McCain Endorses Rubio for Vice President
John McCain Wednesday endorsed Florida Senator Marco Rubio to be the Republican nominee for Vice President this November.
This was in response to Jay Leno's question regarding the matter on NBC's Tonight Show (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
McCain also mentioned New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as an option, "But I served with Marco Rubio. He's an amazing talent."
Then McCain joked, "Remember, the Vice President only has two duties. One, in the case of a tie vote in the Senate, he comes and breaks the tie."
"The other responsibility," McCain continued, "is to inquire daily as to the health of the President. So it's not really a demanding job."
That said, it's interesting to note McCain backed Charlie Crist over Rubio in Florida's senatorial primary in 2010.

Pitiful John will do anything to have his name mentioned.
Love Marco Rubio but McCain needs to do him a favor and not do him any favors.
Sounds like...

... John "I would rather lose a campaign" McCain just ruined any chance for Rubio's future in politics.

That was my first thought, Grump. But then, Mr. McCain did pick a "winner" for himself. :-)

... and picking Sarah was his last one, I believe.
McCain came to my town to campaign for reelection in 2010 and the town was all a-twitter with enthusiasm. Of course this town get's all excited when a real celebrity shows-up - You know, a 'real celebrity,' such as someone who was once a contestant on “Wheel-of- Fortune.”
- Grump :o)
Sanity, what is that? :-)

Yah, reckon you're right 'bout that. I do honor Mr. McCain's military service to his country, as I do all who've served or are serving, but hey, a RINO is a RINO. Sigh.
This opens up the question....

Is Marco Rubio a "natural born citizen"? I love Rubio and think he would make a tremendous Senate Majority leader. However according to the only SCOTUS ruling that mentions "Natural Born Citizen", one has to be born in the jurisdiction of the USA to parents who are both US citizens. I'm not sure that he qualifies in this regard. We know that B. H. Obama does not.

Rubio has made it clear that

Rubio has made it clear that he does not want to be anyone's running mate. He's smart to stay put in Florida. He knows his time isn't now, but in the future. He'll definitely run for President in 2016 or 2020.

...and take his daughter with him. Leave Marco alone. He has already stated numerous times he's where he wants to be, for now.
Mitt is going to win the nomination. No doubt in my mind. And when he does, I'll support him. I'll support him enthusiastically if he'll pick Allen West as his running mate. To my way of thinking, Allen West has all of the pizzaz that Sarah Palin does, he's brilliant, articulate, has a brain like a steel trap for facts/figures, and is quick witted with a great sense of humor.....plus he'll nullify quite a bit of Obama's automatic black vote.
Allen is fierce. He's a natural leader. He has a finely tuned mind regarding foreign affairs, due to his former profession. Allen is a million pounds of win. And I think he'd be a perfect foil for Romney's weaknesses.

Romney will most likely pick

Romney will most likely pick Bob McDonnell in VA or Nikki Haley in SC as his running mate.
