Fred Barnes has a new article out in The Weekly Standard on the origins of the surge in Iraq, but controversy has erupted in left-wing circles over an aside: "Rather than a turning point, the events of June prompted a fleeting moment of optimism. The week before Camp David, Abu Musab al Zarqawi, the al Qaeda leader in Iraq, had been killed. (Cheney has a piece of the house where Zarqawi died on display at his residence.)"
On Wednesday night, mad-dog radio host Mike Malloy referred to the Standard article by "truly certifiable maniac" Fred Barnes. "This guy is beyond crazy," charged Malloy."I'm sure he eats children's arms and legs for afternoon snacks. This guy is insane." As he described the Barnes passage that that Cheney has a Zarqawi-house souvenir, Malloy added: "I'm surprised that Cheney doesn't have a piece of Zarqawi's body."
Dismissed by Air America, Mad Dog Malloy is the pride and joy of the new Nova M radio network, started up by Air America founder Sheldon Drobny.

Many picked up Donahue's reins, but it was Al Franken who made a career out of being a vampire sucking the fame from Rush Limbaugh to become someone.
You can see Arianna Huffington a blonde who married well, road Reagan's popularity and found out she was a nobody so she decided to become Drudge of the mindless left.
Olberman though showed the world how to even out Franken Franken in being a washed up fired nobody who started screaming about Bill O'Reilly to make himself a fellow Soviet power in the room.
All these piss ants learned this and Mr. Huston has a rapper who does good in mimic other rappers, but his message is "good" by being the Weird Al Yankovic of not rap rapping.............I seem to remember that Bill Cosby in the Electric Company did a whole lot more for all children than to mirror idiocy. He changed mediums.
One does not lower the standard to become a message, one raises the standard so kids and people understand you are more than something of the mass scream and they soon are following your positives.
As John Wayne did uplifting work and scolded Clint Eastwood for being a thug in Dirty Harry.........Wayne proved right.
This is the problem in it now in with the big shots of the right all being followed around and sucked upon that people like Malloy have to pick on...........Fred Barnes?
Fredman is not exactly top rung and most liberals wouldn't know what the Clark Kent of print even is. Calling Fred insane is like calling toast a weapon of mass destruction.
But Malloy suffers from lack of choice and being stuck on stupid of "for the children" from the Clinton years.
Is it so hard to actually make an entertaining program, informative and to find things the left can bite into?
Satire as Mr. Limbaugh states must be based in reality to be funny and make a point..........Fred Barnes is hardly Jack the Ripper.......a better analogy would be Frank Burns in MASH.......don't touch him as the dullness wears off.
