Bill Kristol: 'I've Never Seen a More Worrisome Moment of U.S. Weakness and Chaos Following'

The Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol gave a rather sobering view of American foreign policy and the state of geopolitics this weekend.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Kristol said, "I've never seen a more worrisome moment of U.S. weakness and chaos following."

CHRIS WALLACE, HOST: Bill, your thoughts about Egypt? Are you as optimistic?

BILL KRISTOL, THE WEEKLY STANDARD: I don't know. I think Iran doesn't ban alcohol, to my knowledge, and I think they may have beaches there where men and women mix, and they're still getting nuclear weapons that are a huge threat to the world. So I'm very worried about Egypt, compared to where one hoped it would be.

And, again where is the U.S.? We are in retreat everywhere, and we are now seeing the price. We actually didn't see the price that much in the first four years because we were living off a lot of inherited capital of U.S. strength. But look at Syria, the total chaos and killing there. Look at Egypt. Look at -- we're going to get out of Afghanistan, and the signal that will send will be disastrous. I am -- I've never seen a more worrisome moment of U.S. weakness and chaos following.
