Howard Kurtz on Maher's Obama Donation: 'There’d Be a Bigger Fuss if Dennis Miller' Gave to GOP Candidate
As NewsBusters reported Friday, HBO's Bill Maher recently gave $1 million to pro-Obama Super PAC Priorities USA Action.
On CNN's Reliable Sources Sunday, host Howard Kurtz correctly observed, "There’d be a bigger fuss if comedian Dennis Miller gave a million dollars to a pro-Romney or a Santorum Super PAC" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
The Baltimore Sun’s David Zurawik agreed saying, “I think there would be more push, he would have gotten more heat from the press.
On a humorous note, Kurtz asked TVNewser’s Gail Shister, “Maher does routines making fun of Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich, are people going to say, 'Well, he’s pushing an agenda?'”
Shister marvelously replied, “I can’t imagine because the people who watch Maher are not going to accuse him of pushing an agenda, and his fans who love him the most usually are chemically altered and I don’t even think they’ll notice.”
Kurtz somewhat pushed back moments later, “In defense of Bill Maher, I think some of his fans have got to be sober.”
Yeah - the designated drivers.
Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.

Truth...............and imagine if TIM TEBOW gave a donation like that!!!! And I still doubt that this was all of Donkeyface's money either...........I'm sure there is - to quote the late, great Paul Harvey - the REST of the story.
The website Yahoo, Bill Maher, and Barack Obama

Yahoo is nothing more than a filthy communist pimp that sleazily wants to jam Bill Maher, George Soros and Obama's Marxist agenda down the throads of every American against our will. Hell, I read an article on Friday in Yahoo's AUTOMOTIVE section that was hell bent on smearing Allen West and his displeasure of it costing $70 to fill his Hummer. I have a 2010 Nissan Ultima HYBRID and it cost me $75 to fill my tank last weekend. Yesterday, it was a sports section blog(hit)piece on a Virginia Football Player on a hunger strike against the low wages of the University 's SERVICE UNION WORKERS. I am now considering dumping Yahoo and going somewhere else.

Dennis Miller has credibility. Dennis Miller is clever and smart and genuinely funny. Miller isn't strictly a vulgar, misogynistic egomaniac. Dennis Miller never went on national TV and said that Brazil was on ethanol (Maher wasn't even man enough to admit he was wrong, he blamed George Will for picking on him. Curious, has BM ever been invited to do that Sunday Morning network show again?). Miller doesn't (I don't believe) give any credence to Sharpton or Kos or Huffington or any of a dozen other hacks that BM has as regulars. I doubt if Miller thought the expression "tea-baggers" was ever funny or clever, let alone the hundreds of times BM used it.
BM also once said something about Mrs. Palin and Rick Perry that was completely nonsensical and un-funny and racist and sexist...that I don't believe anyone ever spoke out against; not Sharpton, not NOW, certainly not the most divisive administration in history. I REALLY hope anyone that needs to cancel HBO has done so.
Dennis Miller also was a liberal who had an epiphany

After 9/11 he re-evaluated his stance on many things. He is very intelligent. Intelligent enough to know he needed to rethink his stance. BM will always be what he is because he is a liberal first. No matter what, in his mind, you are an idiot. He doesn't need to re-evaluate his stance because he is smart and you are dumb. Get it, stupid? (liberally applied sarcasm)

Sounds to me like this bag of doosh will claim that it is strictly a volunteer effort to be taxed. And another thing......this guy, no matter what, accuses Republicans as fanatics that put politics before country. Well, this hypocrite exposed himself OF DOING THAT PARTICULAR CHARGE. Do as I say, not what I do.
What Kurtz is admitting

What Kurtz is admitting is that liberals are hypocrites.... and he is one of the biggest of all.

Maher - let's be clear, Howie Kurtz

Kurtz: “When Maher does routines making fun of Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich
Bill Maher doesn't usually do routines making fun of conservatives, Howie; rather, as we have all observed, he does "routines(?)" in which he smears them - others - other groups - other orgs - their religion - their political beliefs - the family belief system - whatever. Bill Maher spews intolerance, hate, vitriol and decisive language at those who do not share his little 1% elitist leftist view of his small isolated world. He clearly meets the definition of a bigot.
The public display of intolerance and hate mongering, Howie, is not called, "making fun," of someone.

I can't get past Maher having a million to spare. Did we really make him that wealthy? For the second time in my adult life, I am embarrassed for my country.
Maher must have been high as a kite when he wrote that check

Maher gave a million dollars to a moron, Bill Burton, who will spend the money airing a lousy 30 second commercial one time.
