NYT's Joe Nocera Spews Venom at 'Terrorist' Tea Partiers for Strapping on 'Suicide Vests'

New York Times columnist Joe Nocera on Tuesday viciously attacked Tea Party Republicans as "terrorists" who wore a "suicide vests" during the debt ceiling debate.

Continuing the paper's habit of comparing congressional GOP members to murderers, Nocera derided:

You know what they say: Never negotiate with terrorists. It only encourages them.

These last few months, much of the country has watched in horror as the Tea Party Republicans have waged jihad on the American people. Their intransigent demands for deep spending cuts, coupled with their almost gleeful willingness to destroy one of America’s most invaluable assets, its full faith and credit, were incredibly irresponsible. But they didn’t care. Their goal, they believed, was worth blowing up the country for, if that’s what it took.

Nocera actually managed to top those inflammatory comments by closing:

For now, the Tea Party Republicans can put aside their suicide vests. But rest assured: They’ll have them on again soon enough. After all, they’ve gotten so much encouragement.

These types of hyperbolic statements are not uncommon at the Times. On July 25, columnist Nicholas Kristof used similar language. Also speaking of the Tea Party, he declared, "Well, wake up to the national security threat. Only it’s not coming from abroad, but from our own domestic extremists."

Kristof insisted that the biggest threat to America "comes from budget machinations, and budget maniacs, at home."

On July 4th, 2011, another columnist, David Brooks, proclaimed the Tea Party has "no sense of moral decency."

Finally, on June 26, columnist Thomas Friedman referred to the group of conservatives as the "Hezbollah faction" of the GOP.

You're about to hear it now

I too agree with the Tea Party and there is only one terrorist setting policy in this country and he is firmly situated in the white house. None other than the birthday boy Barack Hussein Obama. His Jihad against America would humble the allegedly deceased Osama Bin Laden. Is it 2012 yet?

just pretend we are

Submitted by ohio granny on Wed, 08/03/2011 - 3:42pm.

Just pretend the tea partiers are mOOOOOOOOOOOOslim terrorists and you won't have a problem with the tea party. Then we can start shooting and bombing you idiots back to the middle ages.

Now isn't that stupid???? But not any more stupid then you calling the tea party terrorists. Because we want the government to live by the constitution and stop trying to control every aspect of our lives. Because we want the government to live within its means and not indenture our children and grandchildren? Because we want to make decisions for ourselves regarding what we eat, what we watch on television, what we listen to on the radio?

Unlike liberals/MSM/democrats we believe in actually listening to people who disagree with us. We believe we have a god given right to make decisions regarding our personal lives. We don't need the government deciding what food we eat, where we send our children to school, insisting we accept behaviors that we find offensive.

We don't believe it is okay to send our children into crowds that disagree with us with suicide bombs attached. We believe it it wrong to take a human life regardless of how much we disagree with the other point of view.

For the MSM to compare the tea party to terrorists just proves how empty their beliefs are. You should hang your head in shame. You must live a miserable and pathetic life if that is indeed what you believe.

Hmm . . Joe the foul mouthed bigot Nocera said:

Well, while their off, how about you, Chris Matthews, Schultz, Biden, Rep. Mike Doyle, Nicholas Kristof, Dvid Brooks, Tom Friedman, and anyone else that has referred to the Tea Party as terrorists, or acting like terrorists; or that they have put a gun to the President's or Congress' head, etc -- why don't all of you get in a line - put the vests on, and prove your point.

Poof!

These far left socialists

Submitted by deerjerkydave on Wed, 08/03/2011 - 4:10pm.

These far left socialists have been in power for the last century. When their power is challenged even a little bit they are going to kick, scream, gnash teeth, name call, swear, everything you would expect from people addicted to power and lacking in moral character.

Those in the tea party should expect to see this type of rhetoric as they continue their efforts in transforming Washington. The exorcism of Washington has only just begun, we cannot let up.

"The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the Federal Government are few and defined.  Those which are to remain in the State Governments are numerous and indefinite. -James Madison

Buzz words

Submitted by Djinn1975 on Wed, 08/03/2011 - 4:26pm.

I think that the liberal community has a list of buzz words that they distribute among themselves for usage to describe conservatives during issues/crises du jour. Like in school your English teacher would give you a list of words to learn how to spell and define. Always with Obama it's racism, Jim Crow, Nazi, etc. Gabby Giffords had us thinking vitriol and rhetoric had a pronoun/antecedent relationship. Now with the debt crisis we have terrorist, suicide bomber, kidnapper, which is ironic because in a liberal's eye, terrorist and suicide bombers can do no wrong.

Add to Øbama's legacy in 2012: The first MULATTO, one term, worst U.S. President ever. Your vote ensures the trifecta.

Look at who's spewing hatred. It's never been the Tea Party. It's our so-called newsmen on tv and the newspapers!

You know, sticks and stones

Submitted by amyshulk on Wed, 08/03/2011 - 10:32pm.

You know, sticks and stones only hit the "surface voters" and deflect them away from the eeeeeeevil TP.

What, me worry???

The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
