Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Wins Recall Election Open Thread
Despite bogus talk early in the evening that exit polls showed the Wisconsin recall election in a 50-50 dead heat, Republican Governor Scott Walker has won.
Please feel free to discuss what this means for the upcoming elections in November as well as the future of the labor movement in this country.

Submitted by Rusty Shackleford on Wed, 06/06/2012 - 12:41am.
I'm glad Walker won and I know that's a large margin in the world of politics, but even when you factor in the ultimately knowable amount of union fraud in this election his opponent still got a significant amount of votes. Isn't it scary that we still have so many people in this country who want to see his country collapse? I don't care if they are ignorant because their unions and media talking heads lie to them: at this point if you aren't on the side of restoring this country then you are openly wishing for its demise.

If he improved his margin of victory tonight, that's the best sign there is. The electorate was motivated and he increased his margin.
Gov. Walker managed to motivate folks, and get them over to the honorable side of this election.

Submitted by Rusty Shackleford on Wed, 06/06/2012 - 2:31am.
That is pretty cool that he actually increased his percentage of the popular vote especially considering the outside fraud in this election was certainly larger than in 2010 because the anti-Americans in other states had their own battles to fight.
While that being said, I'm still correct because even in 2010 the public should have been smart enough to understand what this socialism s*** was all about. Aren't humans supposed to be smarter than pigs, monkeys, and dolphins? Even an idiot should have recognized the problems with these simplistic promises the socialists promote. How bad do things have to get before they get a clue?

The exit polls show Dumbama
Submitted by Callie369 on Wed, 06/06/2012 - 4:44am.
The exit polls show Dumbama winning in WI? Hahahahaha. They also showed Walker losing!
I watched the election returns on FOX and the whole 3 hours I watched, it was totally upbeat. Then I switched and watched (for the first time in a LONG time) MSNBC just to see what they would say. I began with Chris Matthews, then Ed Shultz and now Rachel Madcow. All you hear is whining and one lie/fabrication after another. Talk about sore losers!
I say CONGRATULATIONS to Walker and his V.P. They care more about the state of WI then the dumbocrats by far. I hope this is a preview of November! and thank you to everyone in the U.S. that contributed to the fight against the unions.
Wall Street Journal reports that Wisconsin membership in the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees plummeted from 62,818 in March 2011 to 28,745 in February 2012. At the American Federation of Teachers, 6,000 of 17,000 Wisconsin members have walked away.
Another item that came out in the news is that only 7% of American workers in private business are union members. The BIG union members are those in the PUBLIC UNIONS. They are the ones driving the country, states and counties into bankruptcy!
So what do we have now? Dumbama cowering in a corner, Moocherella filling up on more hate, and Chris Matthews with something besides a tingle running down his leg!
Margin "Slightly Larger" ??
Submitted by Norto on Wed, 06/06/2012 - 7:10am.
AP still has the story line on the win that Walker's margin was "slightly larger" than last time. Is my math wrong that shows the margin to be about 15% or almost 3 times the 5,8% from last time?
Last night's message: Reject negativity and defeatism
Submitted by Unsane on Wed, 06/06/2012 - 7:10am.
Too many - far, far too many - are willing to bury this country, to say that it's best days are behind it, that we are inevitably heading for a world run by America's Scapegoat of China, and so on. There is a vast army of pure, total defeatists and people who wallow in negativity.
Me, on the other hand, while I have my eyes very wide open and can well see what's out there, I just don't have any desire to succomb to that kind of thinking. I'm not about to throw up my hands and give up as so many others are so willing to do.
Last night's events give me the justification to continue to reject the negativity of others and to think to myself "we as Americans can most definitely set this country on thr right track again".

The Biggest Losers of All
Submitted by UncleDirtNap on Wed, 06/06/2012 - 11:14am.
Sure, it's true, Walker and the Republicans won, public sector union, Democrats and the kook left progressives that hold their leash lost last night. The biggest loser those, polling organizations. Well most of them anyway.
While the losers on the left and in the media try to spin exit polling data that is so out of sync with the results as to make it worthless ... take a lesson from what happened to those who were polling before hand and trying to tell everyone how it was going to be a close contest when it never was... they lost what little credibility they had and their models, the same ones they're no doubt going to try to use to convince voters Obama is bound for re-election exposed themselves as so much crap.
Rasmussen, as is now becoming the norm, was the only national organization to get in the same ballpark with the final results, Marquette did nice of state wide operation, but PPP and the rest were nothing short of joke.
In the coming months don't forget what happened in Wisconsin when PPP, GfK, Pew, Gallup, and the rest start dumping push poll results based on fantasy turnout models and try to depress turnout by Obama's opponents.
