Can anyone in football NOT come up with something different than the Gatorade shower for a big victory? Is that all there's ever going to be? It killed George Allen.
And "soccer-style" kickers. After 40 years kicking an American football, is there not ONE kicker that can back up diagonally, rather than straight back and then side stepping?

Gotta agree with you on the Gatorade thing, Tugboat..

Oh yeah...the 'evil to triumph' deal? Booooo!

The kicker deal doesn't bother me as much as it perplexes me. I understood when most of the kickers were foreigners and were never around American football. But now we have kids born and raised here that have seen football and soccer, yet still can't just line up the kick and step diagonally to the starting spot.
Should I have substituted Communism for Evil in that tag line?
Soccer 'style" works better, Tug.

When my daughter was in middle school, she could kick field goals from the 20 yard line. She weighted a whopping 90 pounds.
She had been playing soccer from the day she could walk, so she had developed a lot of power with great technique, and she had tremendous accuracy.
It's just a fact that a kicker can get more strength and velocity on the ball if they're a sidewinder.

I don't think that the coaches or the owners would care if their kicked back-heeled the damn football, just as long as it went between the goalposts.............................and it might be kind of novel to see a 'toe-jammer' in the NFL, but the bottom line is always going to be making the kick. And you don't really see too many, if any, toe-jammers floating around these days.
You'll love this one, Killa.

My baby had seen the videos of Maradona's (The hand of God) scoring on the kickoff in a game. She was dying to try it just once.
On the kickoff, the ball was kicked forward, then back to her behind the midfield stripe. The other goal keeper was standing on her 18 cheering on the defense, when darlin' unloaded the ball. It went over the keepers head (she never even saw what happened) bounced about 2 feet in front of the goal and went in.
It could have been about a 35-40 yard field goal in football. It had that much height, and was dead down the middle.
She also used to try to get away with the "Hand of God" move, but managed it only once.

Romney was accused of using a Klan slogan by muckracker
Submitted by lrgon on Sat, 12/17/2011 - 1:04pm.
The blogger Aravosis tried to paint Romney as a klansman because Governor Romney happened to use in his stump speech "keep America American," which the left wing blogger said originated with the KKK.
The ACLU, a famous leftist lawyers organization founded by socialist Roger Baldwin advised his followers to wrap themselves up in the American flag in order to hide their motives to move the nation toward socialism. What does nervosis Aravosis thinks of the ACLU? Would he paint the ACLU as a skinhead loving outfit? I doubt it.The contoversial lawyers group defended neo Nazis to parade their group in Skokie,Illinois. The ACLU lawyers sided with the Nazis against the wishes of the city fathers of Skokie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Socialist_Party_of_America_v._Vill...
In like manner the klan uses patriotic sounding slogans to con members into joining their ranks.
That is not to say that politicians and federal judges haven't associated with the KKK to advance their political ambitions. Harry Truman (President) Hugo Black (US Supreme Court Justice)and Robert Byrd ( US Senator)were dues paying members of the KKK. Byrd was a recruiter for the Klan and was called "Exalter Cyclops" in his local Klan. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ku_Klux_Klan_members_in_United_States_politics

A few years back I had to go to training on gangs. The instructor talked a lot about Larry Hoover and the Gangster Disciples. Even though he is in the super max federal pen in Florence, CO he still has a lot of effect on Chicago politics. I am hearing stories now that the gangs are being consulted before any decisions are made by Dead Fish. Any of y'all around that area hearing about this? When we talk about Chicago politicians like Bambi being thugs, well they really are run by thugs. i am going to do some more research into this because it could very well tie Obummer to many of the Chicago gangs. Make that association more well known than coffee with cream, Joy Behar and stupidity, and Baba Wawa and her speech impediment. Make sure to mention the OWS/Odimbulb connection in every political advertisement with a slogan like "Do you want four more years of THIS?" and show as much imagery connecting the criminal and antisocial behavior with OWS and Odimbulb.

Aloha everyone from the north
Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 12/17/2011 - 10:53pm.
Aloha everyone from the north shore of an outer island in Hawaii!!! I've just come back from another nice Saturday at the beach, playing music while the volunteers took a wide variety of kids and grown-ups who have a wide variety of mental and physical handicaps into the water and catching some waves, as well as eating lunch and enjoying a nice day at the beach.
We had a couple of extra musician friends with us today - both of them professionals - and I've got to say that we nailed some pretty damn good material, and basically all of it 'jamming' and just doing it on the spot!! We even had some 4-part vocals going on pretty well!! And I'd look around, and the participants, volunteers, and guests would be tapping their feet or nodding their heads or just boppin' around. I can tell that we're really flying when this one little boy - who is wheelchair bound and probably severly mentally challenged too - is jumping up and down and smiling and attempting to clap his hands, with a huge smile on his face. To me, that is success!!!
I was actually too beat after 4 straight hours of playing and singing to go surfing, so I just hung out and had a cold beer and talked to some people and enjoyed the afternoon. I can go surfing tomorrow.

Thanks........that's a cool little video. It looks like it might have been made last spring, since there are a LOT more participants and volunteers these days, as well as equipment. They have about 6 portable tents that they set up, a nice big BBQ, a big trailer for the back of Kurt's truck - he's the Chinese/Hawaiian guy in the video with the hat and clipboard - He's a fire captain and also a really good surfer - and there are a lot more people just coming around and checking it out.
As soon as I finish my coffee, I'm off to the surf, which is still overhead and pretty nice, from the reports I've gotten. I never do the 'dawn patrol', because there is a hardcore group of surfers who are on it every morning at dark.........so I try to show up about the time they are coming in.
Oh - since we had 6 musicians playing yesterday, and we were having a pretty good time of it - as well as the fact that we are all a little 'off kilter' - we were trying to come up with a name for our 'band' for these events. I think we settled on Da KORE Krew, although I was pushing for Hard KORE!!!! I think I got nixed!!!
Enjoy, Killa. You're doing God's work, bubba.

If you want more energy I recommend Cuban bread.
An 80 year old friend of mine was resting on the beach when his 82 year old friend came jogging by. My buddy stopped him and said, "Where do you get all the energy?" The 82 year old said, "I eat Cuban bread. It gives me loads of energy and gives me a lot of stamina with the ladies, if you get my drift."
Well, my friend went straight to the Cuban bakery and ordered five loaves of bread. The little lady who runs the store asked if he was having a party, and he said that no, it was all for him.
She said, "You know it's going to be really hard before you finish the second loaf, don't you?"
He threw up him hands and said, "Am I the only person on this island who doesn't know about this stuff?!?!?"

Jer
Maybe so
Submitted by bkeyser on Mon, 12/19/2011 - 9:43am.
but O was bragging in his weekly speech about ending the war in Iraq; you know, a campaign promise.
It's an admirable and reasonable goal to want to end the war in Afghanistan as well, the problem is he's looking to be conciliatory in doing so. He's offering up GITMO troops in exchange for a proclamation by a non-governmental entity; essentially a Bedouin tribe. There's a reason there are still terrorists in GITMO, and they all revolve around the fact that the ones remaining are so heinous that we can't risk a civilian trial for fear they might be released yet here's your boy making that very offer in exchange for a promise ring.
This is why Obama gets the appeasement label; you want to win the war, you do it with overwhelming force. You break the will of the enemy. You remove his ability to fight. You don't ask for his forgiveness and give away your prized possessions.
And it's pretty hard to try Bush and Cheney for war crimes when you're prosecuting the same wars using even less transparent methods.
