the WH by a landslide? Fingers crossed.

October 26, 2008 - 17:47 ET by IamTinmanWhich it isn't, Why should Sarah Palin shoulder the blame for what was obviously a poor excuse for a campaign by the McCain brain trust?
Putting themselves in a hole by taking federal funding without a firm committment freom Obama. Duh!
Waiting untill late in the campaign to try to energize the conservative wing who are the people who actually knock on doors.
Ignoring the Obamessiahs background and associates until too late in the campaign. Character counts!
Trying to jump in front of the white house during the economic crisis. This was a guaranteed loser. There was no winning strategy, only chaos.
John McCain is a good guy, but still tied closely to the country club republicans who would rather lose than rock the Washington D.C. boat. And indeed they may but there is (God willing) another election 4 years from now and Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Mike Huckabee and a host of conservatives without the stench of "get along go along" Washington, will give back to the people the America envisioned by the founding fathers not by Karl Marx.
Eh, hmm
October 26, 2008 - 18:26 ET by Josh SNI still think the "experience" argument (Obama lacks sufficient experience) was the main point McCain supporters were making that echoed with Democrats. I knew at least one older, female Democrat who was very concerned\, was considering not voting for Obama. She had been a Hillary supporter.
However, she is not a complete idiot, and saw the Palin selection as the cynical "get Hillary voters" ploy that it was. She didn't expect McCain to pick a Democrat, mind you.
And, of course, she is aware that the main job of Vice-President is to be on call, to be one heartbeat away. In that sense, no, it isn't Palin's fault, and it is McCain's fault, but it isn't "the campaign"'s fault.
So how do you really think came up with Palin? Ralph Reed? We know John Sidney McCain III barely knew her.

October 26, 2008 - 18:46 ET by fitzfongI don't doubt that some of McCain's handlers are feuding with Palin. He has surrounded himself and his campaign with the kind of RINO minions that turn off most Republicans. The McCain campaign is a mess...but despite the dishonest media's "interpretation" of the facts, the weak link in the campaign is McCain...not Palin.

This is nothing new
October 26, 2008 - 19:33 ET by Gabrielle EI read this type of crap on a liberal site right before the VP debate in which two unamed McCain supporters said that they tried to have a mock debate and press conference that both went horribly. Obviously, we know how true that was.
The fact that the media feels the need to discuss tells me how afraid they are of Sarah Palin.

October 26, 2008 - 19:54 ET by HockeyKidUnnamed sources close to Senator Obama relate that he is a harsh taskmaster, referring to female subordinates as "stupid cows" and informing aides that they must genuflect when entering or leaving his presence.
The aides also state that Obama seldom bathes, and insists that the resulting stench is his "aura". Few involved in the campaign are actually supporting Obama anymore, but his extensive contacts through various ACORN organizations have given him the ability to threaten the health, wealth, or very life of anyone who considers leaving the campaign. Most are working in fear for their lives and families. Many do not expect to survive through the second week of November.

So now we are to believe even Palin's own family (you know, that 'prop family') mistrusts her? This past Friday I commented somewhere here they can't go any lower.
I retract that.
