Rush Limbaugh's Time Mag Cover: 'Obama's Child Rearing Technique'
Time magazine shocked the nation this week with a cover photo of a three-year-old boy being nursed by his mother as promotion for its feature article "Are You Mom Enough?"
Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh marvelously lampooned this cover Friday with the headline "Obama's Child Rearing Technique".
""I ordered (uh, asked) the art director at RushLimbaugh.com to redo the time cover with the kid sucking the breast of the Statue of Liberty and re-headline it as 'Obama's Child Rearing Technique,' written by me," Limbaugh told listeners Friday.

Now THAT'S a statement neither Time nor any liberal media publication would have the guts to make!

Leave it to Rush to understand what the MSM don't or won't. An absolute genuis interpretation. Sucking at the teat of society is all liberals/democrats know.

The legal protections for parody are pretty strong, as long as you’re not trying to pass it off as an actual time cover its fine. After all would time really publish something written by Rush Limbaugh?
The kid's not a problem, and parody is protected...

but they're skating close to the edge with the near exact replication of a Time cover. [Note the ending remarks below.]
That said, even the close calls will generally go in favor of the author of the parody.
The bottom line is that when you create a true parody (as seen as such
by the courts), then you are protected. Anyone, of course, may take
issue with your parody but, if suing on this basis was widespread and
effective, then popular magazines like Mad Magazine or sites such as
The Onion would have never existed for long. Mad Magazine continues
to parody anything and everything. There are even Amazon.com and CNN
parody sites. There is even a book titled "Bored of the Rings" which
is a Tolkien parody. Some well-known parody sites are:
The Onion
http://www.theonion.com
Mad Magazine
http://www.madmag.com
Landover Baptist
http://www.landoverbaptist.org
George Bush
http://www.gwbush.com
Also, see the article "Parody Sites Prevail in Court - No one likes to
be made fun of online, but when it comes to the law, you probably have
little recourse." by Matt Gallaway, Feb 13, 2001, and located at
http://www.business2.com/articles/web/0,1653,9452,00.html. He wrote
there "...the American legal system has a long tradition of protecting
parody as free speech under the First Amendment. Cybersquatting laws
aside, our legal system veers toward the side of humor."
Use a similar logo or a send-up of the logo you wish to parody. I
would not recommend using the exact logo or graphic of the
business/company. When you parody, parody *everything*. :)

Perhaps the best parody so far this year because it speaks (to steal a liberal phrase) Truth to Power.

A great parody by the master of true satire. What I'm wondering is why this woman is not in jail for having sex with a child. If her excuse is that it's her child, then that makes it incest, and is even worse. If she was a conservative woman she would already be in jail. More hypocrisy in the MSM.

you freak.
That woman may be nursing her child far beyond our current cultural norms, but she'll be appropriately punished once that kid hits puberty and realizes she humiliated the living crap out of him.
