Martin Bashir Says Republicans 'Excoriated' Ryan's Previous Budget - 97% of GOP Voted For It!
Showing that he either knows absolutely nothing about current events, or that he's just willing to blatantly lie on the so-called "news" network that foolishly employs him, MSNBC's Martin Bashir falsely claimed Tuesday that Congressman Paul Ryan's (R-Wisc) "previous budget was excoriated by both Republicans and Democrats."
Actually, 97 percent of Republicans that cast votes in the House and Senate approved Ryan's budget last year (video follows with transcript and commentary):
MARTIN BASHIR: In a surprisingly bold move given the way his previous budget was excoriated by both Republicans and Democrats, Congressman Paul Ryan unveiled a new budget blueprint this morning. Unfortunately for large numbers of Americans, it calls for a massive overhaul of Medicare, the slashing of Medicaid, food stamps, Pell grants, and a host of other important programs. And as for the political gamble of introducing a budget during his own Party’s fight for the Republican nomination, well, Mr. Ryan, responding to a question from our own Luke Russert, made it clear that he expects the nominee to follow his lead.
As the New York Times reported on April 15, 2011, 235 House Republicans voted for Ryan's first budget passing it with a 20 vote margin. Only four GOPers were opposed.
In the Senate, the bill got 40 GOP ayes and 5 nays.
This means that in total, 275 of the 284 Republican votes were ayes, or 97 percent.
Is this what Bashir considers "excoriated?"
Even more telling is that this Democrat shill considers it a "political gamble" to introduce a budget during an election year.
As his Party hasn't offered one for over 1,000 days, including during the 2010 election year, it appears he's all for members of Congress shirking their solemn responsibility to pass a budget every year.
Frankly, this idiot shouldn't be allowed to teach grammar school let alone host a nationally televised "news" program.
His employers at Comcast must be so proud.

Why let the facts get in the way of the story?
How did this clown ever land a news job in this country?

Do "progressives" think that everyone with an English accent is intelligent? This dude is either a liar or an idiot -- either of which ought to disqualify him as a newscaster. Well . . . maybe not these days.
In the past anyone with too English of an accent was

Pseudointellectual Marxist media dipsh!ts are about 110% behind Obamao's regime. Their only beef is that our whole system hasn't fallen yet and soon enough. ( ClowardPiven) -- Having Ryan's plan to shoot at is great for crap like Beshir to demagogue.
Below is a story published in USA Today last year - note,...

...it's not a right-wing newspaper.
"...The government added $5.3 trillion in new financial obligations in 2010, largely for retirement programs such as Medicare and Social Security. That brings to a record $61.6 trillion the total of financial promises not paid for.
This gap between spending commitments and revenue last year equals more than one-third of the nation's gross domestic product.
Medicare alone took on $1.8 trillion in new liabilities, more than the record deficit prompting heated debate between Congress and the White House over lifting the debt ceiling.
Social Security added $1.4 trillion in obligations, partly reflecting longer life expectancies. Federal and military retirement programs added more to the financial hole, too.
Corporations would be required to count these new liabilities when they are taken on — and report a big loss to shareholders. Unlike businesses, however, Congress postpones recording spending commitments until it writes a check.
The $61.6 trillion in unfunded obligations amounts to $528,000 per household. That's more than five times what Americans have borrowed for everything else — mortgages, car loans and other debt. It reflects the challenge as the number of retirees soars over the next 20 years and seniors try to collect on those spending promises..."

U.S. funding for future promises lags by trillions - Updated 6/13/2011
BTW, if you analyze the federal and state unfunded liabilities, the amount is over $144 trillion. So by all means Bashir, use political fodder regarding Rep. Ryan's proposed budget and keep telling the fools who watch you that all we need to do to save America is raising taxes on the rich and follow Obama's foolhardy green energy investments while America goes bankrupt.
But, were not spending

As in the Senate's unanimous 97-0 excoriation of Obama's budget.
Would love to see Bashir react to this . .

err . Would love to "have seen" Bashir react to this last year:
Washington – House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan issued the following statement after H.R. 2560, the Cut, Cap and Balance Act of 2011 passed the House of Representatives.
“The House of Representatives continues to advance serious solutions to get our budget on the path to balance and our economy on the path to prosperity. The Cut, Cap and Balance legislation passed today cuts $5.8 trillion in spending over the next decade, locks in those savings with enforceable caps on spending, and forces Washington to finally live within its means with a Balanced Budget Amendment.
“The coming debt crisis is the single most predictable economic disaster in the history of this nation. Unfortunately, the White House refuses to put forth a credible plan to solve our spending problem, and Senate Democrats have not passed a budget in over 800 days. I remain hopeful that responsible leaders will work with us to advance specific solutions that uphold our solemn commitment to leave the next generation with a stronger, more prosperous nation than the one we inherited.”
And then, CNN polled, nationally, discovering that 2/3rds of the public supported just that.
And then, CNN neglected to mention the results of it's poll in it's newscasts.

NBC's got this new drama called "Awake", where a man is in a car accident and apparently get split between two realities, one where his wife survived and one where his son did, and he transfers between them when he goes to sleep.
I can't help but wonder if "reporters" like Bashir are going through the same thing, dividing time between this reality and one where Republicans are psychotic backstabbing murderers, and his show just so happens to be covering his fantasy version of the world rather than the real thing.
Good Grief
