I hope the team with the most points wins.
But ... but ...
Submitted by CO2Maker on Sat, 03/17/2012 - 1:30pm.
Doesn't having more points lead to a disparate impact on the outcome? Why should the point-makers get things the point-missers don't get? Shouldn't Obamacare have a provision to force referees to give points to teams that try to make them? Maybe teams who start two players of high albedo should be granted protected status (but if they start three high-albedo players, they would be hit with a technical foul from the diversity official).
I don't know why they're keeping score.

They keep adding teams to the tournament. They're even talking about 128 teams, which would be another weekend of mega revenue for CBS and allies. The NCAA has 345 Division I teams. Right now, the tournament takes up 1/5 of those teams; at 128, the fraction rises to more than 1/3. When that happens, the regular season will become nothing but a fancier version of the professional preseason warm-up games. Already conference tournaments are being devalued, because highly ranked teams that lose their tournaments know they will be going "dancing."
And the poor NIT is left to pick their teams from the leftovers.
Ain't TV grand? (If you don't think so, I leave you with two words: Brent Musburger, a sanctimonious dweeb exceeded only by Dick Vitale for annoying audiences. But both of them are living [?] proof that anybody can make lots of money in televised sports.)

You know how happy I was last night when DOOK lost. I don't care if they are from the ACC. I wouldn't pull for them if they were playing a team sponsored by Obama.
If you have not watched the pregame or halftime show you have missed Charles Barkly. i suggested yesterday that he co- host with the unreverend Al. It would raise the IQ on that shpw by 10 points.

Obama says he is going to end siubsidies for big oil. As far as I know no money actually changes hands between the\ treasury and the oil companies. Hundreds of millions has changed hands between the treasury, big solar power, big wind power and big algae. Will he end that?

Schumer to Women: "I believe you are all idiots, and I'm out to prove it."
So Schumer is putting crap in the Violence Against Women Act, which would otherwise pass easily, to make Republicans vote against it so Democrats can run out and claim "see, Republicans hate women." He passes himself off as a US Senator?

Agenda 21? What's that?
Submitted by lrgon on Sat, 03/17/2012 - 8:01pm.
Agenda 21 goes down in Tennessee House; travels to Senate for a showdown.
UN "sustainability" schemes had been wracking up city after city to join the UN agenda 21. Agenda 21 is basically a redesign of urban communites to fit UN formula to meet "global warming" models.
NB has of yet not informed its readers about this UN politically driven plot.
Chris Matthews of MSNBC equates agenda 21 to "black helicopters," as per this NB article: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/ken-shepherd/2011/10/12/chris-matthews-moth...
But it's not a joke. The Tennesse legislature which is mostly Republican controlled see no helicopters black or otherwise: http://www.thenewamerican.com/tech-mainmenu-30/environment/11224-tenness...
Yep
Submitted by GregE on Sat, 03/17/2012 - 9:54pm.
I have read some about Agenda 21. It needs much more exposure. The mainstream media certainly isn't going to do it.
I was driving in an area not long ago, passed by an office/industrial park, and the big sign at it's entrance was "The Sustainability Park." Unreal.
Recently my town (NOT a liberal town whatsoever) had a Board of Supervisors meeting, in which they discussed a 20 year plan. Local TEA party group attended and helped expose the Agenda 21 push that was well embedded in the proposals. It was defeated.
Coincidence?

Executive Order National Defense Resources Preparedness
This Fellowship of the Minds coverage of it includes several money quotes, but this one is the most frightening, because of the two words I have in bold.
Sec. 102. Policy. The United States must have an industrial and technological base capable of meeting national defense requirements and capable of contributing to the technological superiority of its national defense equipment in peacetime and in times of national emergency.
IOW, all the authority of the president to take over as a dictator which might be needed in war or in a national emergency apllies in peacetime also.

Submitted by Blonde on Mon, 03/19/2012 - 12:26pm.
My reaction wasn't exactly jumping for joy.
But Timmy, being Timmy, will suck it up, no matter which way it goes. He has flatly refused to be sucked in by the media into making disparaging comments about the Broncos management (although I can easily say Elway sucks!).
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. First, does Elway infuriate the fans and trade The Tebow? The Tebow is a merchandising magnet....his Bronco's jersey outsold everything else last year by a long shot. So if they don't trade Tim, and Manning is awful, do the fans scream TEBOW? (Yep!!!)....does the coach put him in?
Tim will be fine. I hope that if they do trade him, he goes to a halfway decent team.

Well, the Broncs will want to
Submitted by Boudin on Mon, 03/19/2012 - 12:36pm.
Trade Tebow, but I doubt they will get what they want for him. Denver has a good line for the run game, kinda rarity for the NFL. Most teams use a successful Pass game to Run. So they are set at QB
Lets just hope, he goes where they can catch the ball.
Good evening Blonde

I expect that Tim will react with class and survive as he always does. The morons passing themselves off as sportscasters will rake him over the coals and Tim will also take this in stride.
Elway may have taken a few too many to the head in his day.

Submitted by Seashell on Mon, 03/19/2012 - 12:42pm.
I think Tim will ultimately be fine, but it has to be discouraging for him to have pulled off what he did last season and get NO RESPECT WHATSOEVER from Elway or Fox. I just think if Tim had the TRUE backing from his coaches and teammates, and with some experience, he has incredible potential.
In some ways I hope he is traded to a team that will support him, but if he stays in Denver, he could learn a lot from Manning, but that means no playing time.
I don't know. I'm just kind of depressed over it. All I can do is wish Tim the best and pray for him.
What a class act throughout though.
Maybe he lands with the Jaguars. Would be nice for you to have him back in Florida!!
