Jay Leno: Obama's Open Mic Slip With Medvedev 'Doesn't Seem That Weird to Me'

By Noel Sheppard | March 28, 2012 | 08:38

The Obama-loving media clearly weren't concerned by the President's open mic incident Monday when he told Russia's Dmitry Medvedev that he'll have "more flexibility" regarding a missile defense agreement after the elections.

Count NBC's Jay Leno in that camp as he told Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on the Tonight Show Tuesday, "That doesn’t seem that weird to me" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

JAY LENO: Tell me your feeling on this open mic incident. That doesn’t seem that weird to me. You’re talking with someone and they say, “You know, when I get reelected we’ll have more flexibility.” That seems like politics as usual that some things, things that people would say, no?

Well, Jay, imagine for a moment George W. Bush had been caught on an open mic in March 2004 making the same statement to then Russian President Vladimir Putin. The press would have had a field day claiming Bush was hiding something from the American people.

But because the current White House resident is beloved by media members such as Leno, Obama promising a different stance on missile defense after Election Day "doesn't seem that weird."

Funny how that works.

Romney

So, how did Romney respond?

Don't know, but Boner waded in.

Submitted by Newsbubba on Wed, 03/28/2012 - 10:59am.

He wants Republicans to just shut up and not criticize the Dear Leader.

Do you think that the RBFSOB has promised Boner a position in his Politburo when he gets things organized like he wants them?

Do you think that the Boner will be surprised when he gets shipped off to the nuclear waste dump in NV to die as a slave?

Yes to the first question. An even bigger YES to the second.

I take it your are not a fan.

Speaker Boehner simply did not want to discuss it while the President is still out of country representing (supposedly) all of us. The man wants to hold his tongue until the President returns.

“When the president is overseas, I think it’s appropriate that people not be critical of him or our country,” Boehner told reporters after a House Republican conference meeting. “Clearly what’s gone on in Russia over the last couple of years raises some concerns.”

“The Speaker pointed to a speech he delivered last year, in which he criticized the Russian government on a host of issues and warned the Obama administration against expediting its entry into the World Trade Organization.

Here - He gave a whole friggin' speech dedicated to Russia fer heaven's sake.

“Let me start with missile defense.  As you know, one of the first red flags about the ‘reset’ came with the Administration’s decision to cancel the U.S. missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic.  The decision was announced on the 70th anniversary of the Soviet invasion of Poland … with little notice given to Warsaw or Prague.
“The House has gone on record in favor of prohibiting any agreements that limit our missile defense capabilities unless authorized by Congress or a new treaty.  The House has also voted to limit funds for any attempts to share sensitive missile defense technology with the Russians.  We will continue to insist on these restrictions.  They’re just common sense.

It is waaaaaaay past time for "sweet nothings" diplomatic-speak.

Boner needs to light up Obama's ass with a blow torch every time the RBFSOB opens his mouth.

Anything, and everything that the RBFSOB says is a lie, and Boner should cramp it right down his throat in very simple, easily understandable language.

This war has started, and our side is losing.

Can you tell I'm getting pissed yet?

Yeah-no big deal, obviously not with how little attention it gets from the lapdogs, pretty minor stuff compared to say, someone like Dick Cheney calling some asshole a "major league asshole".

Leno's right. It's not a "big deal," and no surprise!

Submitted by Newsbubba on Wed, 03/28/2012 - 10:53am.

Obama is a RBFSOB, and wants to be the Supreme Ruler of the USSA.

Why would it be a "big deal" to see him collaborating with his bros? They need to get all their Shiite together so that when he is reelected (his last election, BTW. After that, we ain't going to have anymore, yo) they can move swiftly to set up the new Axis Powers of the World.

The only "big deal" or surprise here was the fact that it was overheard, and then released to the stupid morons who are his subjects ... us. Somewhere there is a sound technician and the "traitor" who released the recording who better be making plans for some personal protection.

Did the NSA get a copy of that recording for future reference?

The only surprise

Submitted by Cappmann1962 on Wed, 03/28/2012 - 12:09pm.

is that it made the news. I, and most of my knowledgable friends, have been saying for the last year that if Da Wun got re-elected and no longer had to cater to his low-brow, much-stupider-than-him party base, the gloves would come off and he would push for far greater overreach than he already has. One friend even went so far as to suggest the Obamessiah would try to suspend the Constitution because it was getting in the way of his agenda. He's already acted on work-arounds to bypass congress, why not the Constitution? Why do you think he let slip about wanting his own paramilitary police force, equal in firepower to the military, during his campaign (an issue completely forgotten)? He knows the military would never support him if he tried such an act, but if he had his own private army, he could conceivably succeed (at least he'd succeed in starting a civil war).
