Liberal Media Pounces on Pat Robertson For Israel Remarks on 700 Club Today

Here we go again, the liberal media leftist elite have nothing better to do with their time than to attack Pat Robertson again.  This time they are taking issue with  Robertson's  comments regarding Ariel Sharon's health and how Sharon has given away part of the holy land for "peace".

"God considers this land to be his," Robertson said on his TV program "The 700 Club." "You read the Bible and he says `This is my land,' and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, `No, this is mine."'

Media Matters for America, an extreme left group, has placed the offending video on their website, and  the Anti-Defamation League is outraged at the comments as stated on their website.

Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director, issued the following statement:

It is outrageous and shocking, but not surprising, that Pat Robertson once again has suggested that God will punish Israel's leaders for any decision to give up land to the Palestinians.  His remarks are un-Christian and a perversion of religion.  Unlike Robertson, we don't see God as cruel and vengeful.

We would hope that good Christian leaders would distance themselves from Pat Robertson's remarks.  It is pure arrogance for Robertson to suggest that he has divine knowledge of God's intent and purpose based on his interpretation of scripture.

People for the American Way is also weighing in on the issue by stating the following:

“Once again, Pat Robertson leaves us speechless with his insensitivity and arrogance,” People For the American Way Foundation President Ralph G. Neas said. “It is astonishing that Pat Robertson still wields substantial influence in this White House and national Republican Party politics. With our nation at war and the unstable political situation throughout the Middle East, it is essential for the President of the United States to immediately disavow these irresponsible, inflammatory statements.”

The problem with all of these naysayers is that apparently they haven't read the Bible.  If they had, then they would know that God does care about the land of Israel.  Robertson isn't being anti-semitic either, in fact he's being the exact opposite.  Robertson has said time and time again that he loves the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.  He also stated very clearly that he was sad to see Ariel Sharon in that condition, and yet because all the left likes to do is beat up on religious conservatives they disagree with, they conveniently ignore that statement.  What else is new.
