Podhoretz: Fast and Furious 'Would Have Dominated Mainstream' News 'For Months' Under GOP White House
"There’s a reason you don’t know much about the complicated and confusing mess known as 'Fast and Furious,'” wrote conservative columnist John Podhoretz at the New York Post Thursday.
"The mainstream media have largely ignored this Obama administration scandal, which would have dominated mainstream front pages and homepages and programs for months had it all taken place under a Republican administration."
Indeed it would have! Podhoretz continued:
All in all, it’s really dumbfounding how little the public has been told about “Fast and Furious,” given how colorful and melodramatic a scandal it is. A branch of the Justice Department decided to let thousands of guns sold in the United States make their way to Mexico to track their use by the drug cartels.
Everything went wrong. The Justice Department lost track of the guns, and it is believed that one of them was used to murder Brian Terry, a US Border Patrol agent — not to mention hundreds of Mexican citizens caught in the crossfire of that country’s drug war.
There have been stories, and powerful ones, especially by Sharyl Atkisson of CBS News. But there has been no media drumbeat, no constant stream of interlocking articles and broadcasts that put relentless pressure on the White House and the Justice Department.
He marvelously concluded:
The fact that a story as juicy as this one has been given short shrift already makes laughable the continued assertion by media panjandrums that they possess no bias toward the Obama administration.
If things continue this way, it will be an admission that they’ve assigned themselves the job of serving as the president’s blocking guard.

What's the difference between ignoring something, and deliberately covering up something as in not saying anything about it on purpose?
This is at the very least Deliberate Journalistic Malpratice, especially when we here at NB have known about it since 2009.

to describe the media and this administration ... although I hadn't seen the word "panjandrum" used in a sentence in I don't know how long.
I like the use of the term "blocking guards" for the media too.

The Republicans are using F&F to persecute poor Eric Holder, because he's trying to stop those mean (R) words from suppressing the vote of minorities by requiring an ID to vote. What's a dead democrat to do?
Of course, her Beckel of Bob is truly demented this time.
The democrat spin as the details of F&F slowly leak into the mainstream of the non-politically aware population is rather amusing. Holder is being perfectly reasonable in withholding documents, and has offered a thousand times to accommodate Darryl Issa in other ways. IOW, the pigs are flying, the popcorn is ready, and the tea trolley is well stocked with premium brands. To quote Margo Channing, "fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a very bumpy night".

I saw a clip of Nan stating this about an hour ago. As I looked into her blinky eyes, I was trying to figure out if she is 1) truly dumb enough to think most Americans are dumb enough to buy that or 2) hypnotizing herself into believing what she says.

I'll go with option 3: Clinically insane.

Demented.
The dems have leaders that just keeps on giving. I wonder if they get swept again in the House this year if they'll keep her on as Minority Leader?

The majority of the news
Submitted by John21 on Fri, 06/22/2012 - 11:52am.
The majority of the news media in America are incapable of telling the facts truthfully.
They are under the impression that the people are stupid, even though the majority are better educated then them, and they need to tell us what we should make of the one sided reports that they do provide. They have been owned and operated by the liberal wing of the Democratic party for at least a decade.
They have lost most if not all of their credibility because of the dishonest reports that lack any sense of integrety and their obvious bias. The ratings that continue to plummet is the people telling them this but their elitist egos will not recognize that the American people are not buying their lies.
Their stupidity and lack of any intergety or honesty is staggering, but to them the only thing that matters is the liberal agenda even when proven beyond comprehention to be a failure.

Of course the MSM would have been covering this non-stop if it was Bush.
Shoot, there's been more scrutiny/negative press on Bush since he's been OUT of office than O when he's been IN office. And there's so much more consequential ammo (no pun intended) to report on with what O has done/is doing in office that should make the majority of Americans shudder that it's ridiculous!
Propaganda talk shows. That's how I think of the MSM.

I posted this in another article, but it applies to this one also.
Maybe what the main stream media need to report on this Holder/Obama cover-up is a couple of conservative reporters who come up with a nameless, non-vetted, non-existent whistle-blower. The reporters can secretly meet with the whistle-blower and obtain information that is damaging to the President and AG Holder. All the mainstream newspapers and TV news stations (CBS, NBC, and ABC) will surely give the information constant headline billing on all their news reports day after day. I'm sure they would be willing to do this, if we could just find that one nameless non-existent non-vetted whistle-blower.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXWTdTnhebs. You all are kidding, right? The Congress of the United States can demand documents from ANYONE, and they are told to f*uck off? (The Congress represents the PEOPLE, right?) Seems to me that the LAWS of the people have no meaning to a specific group of people. And we're letting this happen to us willingly? You all are kidding, RIGHT?
