Baraka Soetoro visited a Rolls Royce engine plant in Virginia. First of all, I didn't even know we had one here. But he took the opportunity to tout American innovation and the fact that we continue to make things in the good ol' US of A.

I was screaming that Rolls is a British company. Why couldn't he have found an American plant that was adding jobs? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for those folks hired on, but Americans also make Honda, Toyotas and BMWs. But the usual liberal line about those jobs is that "the money goes overseas." It doesn't stay in the economy like, oh say, food stamps.

He also praised Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs and a couple of others. That's great, only the ability to do some of the experiment s they did to invent things are now illegal due to the multi layered bureaucracy that is choking this country.

George W. Bush killed the incandesent bulb

Submitted by lrgon on Sun, 03/11/2012 - 7:26pm.

It was George W. Bush's bright idea to kill one of Thomas Edison's inventions. So it isn't only Obama that felt that the bulb was a threat to the planet.

The bill outlawing the incandescent bulb was signed into law by G. "dub-ya" Bush in 2007. The bill was called the Energy Independence and Security Act. Bush killed the bulb long before Obama got the bright idea to use Bush's bulb ban to create more havoc in the market place.

Actually, you are the spammer. File this one under "even a blind squirrel (that be you) finds an acorn every now and then."

This doesn't change the fact that you are a whacked out, bigoted Conspiro who hates every single person on the planet that isn't Ron Paul.

Nor does it change the fact that you aren't going to find fans of Bush here. And sorry, I'm not a party man either.

Now go hit your Conspiro websites and come back to vomit later.

P.S. As your posts seldom have a point - hell, you plagiarize most of them, anyway - yes, I DO need to ask what the point is. Communication is two-way. If you need to be asked what the point is, maybe you ought to go back to the drawing board and see what YOU are doing wrong instead of blaming others for your failings.

I've been a Niner fan

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 7:11pm.

I've been a Niner fan forever.............although I didn't pay much attention for a while after the Montana/Young era, because they didn't do much. I got re-stoked this year, because they were doing well....................but you're probably right about Smith. I was certainly disappointed in his last playoff game - they had their chances, and it seems that Smith wasn't up to the challenge.

Manning is STILL a really good QB with the smarts and experience to be a winner - I don't know why any team wouldn't want him for a couple of years, as a jolt to their own system, along with having some up-and-coming QB learn from the best. How many QB's in the NFL can go out and call their own game, if need be??? Manning is a throwback to another era of QB's who ran the show from the field.

Use your imagination...

If Manning signed on with the Niners, he would have a phenomenal offensive line, and Frank Gore running the ball. He would have some awesome receivers and a good TE. And if that isn't enough, let's not forget about the Niners D.

If Manning signed with the Niners they become officially the scariest team in the NFL next season.

That would be fine with me - although I'm also a Green Bay fan, and they REALLY let me down in their final game - although I think Rodgers played great. I've had trouble warming up to Peyton in the past, but I've never mis-underestimated his abilities as a top-notch QB...........and he IS a throwback, and I like that. I'm guessing that his health is ok???

And, since I'm not 'inside the NFL'.........is there any chance he would go to the Niners???

I realize that if the owner/GM signed Manning, he'd have to go along.  But, I think there's an awful big ego there, totally invested in Smith, because Smith is his creation.

With some hard work and SUPPORT from his coaches he would be amazing. Once Tim settles down and gets his adrenaline under control he is a great quarterback. I think he just needs to know his next game won't be his last, but Elway wouldn't give him that. With the right team, Tim will have it all. Screw Elway! Let them take Manning (I like Manning BTW) but he could very easily get hurt again.

I like T-Bow, and I hope he does well in the NFL...........but he's got a lot of learnin' to do about playing in that league. I don't follow the Dolphins much, because I don't see them much, but maybe that would be a good combination. More on the Broncos

Submitted by Unsane on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 6:59pm.

Having lived in Denver, and knowing quite a few fellow Bronco fans, I can tell you that if Tebow is unceremoniously dumped by the Broncos, there are going to be a lot of very p***** off people in Colorado.

The best thing about the playoff game against Pittsburgh (other than wresting a beer from a Pittsburgh fan silly enough to bet against them) was just looking at the crowd when Thomas scored the touchdown 11 seconds into OT.  I could see enthusiasm and a morale boost for the Broncos fan base that I have not seen in over a decade.  It was uplifting for me as a Broncos fan to see.  Not to mention my own enthusiasm.

I just can't accept that any of this was lost on the #1 man in the Broncos organization - Pat Bowlen.

Evangelist leaves psychiatrist tongue-tied
At what point does it become a baby?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Evangelist and Christian author Ray Comfort, whose new book "Hitler, God, and the Bible" and its accompanying movie "180" are energizing pro-life activists across the nation with a simple, truthful approach to the issue, has left prominent celebrity psychologist Carole Lieberman tongue-tied.

Those who have seen the movie or read the book know that it's a straightforward argument against abortion, comparing the mindless determination that Jews, gypsies and homosexuals in World War II were less than human and could be exterminated to contemporary America's determination that the unborn are less than human, providing a constant stream of death to feed the abortion industry.

Lieberman, who apparently had not been fully briefed on the project by her staff, launched into a discussion only to find out that abortion (she's all in favor) and evolution (she believes in it fully) were being undermined.

"I don't want to talk about Darwin. I don't want to talk about abortion," she exclaimed at one point. "This is not what was ..."

"It's what the book's about," Comfort explained to her. "Did you read the book?"

"You have a publicist. I received his press release," she said.

Comfort asked for the name of his book on which the program was focusing. She responded, "Adolf Hitler, God and the Bible."

Then, "I should be able to talk about God and the Bible," Comfort said.

Comfort explained that as part of his book project he interviewed university students on video, finding out that many of them were unaware of Hitler's extremism and evil.

He explained when he started asking them specific questions, he was able to convince them to take another view of abortion in America. He asked if the students, at the point of a Nazi gun, would use a bulldozer to shovel Jews into a burial pit even if they were alive.

Most said they would refuse.

He then asked a correlating question about abortion: Did they think it's a baby in the womb, and just when is it all right to kill that baby.

The result was a sensational 30-minute documentary, "180," which has been viewed online some 2.4 million times and has had hundreds of thousands more sold.

"This is not good. This is not what I thought we were going to talk about," a surprised Lieberman said.

"You're censoring me," said Comfort.

Listen to their conversation here.

Then the evangelist, who is co-host with actor Kirk Cameron of the popular TV series "The Way of the Master", started pressing Lieberman for answers to the questions he previously asked the students on the video.

"Do you think it's a baby in the womb?"

Lieberman said, "At a certain point ... it isn't at the beginning."

"What point does it become a baby?"

"Well, uh, uh, you know.... I, uh, uh, I, I can't remember right now. Like five weeks ... or some ... there's some point," she responded.

"You really... I really don't think we should go into the abortion issue. ... I think it is a woman's choice," she stated.

"I want to find out why you think that," Comfort responded, noting it's good to have discussions on areas of disagreement.

"I watched the trailer for that movie ... I didn't know the movie was online. The movie has you asking who was Adolf Hitler. I had no clue that it has anything to do with abortion," Lieberman said.

When Comfort explained that many minds have been changed by additional, accurate information, she stated, "I have enough information. You're not going to change my mind."

The evangelist explained how Hitler was a great fan of Charles Darwin, who spoke of the survival of the fittest, and Hitler echoed such beliefs. He said it's likely that Hitler actually determined to kill off segments of society because he would benefit financially by confiscating homes, bank accounts, art work and other valuable resources.

But it wasn't long before Comfort was able to turn the conversation back to the focus on his book: that evil can be overcome by the grace of an all-powerful God.

"You think you've told how many lies?" he asked.

Lieberman wouldn't quantify an answer.

"Ever stolen something?"

"I'm not going to [go there]," she said.

"Used God's name in vain?"

"Yes."

"Looked with lust?"

"As much as possible."

So, Comfort said, Lieberman is a lying, stealing, blaspheming, lusting woman, and God's standard for morality is "perfection." Thus, the need for a redemptive savior.

Lieberman launched then into a long story about a recent movie she'd seen, explaining, "The reason I'm bringing it up is I want to talk about anything except abortion."

Lieberman's biography touts her "multi-dimensional career as an internationally renowned 'Media Psychiatrist'" who is on radio, television and the Internet, in film and print.

"Dr. Carole's insights help people seize the moment to live happier, more fulfilling lives."

She's a three-time Emmy award-winner and has appeared on "Oprah," "Larry King Live," "Entertainment Tonight," CNN, Fox News and others.

She has written "Bad Boys: Why We Love Them, How to Live with Them and When to Leave Them," as well as "Coping with Terrorism: Dreams Interrupted."

"Maintaining a star-studded practice in Beverly Hills, Dr. Lieberman is well known as a psychiatric expert witness who testifies in high profile trials, and analyzes trials in the media. Psychiatrists, psychologists and other mental health professionals hold Dr. Lieberman in highest esteem, recognizing her as a famous psychiatrist who deserves to be called the Dr. Freud of modern times," her publicity explains.

Comfort argues simply that the destruction of a fetus at conception is the destruction of a life.

"If we understand that, we can see that more than 50 million Americans have had their lives destroyed because of legislation that says abortion is OK in America," Comfort said.

The book is the first of a series of titles about cultural and political icons. The next, scheduled for later this year, is called "The Beatles, God and the Bible."

Aloha from a soggy outer

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 3:37pm.

Aloha from a soggy outer island in Asia/People's Republic of Hawaii, boys and girls. It's almost halfway nice this morning, which is encouraging...........but as of about 3 AM last night, there was still a lot of thunder and lightning and rain. I'm hearing that we've have somewhere in the vicinity of 40-50 inches of rain in the last week out here...........and I wouldn't doubt it - I've been on this island, and on the north shore, since the late 60's, so I've seen a lot..........and this past week has been intense.

There's a big strong bridge about a mile from my house that goes across a valley, and it's been closed twice this week due to landslides and trees falling across the road..........and I've maybe seen it closed twice before that - over the years. There's a collapsed highway about 1/4 mile away, going the other direction from my house, that is a real nightmare - and the county had to cut in another 'road' during that weather to accomodate the people who drive towards the east side for work - and that was a mess too. Needless to say, my new jobsite is a muddy mess, and we haven't worked in over a week. I've also got a tree laying down in my yard - but it didn't land on anything. I don't think anyone is hurt around here, but I think there's a lot of clean-up and flood damage going on, along with the rest of the mess.

I've got to have some empathy for the tourists, because this isn't what they come to Hawaii for...........and I understand that tourism has been good lately, which is a boon to the economy here in Asia.

And sometime soon, I'll be out surfing in beautiful clear warm water, in perfect waves, looking at the mountains and the sky and the beach, and I'll forget about this past week!!! But it would be nice to do some work........I'd like to get paid!!!

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 4:39pm.

That's 'kalua' pig, Shawn.............and SPAM is NOT food!!! Actually, I don't eat too much of that luau food............I'll eat a little kalua pig, with the steamed taro greens..................I don't really like poi, but fried or baked taro is pretty good - I've made 'taro burgers' out of it. I also like the baked in the 'imu' (underground oven) purple sweet potatoes, and any meat that comes out of an imu is tastier than any other preparation.

I don't eat much local-style plate lunches either - they have become too starchy and filled with carbohydrates over the years, with a lot of white rice, macaroni salad, and greasy meats. There's a reason why there is so much obesity in this state. But if a food is well-prepared and healthy, I'm probably going to eat it - although I don't eat much meat. I like the deep-sea gamefish here, especially the 'ono', which I think is also called 'wahoo'..................lean, boneless white meat - great on the BBQ.

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 03/10/2012 - 4:13pm.

This comes under the 1+1=3 category of a post....................I'm just readin' (Obamaspeak) that Boy Baraka is out flappin' the ol' purple lips again - about tryin' to save people money at the pump, and doin' the best he can about the gas prices, and how 'alternative energy' is gonna be the future, since oil is the 'fuel of the past'. And he's givin' his same song and dance about the USA usin' 20% of the world's energy, when we're only 2% of the population - or whatever ficticious fractions he uses to try and prove his point.

And, in the same breath, he's blamin' the Republicans for gettin' in his way, and wantin' to 'drill our way out of the problem', and how it's gonna be takin' too much time to figure out why this Keystone pipeline can, or cannot, be built.........as well as all the time it's gonna take to see any results from any other drillin'.............and all the rest of that lib/environmental crap. Hell, if ANY of this activity took HALF the time that these dimwits have been predicting, and we'd have done it anyway, we'd be pumpin' all sorts of oil and gas, and our gastanks wouldn't be takin' a godd*mn C-note to fill up thse days!!!

Yet, I believe that yesterday, Boy Baraka was at a couple of 'fossil-fuel driven' automobile and machine-building plants, braggin' about how 'America was coming back', and how these companies were leading the charge. And I'm pretty sure that they AREN'T driving around with solar panels on their roofs or windmills on their hoods or algae-converting mechanisms in their trunks!!!

Jeez, Mabel, I'm tellin' ya........................you CAN'T make this 'stuff' (one of Boy Baraka's favorite words, along with 'things') up!!!

And the StateRun Media dutifully reports this, as well as the psuedo jobs and unemployment numbers, as TROOF!!!

UNBELIEVABLE! Nicole Wallace, John McCain's

Submitted by Rush Fan on Sun, 03/11/2012 - 2:20am.

2008 campaign aid assigned to Gov. Palin, did NOT vote in that year's presidential election because she felt Sarah Palin was unfit to be vice president.

From Daniel Fincke at freethoughtblogs.com:

Tonight HBO is airing the movie Game Change, which is based on the book with the same name and tells the story of Sarah Palin’s selection as John McCain’s 2008 running mate in his campaign for president. Spoiler alert, at the film’s conclusion, Nicole Wallace, the McCain 2008 campaign aid charged with managing Sarah Palin, opts not to vote rather than to cast a vote for Sarah Palin to be Vice President. She talked about her real life decision not to vote for Palin in an interview the other night with Lawrence O’Donnell about the campaign and the new film.

Read the rest of the article at freethoughtblogs.com. Daniel Finke also provided the link to the VIDEO of Wallace's interview with MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell.

I'm having difficulty finding a word or phrase that suitably describes Nicole Wallace.

Or the irony would be too much even for him.

From Luke 18, with a little paraphrasing--

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee Democrat, and the other a (Re)publican. The Pharisee Democrat stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this (Re)publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes taxes of all that I possess.
And the (Re)publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me, a sinner.

I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

silliness bordering on blasphemy

Submitted by lrgon on Sun, 03/11/2012 - 10:19pm.

Who are you kidding? The Republicans are pure of heart?

God looks into man's heart. Both republicans and democrats played the part of the pharisees. Remember what the Tea Party said about RINOS?

Look at what they do not what they say.

Our Lord advised us that if you wish to know the person clothed in sheep's clothing look at their actions. The Lord says that an evil tree cannot produce good fruit and a good tree cannot produce bad fruit.

Matthew 7, 15: "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them."

Both poltical party's leadership is rotten fruit.

But in case you've forgotten what rotten fruit looks like: Bush bailed out the banks and Obama bailed out the banks too. Bush increased the federal bureacracy ( NCLB, DHS) and Obama nationalized health care companies, auto companies and signed a stimulus bill. Bush sent an army looking for WMD's that didn't exist and Obama sent an army to Libya to show neocons that he is a neocon too.

It's gets old reminding people that refuse to open their eyes to see and stubbornly plug their ears to hear. But patience is a virtue.

Alan Grayson--"Dear Lord, thank God I'm a Democrat" (which doesn't even makes sense, because why would you speak in the third person of the person to whom you are speaking?) "And thank God I did not have to vote in the Republican presidential primary, they’re all a bunch of losers"

Pharisee-- "God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican."

They're both thanking God that they're better than other people. It doesn't matter what the political affiliation of a person uttering such a prayer is, the point is that the arrogance displayed runs utterly counter to the Spirit whom they are supposedly addressing. Therein lies the irony.
