They Can't be SIRIUS About a 'Rosie' Radio Show

  • Bookmark and Share

SIRIUS XM Radio announced on June 25 that Rosie O’Donnell will host a daily talk show beginning this fall. Rosie Radio “will blend her many passions and interests - an eclectic mix of humor, pop culture and serious conversation.” The talk show will be featured on XM 155 “SIRIUS XM Stars.” Given her history of making outlandish statements it’s quite hard to believe anyone gave O’Donnell a talk show.

During her time as a co-host on “The View” O’Donnell said some controversial and downright weird things. In 2006 she stated that “radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America.” The same year she also proclaimed, “Don't fear the terrorists. They’re mothers and fathers.”

Talking of South Africa’s apartheid, she said it was “very similar today to what we have in the United States, thanks to the Patriot Act.” O’Donnell eventually left “The View” three weeks early in 2007, after yet another controversial statement: “655,000 Iraqi civilians are dead.  Who are the terrorists?” If she made all these comments while co-hosting a one hour television shown one can only imagine the pronouncements she will make on SIRIUS XM.

While the liberal O’Donnell has been harsh to people she disagrees with, she has shown compassion to some, such as Rev. Jeremiah Wright. On the “Today” show in 2008 she stated that he “made sense to me.” Wright makes about as much sense as giving O’Donnell her own radio show.

Well, here is a company

Well, here is a company that has made all the right moves!  It earned nearly $2 billion dollars, but hasn't managed to turn a profit for over six years (current stock price, 45 cents).

Local radio still beats it hands down in my book.  And, Internet radio is free after you pay for a cell phone vendor's data charge if on the road.  As cell phone vendors' data charges come down, it will wipe out satelite radio vendors like Sirius.

Hey, maybe the NYT will buy them.  Losers tend to attract losers . . .

well well

The Queen of Mean, Rosie O'Donut, trying to take her tired, liberal schtick on Sirius. I didn't subscribe because I think Howard is bad. But now, they will NEVER get me as a customer.

I subscribe

So I can listen to Laura, Levin, Bennett, Wilkow, Church, Humphries, and the Blues channel by BB King

I like XM because of the

I like XM because of the variety in genres. I can't get Broadway show tunes or Laura Ingram on my local radio.  Actually, most of my local (I live 60 minutes from Philly) is pop, little variety.  However, I don't listen to their "stars".  I'm sure when Rosie gets outrageous we'll hear about it on newsbusters.  Frankly, I don't think I even want to give her that much publicity.

That Makes My Decision Easier

This is the perfect reason to cancel my multi-car account with XM.........and tell them so.

Naw, I like XM.  I listen

Naw, I like XM.  I listen to channel 166, 121, and the 80's channel and record several hours of programming to listen to when I am stuck somehwere or am on my bike.

BUt you can bet your posterior I will not record anything from channel 155.

Keeping XM

I got my subcription because I have a 45 min commute and deliver pizza's on the weekends.

I use it for the play-by-play baseball. If you're an avid fan like me, it's heaven.

You trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?

Bet she gets as many

Bet she gets as many listeners as hosts on Air-Dead Amerika get.

And you have to admit, not

And you have to admit, not having to see her, at least, is a plus.

i just don't get it. what

i just don't get it. what in the world compels people to look at, much less listen to what this creepy dunce has to say about anything. i'd rather listen to what an irs agent's take on issues is. rosie, do us all a favor and go away. and take perez hilton with you.

She couldn't cut it on the View

and she won't cut it on Sirius.  She's a left-wing arse clown.

Her ratings

Her ratings will be in the toilet in no time.

Rosie's the perfect

Spokesman...er, woman(?). Why I can't think of anyone better to represent the far left. But not radio--No, she needs her own prime time TV spot. That way everyone can get the "total impact."

"If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking." - General George Patton Jr

She had her own prime tome slot...

..not too long ago.  Remember that crappy variety show that NBC ran a few months back.  It was just awful and was cancelled after 1 episode because of low ratings.

As I've always said...libertards have the attention span of a gnats a$$.  Just look at the ratings of AirAmerica,  in the TOILET.  Bankrupt TWICE, and only one channel.  In the Los Angeles area, I can get at least 5 conservative talk radio stations, but no AirAmerica, cause NO ONE wants to listen, not even thier target audience.

If conservative radio moves to satelite because of the fairness doctrine, I'll be making the move with them.

"The Government is not resposible for raising your children" - My Mom

Sheesh!!

Why doesn't Sirius/XM just run the audio portion of the old Twilight Zone episodes instead?  They'll be much more understandable and relevant.

I have to admit that I chuckled at - “will blend her many passions and interests - an eclectic mix of humor, pop culture and serious conversation.”

Folks, that's hilarious.  ''Serious Conversation''.  Like how George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Karl Rove dynamited the World Trade Center.

* Snicker *

SIRIUS/XM does play the old radio Twilight Zones

Radio Classics channels plays the Twilight Zone.  There are well over 140 channels with a ton of variety.  FOX NEWS TALK is one of my favorites.

Don't forget this

Don't forget this gem...

9/11 was the first time in history that fire melted steel - Rose-O the Clown.

When asked if he went to war with Iraq  to derail the impeachment vote:  “I don’t think any serious person would believe that any President would do such a thing." - President Clinton (Dec 1998).

The boycott calls are so noble

Jeez, this throwing everything and anything that isn't 110% conservative is old.

XM has bothsides and everything inbetween. They move and change channels all the time. If she doesn't make it, they will drop her.

That said, as long as she stays off 175 Homeplate I'll be fine.

You trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?

DVD

Yeah, these days saying that you are boycotting Syrius/XM because of one show is like ripping you radio out of the dashboard becaus some station you don't listen to hired someone you don't care for.

I listen to Patriot and Fox News on the satellite, as well as the metal/hard rock station. I would never have known about Rosie getting a show if not for this article.

Well, at least no one will have to LOOK at her...

Sigh!

Rosie is...

...the pig that laid the big rotten egg.

or

instead of being like King Midas, everything Rosie touches turns to sh*t.  She can just add this radio show to the long list of career failures.  She has yet to anything successfuly, except expand her waist size.

“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds”

Samuel Adams

Another bad business move.

I have had XM for years and love it.  I do not mind paying for commercial free music.  Although I am given a hard time for paying, remember, most of us pay for TV.  That said, I am disappointed with the direction XM/Sirius is taking.  Paying to listen on the internet and a rate hike in July seems to me to be driving customers away.

They are hurting, and the decision to add this loud-mouthed bozo is a bad idea.  C'mon XM/Sirius get it together before you sink even more!

"Not for fame or reward, not for place or rank, not lured by ambition or goaded by necessity.  But in simple obedience to duty." - From the barracks at Ft. Benning

This is what happens when

This is what happens when lefties get into business.

They think there's a market for their ideas.  So you get every major media outlet in this country that shows a clear leftist bias (to differing degrees) all sitting around wondering why the one network that gives the opposing slant is kicking their asses.

If these clowns had business sense, they'd realize the market is beyond saturated with their bilge and would wake up and do a real analysis of their programming and message.  But instead they dream up reasons like "anger" for FNC killing them, instead of grasping reality.

People are stupid; a person is smart.  And while the average American may or may not be able to articulate why they know our media sucks, all that maters is that they know.  And no amount of leftist excuses, denials, blaming, lecturing, or flat out lying (zomg! corporations run the media, so they must be REPUBLIKANZ!) is going to save our American Pravda.

I hope Rosie has some other projects in the works, because this one won't last.

I LOVE SIRIUS/XM

There are a ton of channels for everyone and anyone's taste on SIRIUS.  It's like saying you have satellite TV but won't watch it because they have MSNBC even thought they also have FOX NEWS.

The other thing about SIRIUS...if a show doesn't draw they ditch it pretty quick.  Howard Stern would not be on SIRIUS if he didn't draw listeners.  FOX NEWS TALK wouldn't be on either if it didn't draw listeners.

I listen to SIRIUS more than I watch TV by far.  I love having the NHL, College Football, NFL football, Soccer and all my favorite music in one nice little package for only $12.99 a month.  Remember, SIRIUS is something people pay for and Rosie won't be something that will bring new subscribers or lose subscribers for the most part because there is other programming.

 GO TEAM USA on Sunday!

A question if I may?

I have cable . . paid TV. You can't watch TV anymore without it . . (cable, satellite etc.)

But why paid radio?  Frankly I don't listen to the radio at all and never watch TV news (cable included) FREE radio shows are in abundance . . I don't understand why people would pay to listen to the radio.

Oh and about various venues to pick from . . it probably irks more that a few people that their subscription helps cover this new show as well which is where she will spew her hatred for morality.

Isaiah 5:20a Woe unto them who call evil good, and good evil. . .  KJV

Get over yourself.

I pay for it because I cannot listen to what I want listen to on AM/FM. Besides that, AM/FM radio blows.

Frankly I don't listen to the radio at all and never watch TV news (cable included) Ah, now we are getting somewhere. You don't listen to radio, then great, no one faults you for that. I wouldn't have cable if my wife didn't want it.

GASP! I don't watch much TV! Why would anyone pay for cable?!?!

FREE radio shows are in abundance

Anyway, what I want to listen to, doesn't come free.

I am a big baseball fan. There is one channel dedicated entirely to baseball 365 days a year. Then, I can listen to EVERY MLB game all season long, including playoffs and spring training (even the World Classic games).

It's great on my long trips back home to IL and my in-laws in AL. I get the same coverage that I start with in NC and have it in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois. If I am going south, I get is in South Carolina, Georgia and finally Alabama.

I also have a 45 min commute to my first job and deliver pizza's on the weekends. Needless to say I am in the car--alot.

And yes you can watch TV without cable. You choose to pay for cable, we choose to pay for radio we wouldn't get any where else.

No one is confused about you paying for cable. There is no reason for you to be confused about paying for radio. It's the same difference.

...it probably irks more that a few people that their subscription helps cover this new show as well which is where she will spew her hatred for morality

The subcription is a paultry $13 a month. It doesn't pay anything but the poor kid that pushes buttons on the board. If they can't sell the advertising on her show, just like how every other program pays their bills, then she'll be gone.

Get over yourself. You don't know of which you speak.

You trying to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?

You said it better than I could, so I won't try.

Did Sirius bother to do any

Did Sirius bother to do any test marketing stuff, you know, polling and the like?

Are they a bunch of Libtards themselves and are just as out of touch with mainstream America like the rest of them?

Can't be that they actually like throwing away millions of dollars.

I smell Federal stimulus money...

One of the 34% who thinks George W. Bush was a great President. One of the 61% who wants to bring back the stock and pillory (yep...approval for Congress now at 39%...do you believe that!?).

Pollution.

Great, more pollution on pay-for-listening radio!

So glad I don't have Sirius!
