Mark Shields Blasts 'Hypocrisy' of Left's 'Muted Criticism' of Obama's Drone Attacks
A pig just flew by my window.
On PBS's Inside Washington, the perilously liberal syndicated columnist Mark Shields noted the "inconsistency" and "hypocrisy" of the Left being "muted in their criticism" of President Obama's drone attacks (video follows with transcript and commentary):
MARK SHIELDS: There is a certain inconsistency if not hypocrisy here. I mean, when George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were doing it, there was a lot of liberal criticism, and that’s been increased dramatically under President Obama, and with rare exceptions, the liberals and the Left and the civil libertarians have been muted in their criticism.
NINA TOTENBERG: Actually, Obama has been much more aggressive about it, about the use of drones.
SHIELDS: Much more aggressive. I agree.
This aired on parts of the East Coast a few hours before Newsweek/Daily Beast editor Tina Brown said that if Obama were George W. Bush, he would have already been impeached for his drone policy.
As such, two perilously liberal media members within a few hours noted this hypocrisy.
Wouldn't it have been nice if they did so BEFORE last year's presidential election when it actually would have meant something?
I sure would have preferred seeing pigs fly then.
How 'bout you?
