NBC Gives Air America a Little More Help

NBC seems to be lending even more support to the far-left Air America radio network. As MRC noted last year, NBC news shows like Today gave lavish coverage of Air America’s launch, and — so far, at least — NBC News hasn’t uttered a single word about the growing scandal surrounding Air America, as New York City investigators and New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer probe how $875,000 from a boys and girls charity ended up in Air America’s bank accounts.

Now, NBC has booked Air America hostess Janeane Garofalo to appear in three episodes of the political drama West Wing this fall. From the About TV blog:

From NBC: Writer-actress Janeane Garofalo ("The Truth About Cats & Dogs," radio's Air America) will guest-star over an arc of three episodes in NBC's Emmy Award-winning "The West Wing" (Sundays, 8-9 p.m. ET this Fall) as a successful but controversial media strategist who is hired by Democratic Congressman Matt Santos (Jimmy Smits) as the new director of communications for his intense presidential campaign.

As Louise Thornton, Garofalo's character is intent on refining the message and meaning of Santos' campaign and makes waves when she urges Josh (Bradley Whitford) and the other staffers to stop playing politics and concentrate on connecting with the electorate their future constituents.

Garofalo's first episode in the politically charged drama is expected to be broadcast on October 2.

Any chance that the Garofalo character will advise “Matt Santos” to move to the center?
