Pretty much a ho hum sports weekend unless you like hockey or thug ball. The road to the college series has started with the regionals. I'll watch some of that. Interested to see if South Carolina can make it 3 in a row. I've got a 20 year old austic nephew that lives in Lexington, SC. He loves anything Gamecocks, Can't understand why. He will be at the games in Columbia come hell or high water.
NASCAR at Dover. I'll watch the start and the end. I DVRed the Hatfields and McCoys just for tomorrow.
Not much to talk about sports wise so I'll get back to my politics.
Beautiful Carolina Blue sky. Temps in the upper 70's low 80's. The wife is going to the beach on Camp Lejeune with the grandkids so I have it pretty much to myself.

Say Rick, I see both NC teams are 1 seeds. Think either will make it?

I am sure the Tarheels can get through to the next round. No sure at the Wusspack.
LSU had great season but seemed to falter there near the end. I hadn't heard much about SC or FL until the SEC tournament.

My three year old granddaughter is being Christened tomorrow. Will be a very special event, because she has finally recovered from a series of surgeries on her lungs and heart. She chose her own baptismal name and Mrs. Sam and I bought her a beautiful little gold cross pendant for the event. I get to play the proud grandpa again--a role that never gets old!

From the paper I read seems to me the store manager needs to be held responsible. This is case where I see it being ok to sue the cops and the store.

I never heard about this before. Frightening to say the least! Especially so with the high caliber of individuals working for LVMPD.

Wow, Dave - that's heavy!!! And, as you said, 'unbelievable'..............but it seems that 'unbelievable' continues to become
'believable' more and more these days, in so many different aspects of our society.
This story, unfortunatly, won't get much airplay - the guy was white, an ex-military man, and a successful private citizen. That'll get him no respect or sympathy in this era of 'unbelievablity'...........
Now, if he was a gangsta wearing a hood trying to steal something............................

That's a pretty pathetic list, BK, but as you well know, there are a lot of people with double-digit IQ's, and even some with triple-digit IQ's, who will buy into this horse manure - they did it once, and they'll do it again.

Here in NC the state runs the liquor stores. They are closed on Sundays and all state holidays. The Commiecrats want them to open on Labor Day, start of the Commiecrat convention. The Space Shuttle Enterprise is going to be making its final trip soon. I am looking to cycle up to Fort Wadsworth in Staten Island which has a wonderful view of the Verrazano-Narrows bridge and take video and pictures of the shuttle going under the bridge and into the harbor.
A few years ago I was on the bus heading over the Verrazano heading into work when I looked out and saw the Concorde being barged to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. Sadly I did not have a camera on me so the only image I have is the one in my mind.
Not going to happen this time (unless the weather turns fugly). :-)

There's something you don't see every day. An aircraft carrier with a space shuttle! I'd love to see the catapult they needed to launch that sucker! Who's bright idea was that? That's like putting an ICBM on display in a Civil War era fort.

Our local newspaper, the New Bern Sun Journal, along with all the other Freedom Communications papers in NC and FL have been sold to Halifax Media. Does anyone know anything about Halifax Media? The Freedom papers have been libertarian in their editorials. I don't know if that will carry on. I know that people are no going to put up with a liberal rag in the towns where Freedom now owns papers in NC.

If it's the same deal as ours, some Warren Buffet company has bought all the small, weekly papers in Southwest Virginia. They were already owned by another group. We stopped getting it when they changed the want ads to a regional format and you never knew where a phone number was from. Oh, and it was always about what the hippies were doing too.

Buffet bought the Hickory Daily Record, my hometown paper. They also bought the Statesville Landmark. Those towns are not really that far from you so they must be the in with the SW VA papers.
When I said hometown I acctualy grew up in a small town south of there. It was the only daily in the county. Newton had one published on Mon, Wed, and Fri. The edtiroial content of both were very conservative.

Elizabeth Warren was caught flipping—NOT flip-flopping—by the Boston Herald. And just what was she flipping? Not her wig, or Scott Brown off.
No. Back in Oklahoma CIty in the 90s, she flipped houses, buying foreclosed homes and selling them in short order for big profits. And she nepotinized it too, lending money to relatives for them to do the same.
Read it and grin:
Tu quoque, where is thy sting! Ouch ouch owwww.

Hey!!! She's just keeping up with an old Cherokee tradition of confiscating wigwams from the Indians on the poor side of the encampment, bringing them to the nicer area (down by the river, or on a hillside with a nice view, sprucing them up a little bit with some paint and leather braiding, and then selling them to the wealthier Cherokees for a nice tidy profit!!!

in the Trail of Tears for the Cherokees is accurate.
Her family helped to kick Cherokees off their land in the Georgia mountains and send them packing to the reservations in Oklahoma.

I wonder why she don't claim heritage in the Eastern Band of Cherokees. Seems like most people I talk with have some indian blood. Lot of those are Lumbees. I know I have some Cherokee and can prove it.

They gather in secret to plan our lives for us. They do this all with a veil of protection provided by the Department of Justice and the presidency. The people's congress is fast asleep while the movers and shakers of high finance, media, political heavy weights hob nob a stone's throw away from the nation's capital.
"Oh, don't listen to those conspiracists" goes the neo and liberal conned chorus. "My, my there is nothing to see here. There's no news to bust in Cantilly, so why even mention that the world's power brokers have gathered at another yearly Bilderberg Conference," goes the refrain. "Yawn, yawn." And who is it that lectures us about Neville Chamberlain? That one went over your head, huh?
But they are there, or here, in Chantilly, Virginia. They gather each year for the elite Bilderberg conference this weekend. The growing number of activists from across the political spectrum are arguing that U.S. citizens attending the secret meeting committing a felony by violating the Logan Act.
"The Logan what?"
At the Bilderberg confab will be media magnates, titans of industry, top bankers, influential politicians, royalty and nobility, prominent academics, military and “intelligence” chieftains, and many other members of the so-called “global elite,” claims this website:
Who do you know is on the guest list? The names will be omitted to protect the guilty. But bilderbergist tell us that 50 Americans will attend and they are all very influential. Europe will have representation and China too.
But, hey, if News Busters doesn't see a story here who am I to bust a nut trying to get them to send a reporter over to Chantilly to see if they'll let the NB reporter in to see what the fuss is all about.

Do you remember the Troofers, DUmmies and other left-wing conspiracy theorists (with unadjusted meds, yet!) had the 2008 election being cancelled and all of the lefties being rounded up for "re-education" at Wal-Marts? Why Wal-Mart would want them stinking up their stores is beyond logic (as are most conspiracy theories), but it remained a joke amongst psychiatrists as the "ultimate retail therapy".

I read an article the other day....apparently the Secret Service had the Vietnam Memorial cordoned off for about seven hours on Memorial Day, so The Won could could have his little photo op (the only thing he finds the military useful for, I might add....in his own words, see #141 on "the list").
Of course, his self-aggrandizing pre-emption of The Memorial prevented thousands of people who had a real reason to be there from commemorating their friends and loved ones. All for the sake of a photo op.

Louisiana has joined 18 other states that have passed legislation to limit abortion to 20 weeks. The bill was passed in the house almost unanimously. The Senate is expected to also pass the bill on Monday. Here is interesting point. No major media outlets in La has mentioned the passage of this bill on Friday. The only media source I could find about this bill was at.......Huffington Post....LOL
The money quote was from the head of PP in La and she states......."Doctors, not politicians, should be deciding women's health issues'..... Interesting that an executive who makes big bucks off a business that makes its money off of "womens' health" would never want restrictions on" womens health" that would affect HER income...
