John Edwards, Michelle Obama Bail on 'The View' Citing Writers Strike

Team Edwards, both eminently coiffed candidate John and his designated political hitter bride Elizabeth, on Wednesday, Novemeber 21st cancelled their scheduled appearance on The View, doing so, according to the UnDynamic Duo, to “honor the members of the Writers Guild of America”, who are currently on strike.

Not to be outpandered, Michelle Obama, wife of the incredibly audacious Barack, later that same day pulled out of her December 5th guest co-hosting duties.

Obviously, sucking up is more important than being sucked up to in Democratic presidential politics.

This is related to nearly every Donkey candidate promising to not participate in a scheduled December 10th CBS debate (moderated by the ratings Juggernaut Katie Couric) should their news writers decide to join their union brethren and sistren (one must be, in this age of PC, all-inclusive) and abandon that foundering network vessel to the waves unscribed.

(They are apparently close to striking, having just recently noticed that they have been working bereft of a contract since April of 2005.)

Notice I said nearly every candidate; who is ready for the Dennis Kucinich-Mike Gravel Nielsen winner should the strike transpire? The guy who saw a UFO versus the guy who got off it.

Back to the original point on The View; I scoured the news wires for their Republican presidential counterparts deciding whether or not to withdraw from their co-hosting or guest appearances on the benighted morning program, but I was utterly unsuccessful. I simply can not imagine why that would be.

Regardless, I earnestly look forward to seeing Judith Giuliani, Ann Romney or any of the other Elephant candidates's spouses taking to the set opposite whatever amalgamation of Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck is thrown together for them.

Care to guess which of the four would most likely be the one given the day off? (Here is the Big Hint: Mrs. Hasselbeck, the token conservative, is the only one of the four whose ideological outlook is mentioned AT ALL in her biography, and it appears at the inception of Sentence #2. Any more than one UnLiberal on board at any time would, methinks, be for for them unthinkable.)
