Weekend Sports Open Thread

A  A

I know we've got Army-Navy today, but what does one do on a Saturday without a full complement of college football games?

Anything else of sports interest this weekend apart from tomorrow's football matchups?

Me, I don't plan on doing

Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 12/10/2011 - 10:55am.

Me, I don't plan on doing much of anything. Will watch part of the Army-Navy game just because of the tradition.

GO ARMY BEAT

Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 12/10/2011 - 10:53am.

GO ARMY BEAT NAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tarheels play their baby brother UNC-Charlotte, they want to be called just Charlotte, for the NCAA championship in soccer in Hoover Al. I've never really thought of Alabama being a hotbed of soccer. Then again I've never thought of NC being a hotbed of soccer either.

Let's Go! 10 in a row!

Go Navy!!

I'll be splitting firewood until after kickoff.

President Obama is a Muslim (from his own lips), Kenyan (read it from his publicist) a homosexual (read it on a news magazine cover) and a Socialist (I'm alive and can see it for myself)

I assume you have a wood

I assume you have a wood splitter what with all your other gas powered stuff. . Still hard work but it beats the heck out of a wedge and a mallet or an axe. Did plenty of that as a kid.

Army-Navy game

Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 12/10/2011 - 5:25pm.

To me it seemed like the mention of Ronald Regan's name brought a louder ovation than did Bambi and Biteme. The game is being played in honor of Ronaldo Maximus. When the ref mentioned the coin for the toss was a commemorative with President Reagan's head on one side and a presidential seal on the other there was another roar. No roar when Bambi flipped it.

The Navy is wearing a white helmet with an anchor on the side. What happened to the golden ones? The uniforms are not pukey like Oregon or Maryland wears.

I figure if you beat Navy, you have beaten the Navy and the Marine Corps, pronounced corpse. So GO ARMY BEAT NAVY.

Where is Navy's goat and Army's mule? Did they think they might get mistaken for Bambi and Biteme?

SEC dominates one

Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 12/10/2011 - 5:38pm.

SEC dominates one All-American team. RG3 named the best QB. Hope this translates into the Heisman. He is from Copperas Cove, TX. I love the people there. They were very kind to me when I was at Fort Hood. Besides Baylor needs something good to happen. They have lived in the shadow of Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech for way too long.

I can't stand the thoughts of them losing to Scam Newton. Most of the teams they have played figured out his passing. I just hope the Falcons have figured out how to stop his running. Without Scam the Panthers are nothing.

It was looking pretty bleak there at the half.

LOL - And I could kiss Julio Jones for that awesome TD catch that put the game away for the Birds.

Amazing BK,

I was browsing stats earlier and Tebow was 4-16, he finished 21-40. I really thought they were beat today. Wow
