OWS = MLK

So says Vyan at the Daily Kos.

...It is Plain and Simple Fact that not only are the tactics employed by #OWS in directly [sic] alignment with those used by MLK and for that matter Ghandi the entire point of OWS is also directly in line with the point and goals of MLK, and that is not was not just Racial Equality, but in fact Social and Economic Emancipation from the tyranny of the monied and the powerful...

One hell of call

Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 11:15am.

If you haven't heard the call from the neuro surgeon to Mark Levin's Show on Tuesday night and you are over 70 or knocking on the door you need to listen. This is in the rules currently being written for Obamacare. When the rules are completed they will be 100 times worse than the bill.  It is not going to pretty. Sarah Palin was right about the death panels.

On another note Democrats are screaming for Justice Thomas to step down. The law does not say he has to. The law is very clear, Kagan must recuse herself.

A well regulated militia being necessary to a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

I've got a plan for the Death panels.

Submitted by Newsbubba on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 11:25am.

If and when the time comes that I must appeal to a "panel of experts" to decide whether I will get treated for some fatal condition, and they decide that I am too old or worthless to waste the time and money on, I have a plan.

I'm going to appear before them and ask who among them is ready to "go" with me, because if they're planning on sentencing me to death I figure they won't mind accompanying me.

What the hell do you have to lose? They already condemned you to death. May as well make it worth your time, right?

If nothing else, it will reduce the number of bureaucrats willing to serve on these jokes.

Hell, I expect to get turned into the Obama/Incompitano website that is keeping track of seditious, treasonous, and terroristic threats to this country - after all, I AM a white male................AND a conservative.

Some small steps are already being taken.

Submitted by UpNorth on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 12:08pm.

I have a supplemental plan for Medicare.  I received a letter last week that told me that a prescription cough syrup I take when my allergies get the best of me is now considered "high risk".  The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services(CMS) says so.  So, starting January 1, 2012, my plan will no longer, at the direction of CMS, cover this medication.

Except, I can still get the same medication, by paying more for it.  It's not that the medication is "high risk", it's that CMS doesn't want my plan to cover the cost.

Somewhere, a bureaucrat sat down and decided that the poor schmucks out there don't need this medication, but if their doctor insists that they do, they'll have to pay the full shot for it, we'll just forbid their supplemental plans from covering the cost of it.

To re-elect Obama would be like the Titanic backing up and hitting the iceberg again.

So what happens now?

Submitted by jon_torlin on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 12:34pm.

What about people who have diabetes, heart conditions(that take two kinds of meds for cholesterol), asthma(already heard the meds for that are going up or not being made available anymore for some reason), things of that nature?

It's not for me, obviously, I know people with those conditions, friends, relatives, co-workers.  How much more of this stuff that gets uncovered(remember, we had to pass it to find out how this will kill us) before the courts realize it's a bad thing?  (and not counting the parts that access your bank accounts to do quiet "withdrawals" for payments among other things)

With the fate of people's lives literally being left up to b-crats like the death panels, it's just outright outrageous that the SCOTUS isn't looking into this much sooner and I can't help but wonder if even those "good" justices like Scalia and Thomas have the best interests in America at heart after all.

What's next?

My dad had prostate cancer, he was given an experimental(at the time) treatment of radioactive "seeds" which did get covered and he's been in remission for the last 8 years, no sign of it at all, PSA levels perfect, and he's 77 now.  From what I've been hearing and seeing, if he were to pursue this treatment, he would have been flat out denied, and would have been given no choice but to have it removed, or chemotherapy(horrible stuff), radiation that would have affected his whole body, etc and have a severely decreased quality of life.

As we know from the Muslim in Chief(give Grandma a pain pill instead of a pacemaker), Quality of Life doesn't mean a damned thing to him or the democrats that helped push this SoetoroCare in.  It means they have NO value on life, but we already know this since they push for free abortions.  And now, we're seeing the value of life being replaced by the value of treatments(or removal of treatments except for those "very deserving").  This is the Islam way.(or Marxist, either one works)

I can't imagine the pressures the doctors of today must be feeling with all this crap, being told who can live and who can die.

Barry's priorities.

Submitted by Newsbubba on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 1:07pm.

Anyone notice that poor, overworked Barry was out hitting (or trying to hit) the golf ball and "shootin" hoops" with some of the brothers rather than being at the White House to receive the official Christmas Tree?

Wonder if that would be too "Christian" of him? I mean the phrase does have "Christ" in it, and we know how that word spooks him.

I guess it was only right, though, since some of Moochie the Clydesdale's relatives were pulling the delivery wagon. It was a little confusing who was receiving and who was pulling there for a few minutes, since they all have approximately the same beam.

Obama calls himself "Commander and Chief"

Submitted by motherbelt on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 1:50pm.

Obama calls himself "Commander and Chief" of all the armed forces, I guess, including, but not limited to, all the corpsemen.

Start at 2:36.  As Koffler says, if you think you misheard it, check the transcript.  Which, I'm sure, is what was on the teleprompter.

So SICK of him

Submitted by jon_torlin on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 2:48pm.

I'm so damn sick of this manchild and it grows worse on a daily basis, it's getting to the point that I have to avoid the news and given all the crap going on, you really can't because it could be your neck of the woods that the crap going on might happen next.

But with all the gaffes that he's been doing lately, you might as well make a drinking game out of it and see how many SICs you can throw in there.  SIC for those of you in Rio Linda means "Said InCorrectly" and hell, now that I think of it, might as well just put it at the beginning of any transcript "warning, may contain several SICs."

But EVERY damn day, he gets closer and closer to being able to complete his foothold on his dictatorship because that's what we are living in now.

By the way, I had a bit of a cheer this morning, if anyone watched Fox & Friends where they talked about the border fence for Arizona, the state senator they had on there started off by thanking God and Jesus Our Lord and Savior unlike President Zero saying nothing about God in the Thanksgiving Proclamation. (I don't normally watch F&F on Saturday, just happened to see it)  If it had been MSDNC or DNCNN, would he have been cutoff and the interview over before it started?  More than likely.

Droid browser

Submitted by jon_torlin on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 2:39pm.

Try using a different browser, like Opera or Dolphin HD.  There are other browsers that you can use aside from the default browser the Galaxy S uses(didn't know it was Skyrocket, that's a new one on me).  I should mention that I haven't tried either one as I generally post from a desktop as opposed to the smartphone.

Like any browser for smartphones, they have their pros and cons, you just have to figure them out.  I don't have any real preference myself, I just use it for reading the news as opposed to using their own apps that they might offer.

Just a couple of friendly suggestions as I have the Galaxy S myself and plan to get the S2 as soon as contract expires in a couple of months, by then the price should have come down quite a bit.

Can you tell me how to download a different browser for Android?

Easy question, easy answer, lots of info suggested

Submitted by jon_torlin on Sat, 11/26/2011 - 4:43pm.

Hadn't heard about it, but I haven't checked my carrier lately, I usually don't bother checking to see what they have, just that I plan for something I want when I'm due for an upgrade at the end of my contract, in this case, the Galaxy S 2.  I'll have to look into it and see if I want to switch to that Skyrocket one.

As for the different browsers, just go into the Market and put in a search for those two I mentioned before, they are free and are safe to use(I would also recommend putting Lookout on your phone, it's an anti-virus plus it's got a locator in case you lose your phone, look into the info at your own discretion as there's quite a bit).  Opera and Dolphin HD(there's a non-HD version out there) are free to use, and there are some other browsers out there I'm sure, but those are the two I know that are good with Droid systems.  Whether or not it'll be good to use via your pocket rocket(ok, couldn't resist) for doing NB stuff, I have no idea, you have to find out for yourself.

I like Dolphin HD because it has the option of clearing your cache and history automatically when you exit out of it or you can do it manually on exit.  Either one works.

I would also suggest using Advanced Task Killer (at least the one with the blue X, but there are different kinds, I use ATK Froyo because I can manually shutdown some services that I don't want running) because you will have programs running in the background that pop up on their own, annoying as hell, but what can you do?  At least it gives you a little more control over it and you can make it a widget on the desktop to close things automatically at random intervals so as to save your battery when you aren't using it.  Because if you use an app, and you seem like you exited out of there, you will find that it'll still be running in the background.

As for battery, use the BatteryLife v 1.3.3 widget, it's the best one out there, doesn't use up battery in the background like some other battery widgets.  What I do is use the color mode settings and where you have the little batter symbol in the taskbar on the top, at least with this widget you will get a percentage, and you can set the colors to three colors.  I do this for the three colors, red, yellow, and blue like the taskbar symbol, set the yellow for 34% and the rest for 19% which is where they change colors in the symbol.  Very useful, even shows you temperature. (always keep an eye on that, if it gets above 120 degrees Fahrenheit, it could cause your phone to shutdown!  I had that happen once from playing a game for an hour, it was CPU intensive and wore the battery down QUICK.  Don't play games on your phone while it charges, that also increases the temp even more, just leave it alone)

One last thing, when you install apps on there, go into the settings and "manage applications" and for the apps you installed, see if you have an option to "move to SD" which will save you trouble with internal memory on the phone unless you do that already.

Do those things and you'll get a lot of good use out of your Galaxy and your droid system.  Oh yeah, one more last thing, always treat your smart phone as a computer(it IS one after all), meaning it needs to be rebooted every once in a while (I do it at least once a day since I'm using it a lot), it refreshes the memory, works better that way.

-Jon

PS:  Hope this helps anyone else using a droid phone!
