Key Part of Arizona Law

UPHELD. Another big loss for Team Obama.
I think the main reason

I think the main reason WithHolder took them to court was over the asking immigartion status when they pulled over some one. It was the only part that was upheld.

while SCOTUS upheld the most controversial part, it looks like more litigation is ahead.
In other words the lawyers are the big winners

A rather peculiar result...

These series of rulings on the different sections of the AZ law seem to say that while it is OK for State and local law enforcement personel to check a suspects status with regard to federal law, it is not OK for them to enforce that federal law by any form of detention.
So taking these rulings out of the imigration sphere and applying them to, say Federal environmental law, it would be OK for local law enforcment to check on someone who has killed an animal on the endagered species list, but they could not arrest that person for it.
The SCOTUS is seeming to imply here that 1) only federal officers can enforce federal laws and 2) the Federal Government is superior to and supercedes State Government.

Indeed it is

I thought it was odd as well, before I thought about it and realized, yeah, it IS the responsibility of the fed government to do those things.
However, it doesn't say what needs to be done when the fed gov't doesn't do its job and what actions need to be taken then, which is what the Az law was trying to do.
In short, the states need to take matters into their own hands because the fed gov't declared those states doing so as enemies or at least persona non grata because they aren't kowtowing to the Obeyme administration.

Arizona is allowed to check on the immigration status of suspected illegals if they are stopped for something, but they can't arrest them when they get an answer back from the Feds...

Feds to ignore Az
Submitted by jon_torlin on Mon, 06/25/2012 - 2:46pm.
As Drudge put it on his site, Big sis to AZ: drop dead!
The sheer arrogance of this has struck a new low, I said it before, I'll say it again, the fed gov't has declared war on the states that aren't kowtowing to them, therefore, the fed gov't is the enemy of the people.
In short, if Arizona calls the fed gov't about illegals, they will get ignored.
So what's next, some sort of tactical situation involving the fed gov't versus Arizona? That's what's next. Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a dream world.

Possible Article Of Impeachment For Obama
Submitted by stratman on Mon, 06/25/2012 - 3:19pm.
At the very least, Big Sis II should be brought before Congress for dereliction of duty, failure to follow Federal law, and endangerment of American citizens.
Obama and handlers would love to make the next 4.5 months be about anything but the economy. I see this move by Janet Incompetano as a plan hatched by the White House to divert attention away from the number one issue - the economy, while shiving Arizona at the same time.
Fine, we can apply heat on more than one issue at a time. Make this about the lawlessness of Obama and his adminisgtration, about how they blatantly disregard law. This is how tyrannies begin. Call it what it is.

Here is an eccentric idea….
Submitted by Grumpy in Arizona on Mon, 06/25/2012 - 4:58pm.
Since AZ State LEO’s cannot arrest the illegals… What if we, upon discovery of illegal status, made the illegals “Honorary State of Arizona Ambassadors” and assigned them official (yet unpaid) duties back in their home of record? ( i.e.: Drop them off at the boarder and tell them to go back home and spread the good word about AZ.)

set of balls considering Worthing just won a motion regarding the peace order against him today. He wins, he regained some measure of his inalienable right to free speech, then he gets SWAT'ed. Kimberlin must know he's got some cover in the courts or in the local police department. If he isn't arrested on motive alone, then someone has been paid off.
