ABC's Crystal Ball for 2011: Obama Is the 'Comeback Kid'
ABCNews.com on Monday featured various journalists peering into their 2011 crystal balls. Correspondent Linsey Davis noted higher retail sails and trumpeted, "So, with this economic rebound, my prediction is that there will be increased chatter about President Obama as the comeback kid."
ABC is hardly the first network to repeat this liberal wish. On the December 20 Early Show, political analyst John Dickerson mentioned the just-passed tax compromise and touted, "They are calling President Obama the comeback kid."
On another topic, correspondent Ron Claiborne asserted that African Americans believe "...The President has tended to shy away from identifying himself as the black president and has not done enough for African Americans, not just specifically for African Americans, but on the jobs front, which of course, hits African Americans and Latinos a lot harder than it does white Americans."
Claiborne suggested Obama would make increased overtures to African Americans.
Reporter Dan Harris claimed the popularity of mega churches would decline in 2011: "So, we're starting to see a movement that's been loosely dubbed 'churchless congregations.'" He explained, "These are Christians who meet in basements of people's houses, in public parks, sometimes even in bars and they feel that they are hewing closer to the vision of the early Christians than those big mega churches do."
Perhaps surprisingly, former Democratic operative turned journalist George Stephanopoulos predicted, "I think John Edwards is going to get indicted for everything involved with that scandal over Rielle Hunter."
A partial transcript of some of the predictions can be found below:

Predictions:
GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: I think John Edwards is going to get indicted for everything involved with that scandal over Rielle Hunter.
LINSEY DAVIS: All right. So, the world according to Lindsey Davis. We had retail sales beat expectations. The stock market analysts are talking about GDP exceeding three percent in 2011. So, with this economic rebound, my prediction is that there will be increased chatter about President Obama as the comeback kid.
DAN HARRIS: Hi, I'm Dan Harris. One of the things I cover here at ABC News is faith in America. So, here's my prediction for the coming year: I think you're going to see an increasing rebellion among American Christians against those big, slick mega churches. There are many Christians out there who are starting to feel that these mega churches are too impersonal, too much like Starbucks than they are like pure houses of worship. So, we're starting to see a movement that's been loosely dubbed "churchless congregations." These are Christians who meet in basements of people's houses, in public parks, sometimes even in bars and they feel that they are hewing closer to the vision of the early Christians than those big mega churches do. So, that's my prediction for 2011.
RON CLAIBORNE: My prediction for 2011: Look for President Obama to make increasing overtures to African American voters. Now, of course, if you look at polls, the President has support of more than 90 percent of African Americans. But there is, I believe, a quiet conversation going on among black Americans that the President has tended to shy away from identifying himself as the black president and has not done enough for African Americans, not just specifically for African Americans, but on the jobs front, which of course, hits African Americans and Latinos a lot harder than it does white Americans. So, my prediction for 2011 is that with an eye towards 2012 and this key constituency that the President will need to turn out in big numbers for him to be reelected, look for the President to reach out more to African Americans more in the coming year.
JOHN BERMAN: For anyone covering Sarah Palin, and I am. See, that's her book right there, the big question about 2011 is 2012. As in, is she going to be running for President? Well, like every other reporter in America, what am I doing to find out? I'm following her Twitter page right here

Of course? If I didn't know better, I'd say the author of that statement believes that blacks and hispanics are somehow less capable in the job market than whites. Or, that employers -when making payroll cuts- seek out blacks and hispanics first, or solely. Is that what he's suggesting?

I would change Clairbourne's statement to read; "Of course, African-Americans are hit hardest on the job front BECAUSE of ILLEGAL Hispanics occupying many entry-level jobs."

What does Obama have to "come back" from? Didn't the MSM, ABC included, just spend the last month telling us what a productive, effective, and universally respected and admirable President Obama has been in just the last two years alone?

Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that he is "coming back" from screwing up the economy.
Exactly what has he done in the past couple of months that could be credited for retail sales being up?
Did he invent Christmas? every year the pundits predict a bleak Christmas shopping season, and every year people go out and exceed their expectations. How many times does this have to happen for them to get the hint?
As for the stock, they are "predicting" a comeback in 2011; it hasn't happened yet.
Chickens, count, hatch....Ms. Davis is getting all tingly just at the possibility that he might rebound!

He's only popular with the sychophantic communist media in this country that elected this marxist AH, and they will NOT let him go down a one- termer, even if they have to commit crimes to do it! Yeah, He's going to the little boy that had to ' Come Back ' to reality big time when the bipartisan houses of Congress, led by Republicans, joined by democrats with a conscience and any democrat weasels not ready to retire in 2012 hand him his ass on everything from ObamaCare to his end runs around them ( Congress ) with Net Neutrality, etc.
Make no mistake, this president is on a mission for ' reparations ' and will not end his radical agenda to forcibly overthrow the current form of government enjoyed by the citizens of the United States of America for over 200 years. He began his campaign under the unassuming guise of , ' fundamental transformation '.
Anyone who takes the time to study this con man's radical manifesto, from his early years of indoctrination by communist mother and grand parents to his latter year choice to only associate with fellow radicals would see what is in his heart & mind. I assure you, it's not what is best for the United States of America......not by a long shot.
To him, America's form of democracy & way of life is the enemy and an evil scourge on the world......that he grew up in.
Then he, in his own written & spoken ( recorded ) words explains how he sought out those with a like minded ( radical, communist, socialist, non American, minority ) philosophy in every aspect of his personal, educational and professional life once he arrived in mainland America.
How this foreigner ( regardless of his actual place of birth ) came to power in America, the greatest country & democracy on earth proves just how broken and dysfunctional this country has become.

What "economic rebound" are they referring to, anyways? The expected increase of Christmas "season" sales and the corresponding rise of stock purchases due to those expected increases in retail sales and retail profits?? Yea, like you'll see the same sales and stock market "increases" over the next 11 months!
As happens every year, the retail sales figures for the next quarter will, "unexpectedly," drop considerably, following a "unexpected" drop in the Stock Market as people sell their stocks at profit before the next quarterly report is due and the value of those stocks decrease substantially. But, shhhh, don't tell the "experts" as I love it when they are "surprised" at what happened every single year. It's what makes them the "experts," I guess.

Anybody notice the cost of gasoline lately? First, you've got a moratorium on drilling that -even though expired- is still being kept in place by Interior fiat. Then you've got the introduction of the Volt, from Government Motors. Connection, maybe?
Let's see now, the Chevy Volt
Submitted by Beukeboom on Tue, 01/04/2011 - 11:10am.
Let's see now, the Chevy Volt will sell for $41000 before a federal tax credit of $7500, while the Nissan Leaf will go for $32780 before the credit. The Volt can travel only 25 to 50 miles on electric power before relying on gas while other electric cars such as the Leaf have a range of about 100 miles. A J.D. Power and Associates report states the higher cost of electric vehicles, their limited range and the lack of a public recharging infrastructure will hold electric and hybrid vehicle sales to only 7.4 percent globally.
I don't see such vehicles having much of an impact in the U.S. just yet (if ever). I think the odds are somewhat high that this may end up being a passing fancy. But if gas prices go as high as many predict for 2011 ($4 - $5 per gallon), U.S. sales may go higher for the Volt and Leaf although by not much due to their over-expensive price tags. More likely sales of smaller, more fuel efficient & less expensive foreign cars would increase dramatically if fuel prices skyrocket in 2011.
QE2

QE2. This is debasing the value of the dollar on world markets. As a result, commodities priced in dollars will see a rise in price.
Sure, you have some supply and demand factors (global warming gave us a unseasonably cold winter! damn that global warming!) that push up the price, but QE2's effects cannot be ignored.

The Mega Church predictions
Submitted by Dan The Man 2 on Tue, 01/04/2011 - 12:45am.
The Mega Church predictions will not come true as the people who go to those type of churches do so because it is big. Some like it because they can get lost in the crowd, some want it because they fell bigger is better and there are plenty of other reasons. However, the house church has been around since well, the beginning of time.
House churches are very intimate settings and popular in countries hostile to Christians. They are secretive and close knit and can be held in someones house.
What the article misses is its not the building or the size of the congregation but the personal relationship between God and you. Personally I like smaller gatherings.

Throw it right back at the libs.
Now back to the topic at hand: if the price of gas goes as high as many predict ($4 to $5 per gallon) there won't be any such "comeback." Not to mention if the unemployment figures rise as many also are predicting.
