Between Bowl games, the end of the NFL regular season, basketball, and hockey, there's got to be something on your mind.
As 2011 draws to a close, what was the finest sports moment of the year?

The Packers winning the Super Bowl, of course!

They'll beat the Pats like red headed step children.

I'm with you, I hope to see them win back to back titles like they did in SB I and II. They almost had another set in 96/97 before they were way too over confident against the Broncos. I just hope the defense steps it up.

I have an 18 year old autistic nephew. He told his mother that he was not going to school on Monday because the Gamecocks were playing. (SC has been out of school for 2 weeks They are not getting off Monday) He is crazy about the Gamehens.
My team is out of it. Thanks goodness we'll have a real coach next year in Larry Fedora. I still can't figure out why the Pontiff hired Everett Withers at Buckeye U.
So on to the bowl games. Go Gators, Go Dawgs, Go Hookies, Go Yellow Britches and Go Cavaliers. A win by the boys from Charlottesville over Awlbern would be one of the great wins in their history. I am even going to hold my nose and say go ClemPson. Just can't hold it long enough to pull for the Gamehens.
Monday is going to be a bleak day in the NFL. If the Cowboys lose I look for Garrett to get the boot. If the NY football Giants lose I look for Couglin to be run out of NJ.If the Giant win and lose in the first round I look for Couglin to be packing the moving van. Pretty sure that Shanahan will be gone from the Deadskins, Norv Turner will be unemployed again and the Rams will be looking for a new coach. Bill Cowher, Jon Gruden and Jeff Fisher are waiting for a call.
The Falcons backed into the playoffs after Da Bears lost. Tommorrow's game will decide if they have to play the Saints again in the first round of the play offs.
Win tomorrow against the Chiefs and the Broncos are in. Go Timmy.

Even if Garrett gets the boot, it won't matter as long as Jerry Jones is the GM. The Cowboys will continue to be mediocre.

We are rooting for those Commodores
7 up right now

The one thing I've learned about Vandy football over the years: expect the worst and you generally won't be disappointed.

They finally get the lead, only to allow the Bearcats to run back the Kick-off, good grief.
Bearcats up 24-21

It's the constant sense of impending doom.

I don't think that was a TD.
If I were Paul Johnson, I would have been raising holy Hell.
Vote for the American in November

Easy. The Mavs getting revenge on the cHeat and winning their first NBA title. The Rangers would have been right there, but their loser closer Feliz couldn't seal the deal after being ONE strike away from winning their first MLB world championship.

So far the ACC bowl teams have let me down. Only FSU Criminoles and the NC State Ratpack have won their games. Let's hope it gets better in a hurry. The ACC is 2-11 in BCS games. Here's hoping after next Saturday it will be 4-11 not 2-13.

I DO NOT want us to have to face the Aints in the first round of the playoffs.

LOL - And there is still 10 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. :-D

to make a 7th round draft choice, and a perpetual back-up, look like an All-Pro. A guy that's started two games in 4 years manages to throw 6 touchdown passes?
This was worse than the showing they put up against the 3rd string back up of Vi-Queens a few games back.
If your quarterback manages to throw for 470 yards and 5 TDs, it really should inspire your defense enough to win the game.

You get the Saints 1st string QB next week. : ]

Brees is already an All-Everything, and should be the MVP, so he doesn't need to be made to look good by a defense that wants to make every QB look like the second coming of Bart Starr or Roger Staubach. Not that I have any doubts as to how good they'll make Brees look.

It's gotten to a point where unless a QB passes for at least 400 yards and 3 or 4 TDs, he's had a bad game.
On the other 'hand', the first twenty years I watched pro football, I think I saw a total of maybe four or five really good one-handed catches by a receiver. Now there's at least a couple in every game.

Artificial turf, especially the new stuff, gloves and Domes. Oh, and year round training for the players.

Lions should have won the game but Stafford panicked and threw a pick. They just aren't ready yet to make a deep run in the play-offs. Saints will have no mercy on them.
