Trump Calls MSNBC's O'Donnell 'Dumbest Man on Television' - 'Poor Man's Ed Schultz'

By Noel Sheppard | February 10, 2012 | 10:16

Noel Sheppard's picture

With the number of numbskulls on the airwaves today, I'm not sure I'd called MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell the dumbest man on television.

But that's how real estate tycoon Donald Trump referred to the "Last Word" host on Twitter Thursday also calling him the "poor man's Ed Schultz...and Al Sharpton":

Lawrence O'Donnell will soon have another cancelled show to go along with his three cancelled TV series, "Mister Sterling", "The Kill Point" and "First Monday". @lawrence is a poor man's Ed Schultz (who replaced @Lawrence) and Al Sharpton. He was moved to 10PM due to bad ratings and taken off Friday due to being totally irrelevant. He desperately needs to keep making up false statements about me to get attention. Without clips of me, his show would be completely dead and he knows it. As I have said many times before @Lawrence is the dumbest man on television. He is only angry because I would never have wasted my time doing his completely irrelevant show.

As the Huffington Post observed Thursday, this is just the latest salvo in an ongoing feud between the two.

As for who the dumbest man on television is, Al "Resist We Much" Sharpton probably beats O'Donnell for this dishonor.

Who's your pick?

Associate Editor’s note: As you are likely aware, since the financial collapse of 2008, charities and non-profit organizations have seen a sharp reduction in donations. Although the environment has improved, contributions are still nowhere near where they were prior to the recession. Unfortunately, the Media Research Center has not been immune. With this in mind, your support has become more important than ever. With a critical election approaching, the liberal media needs to be monitored 24/7. As we have been predicting for months, the press are willing to do anything to get their beloved politicians elected and/or reelected. As such, we need your help to fight this fight. Any contribution, even $10, is greatly appreciated. Please consider a tax-deductible gift to the Media Research Center to help us battle the liberal media. Thank you.

Special Ed Schultz

Submitted by Galvanic on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 10:28am.

I think he's dumber than Sharpton.

Sharpton ain't all that intelligent, but he's clever. Schultz is outright stupid.

To paraphrase the late Barry Goldwater (who was talking about a Republican Senator from Virginia): "If the guy were any dumber, he'd be a tree."

That really is a tough one. Since Joe Biden isn't in the running, I'll go with Larry. "Resist we much" knows exactly what he's doing even when he doesn't know what he's saying.

Skit idea............

Submitted by Tomorama on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 10:31am.

I am no fan of Trump at all, but he is spot on here.

I am reminded of the old SNL skit where they mock Jeopardy.

Al Charlatan, Niles Crane and the Sarge would be that IN REAL LIFE.

Can Will Ferrell be a good little leftist and come back and do it just one time?

How did people attack each other before twitter?

Submitted by SickofLibs on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 10:46am.

I prefer the good ole days when you just walked up to someone and punched them in the nose.

IMO, these twitter-war things are pretty childish no matter who's involved.

Submitted by NCfairandbalanced on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 10:51am.

I would like to think that O'Donnel, Sharpton, Matthews and Shultz are just actors playing dumb to woo their liberal watchers on a network they would obviously turn to.

One would like to think there is no one (outside of a mental institution or people who are disturbed, and they can't help it) that sick or that stupid...ON PURPOSE!!!

Even the average Joe, forget that these people are on television!

Larry O, Special Ed, Butch Maddow, Prissy, that Fox News The Five douche bag Bobby Beckel, or any of the other "white boys" could easily win the honor on any given night.

Is there a group award for, say, a group of 10 commentators who's combined IQ is less than Special Ed's waistline measurement?

Yo bubba, you be tawkin' TROOF!!! And, while we're on the subject of dumb - I'm reading (very early this morning on an outer island in Hawaii) - about Moooooooooochelle going to some military base and telling the troops to eat their fruits and vegetables, which I guess is her version of 'eat your peas'. I wonder if she did some tug-o-war and dropped down to demonstrate to these stupid hick military types how to do push-ups too................obviously she knows more about everything than anybody. Kinda like her punk-ass husband.

I don't know how our incompetent military has made it this long without her leadership.

I use the gym at a local base every morning, and I can tell you that any fat sailors are in there early in "fat class" busting their asses.   This is supervised stuff, and they keep records on your weight and performance.  If you ain't losing it, they'll lose you.

I feel much safer, though, now that The Clydesdale has stepped in to take over the operation.  Exactly how many buckets of oats and bales of hay do she consume a day, yo?  I guess her dream is for every military man and woman to have an ass as slim and trim as her's.

BOB and the Hoi Polloi

Submitted by CO2Maker on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 11:47am.

Didn't Senator Obama stop by a restaurant to rub elbows with the hoi polloi and order *arugula* salad? Huh? Arugula? What is that, the sound the submarine klaxon makes when the captain orders it to dive? (You know, "Dive, dive!" and the XO pushes the button and you hear "Arugula! Arugula!" Then the helmsman says, "Planes are down 5, captain!")

Who did BOB think he was, Swiftboat Kerry slumming it at Wendy's and ordering Grey Poupon on a burger (or was it brie on a Philly cheesesteak sub?), after he saw the good press John Edwards was getting for the way he and Elizabeth celebrated their wedding anniversary at Wendy's. (He celebrated his wedding anniversary in other ways with his campaign staff.)

That's exactly the sound a submarine makes when it's diving..............and, as we heard in the fading refrains of 'Yellow Submarine' - 'Paul is a queer............Paul is a queer'!!!

I've seen a LOT of photos of Boy Barry eating junk food - stuffing it down his big purple lips. And you KNOW he doesn't get between Mooooooooooooooochelle and an expensive steak, or high-priced liquor, or deep-fried Snicker Bars!!! The last thing I'd want to do is listen to this ditzy delusional dilletente telling me about anything!!!

Yeah..........I can imagine Boy Blunder pulling a John F**king Kerry at Wendys.......................'Hey there, can Ah git me one of them there double-cheeseburgers with bacon'................

There's an odd fascination with Trump . . .

Submitted by Galvanic on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:39pm.

. . . among some conservatives that hold him out as some sort of conservative icon; Fox News drools over this guy.

He's anything but conservative.

Like most big real estate moguls, he gets into bed with local and state governments when it serves his purpose.  He doesn't give a damn about you or me if we stand in the way of him making some $$$.

Google Vera Coking to see how Trump used the government of Atlantic City to implement eminent domain on her in order to seize her home and give the property to him to be turned into a VIP parking lot.

Trump merely balks at all the zoning, building, and tax codes he has to put up with.   If he can get government to give him a break on them while imposing them on his competition, he's satisfied.

He may be a shrewd businessman -- although he's declared bankruptcy two or three times -- but he's not that smart on public policy.

I would go with:

1. Bob Schieffer (no one else even close)
2. Brian Williams (a walking talking screwdriver)
3. L. O'Donnell
4. R. Maddow (isn't she/he a man???)
5. Matt Lauer
6. Bryan Gumball (as in gum ball)
7. The Dwarf
8. Anderson Cooper
9. Scott Pelly
10. Al Sharpton

My list of dumbest goes like this:

1. Sharpton - can't even speak the language.

* SFWT - stick-figures with t1ts; Mika, Curry, Couric

Sharpie Sharpton or Leroy O-Donnell... Tough Call

Submitted by Motormouth KOS on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 2:55pm.

I think I could stipulate that Sharpie is "technically" dumber than Leroy, but....

It is interesting when you hold up Leroy's record of being put on the air and then immediately removed.  It's like he does the interview, the MSM suits start peeing themselves cause he sounds so good, but then they put him on the air and everybody turns the channel.

Let's not split hairs!

  1. Al Sharpie is dumber
  2. Leroy O'Donnell is incompetent

O'Donnell vs Sharpton

Submitted by mmilesll on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 4:32pm.

Isn't it hard enough with all the pressure in our daily lives to have to decide who is the dumbest man on TV. And on Friday, of all things, making a earth shattering decision like this will put even more pressure on each of them to act even dumber to win the title.

Submitted by jpwcpa on Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:12pm.

Because he is no longer on the little-watched MSNBC, we tend to forget about Keith Olbermann. Not many people know this, but he actually has a show on the network called Current TV. Keith's poor MSNBC ratings are starting to look like the Super Bowl compared to how many people tune in to his current version of Countdown. Considering the supremely dumb business decisions he has made during his television "career", I submit that KO is the equal of any of MSNBC's dumbest.

is a link to a VIDEO of Trump lambasting Lawrence O'Donnell and Rosie O'Donnell that was linked on the Puffington Post.

Although Trump's arrogance is somewhat of a turn off to me, his denouncement of Obama, O'Donnell and other Leftists is very appealing and appears to be effective. Consequently, I look forward to Trump continuing his condemnation of Obama and his destructive policies until we take back the Presidency and the Country in the forthcoming election. Trump may be more valuable (and less costly) than one of our Super PACs.
