what i thought would happen happened
Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 12:14pm.
When it was announced that Bambi and Thunder Thighs would be at the game between my Heels and Meeechigan State, I knew they would become the show. I quit counting the times they broke away from the action and showed them. What made it so bas was what Thunder Thighs was wearing. (Thanks to Motherbelt for the link) Looks like she had been shopping at Ringling Brothers Clown College. I'll leave that up to Blonde to critic (?) Heels won by the way.
DOOK only beat Belmont by 1. Belmont is known for it's music department not basketball even though they go to he Big Dance about every year. .
On to foosball. (FOOSBALL'S the Devil. If you didn't see The Waterboy you won't know what I am talking about)) DAWGS and Allbern. GO DAWGS if they win they will pretty much assure themselves of trip to the SEC championship if they beat Canetucky next week. . Gators and the Gamechickens GO GATORS they could ruin SC's chance for the SEC title game. . Some talking sport heads say the Gators will win. Lets hope so.
Criminoles and the scUM. Who cares?
My old HS coach died this week. I only had for my freshman year but he had coached at Maiden for 10 years. Found out he too was a traitor. He was living in Columbia, SC. Wonder if he knew the old ball coach?
Noel should be happy. Big game in Palo Alto between the Trees and those gawd uniforms. A Stanford win will keep them in the running for a shot at the national championship.
i am tired of hearing about Penn State. I hope none you bring it up. It is a criminal matter not a sports matter.
Good program this week from ESPN, Roll Tide/War Eagle. The worst part was that dumbasses Charles Barley and Scam Newtown were interviewed. Both of them are arrogant bastards There was a feature with Harvey Updike, the guy who poisoned the trees at Allbern. He calls the Paul Finebaum Show about every day. When he ends the call he always says ROLL DAMN TIDE. The hatred between UNC and DOOK can't hold a candle to those two schools.

Oh, I heard that Corso said "Gators win in the Swamp". D'oh, playing in Columbia today, time for him to hang up his (mascot) heads.

WTF? Sandusky Recruiting Players for Penn State This Year???
Submitted by Dave. on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 5:47pm.
If this story is true, I think the NCAA should immediately step in and shut down Penn State's football program completely, and keep it shut down for at least five years.
Maybe even longer.

Lack of institutional control
Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 7:37pm.
That is what they hit Ohio State with and I bet the same thing will happen to my Heels. I don't think this was an NCAA matter. It is criminal.
I'm sorry, Rick
Submitted by Blonde on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 8:07pm.
I disagree.
The administration (of which two have been charged) knew about this. All of them, I would imagine. It is, absolutely, a criminal matter, but it also falls within the purvue of the NCAA. The "powers that be" not only condoned criminal activity, they covered it up.
I am very sorry for the fans and the unsuspecting players, but Penn State University, its Board of Trustees, and the entire Athletic Department (in the football chain of command and any others who were "in" on the secret)....need to go.

I still can't fathom why McQuery wasn't fired right away also. He was 28, saw a criminal action take place, and should have contacted the police, if not right away then once he realized PSU wasn't going to.
He not only witnessed a criminal act,
Submitted by UpNorth on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 9:21pm.
he had a chance to stop it right there. He could have, and should have, stepped in right there, and knocked Sandusky stupid right there in the locker room. He didn't, he saw, turned around, walked out, and reported it later.
And, yeah, he needs to go, just like the rest of the staff.

Submitted by Tugboat Phil on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 9:51pm.
The way I heard it explained on a radio show was that the DA needed McQ as the eye witness for the case against Sandusky. Part of witness protection is to ensure that they don't lose their job for testifying against their superiors or employer.
Kind of like when they have to immunize or seriously reduce charges against a minor killer to get a major killer. Don't agree with it but that's where we've come to as a country.
J, I agree completely
Submitted by Dave. on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 9:33pm.
Penn State as an institution is corrupt from top to bottom.
Sandusky was allowed to continue his abuse of young boys on the campus for years after he was forced to retire – with the full knowledge of the coaching staff, as well as the board of trustees.
Penn State needs to seriously reorder its priorities, and taking football out of the picture for a while is one sure way that will happen.

Submitted by Radical1979 on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 5:59pm.
I'm going to be paying for this for many years to come once the lawsuits start. Sandusky isn't the only one who should be held criminally liable for this.
And there may be worse yet to come if the rumors are true...
J and Rad, My entire image of Paterno has been shattered
Submitted by Dave. on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 6:28pm.
They knew they had a problem with this monster back in 1995 and should have fired him then.
And I am not buying that Paterno didn't find out about Sandusky until much later.
Paterno was god on that campus, and there is no way he did not know about it. It's not like it was a well kept secret, as Sandusky barely even tried to conceal what he was doing.
I think all of college football knew, because after they forced him out in '99, he didn't land a coaching job anywhere else - and he was only 55 then.
I don't fault Paterno for not going to the police, as he didn't see what happened.
What I do fault him for was allowing that monster to have access to the Penn State facilities for years afterward, which is when many of the assaults allegedly took place.

Is history repeating itself?
Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 8:18pm.
On Nov 11, 2006 we left Pensacola to return home after the birth of our granddaughter. On the way home I picked up the Georgia/Auburn game on the radio about the time we crossed the Alabama/Georgia line. This was the first time in my life I had got to hear Larry Munson call a game for the Dawgs. I can't remember the score but I do remember the Dawgs scoring often. My wife told me to get some music on the radio. i told her I was enjoying the Dawgs beating the crap out of Auburn. Here is 5 years later almost to the day and I am again enjoying the Dawgs beating the crap out of Auburn. Who would have thought that the Dawgs would be in a position to play for the SEC title after losing those first 2 games. I was saying I thought Mark Ritch would look good in Carolina Blue patrolling the sidelines next season. I am pretty sure that is not going to happen. I said a few weeks ago I thought he would have to beat the Yellow Britches to save his job. I don't think that is the case now. Today at least they have looked like the old junkyard dawg defense under Vince Dooley.
Boise State has lost so that
Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 8:25pm.
Boise State has lost so that removes Brando's fly in the ointment. If OSU should lose to OU in the Bedlam Bowl and Oregon, in those gawd awlful uniforms, should beat Stanford tonight then Bama is right back in the national title hunt. OSU sure did look good today though. We know now that Mr. Bozell's freind is T. Boone Pickens so we better not talk too much trash about OSU or we could get banned, HA!!!

NASCAR is really trying to get away from us Rednecks
Submitted by ricklail on Sat, 11/12/2011 - 9:20pm.
Thunder Thighs and Jill Biteme are going to be the grand marshalls for the NASCAR finale at Miami Homestead Speedway. Talk about 2 people out of place. I hope that Blonde will watch at least the start to tell us what old Thunder Thighs is wearing. I have just about broken my addiction to NASCAR. I didn't watch last week except for the final laps and I will not watch tomorrow. And I damn sure ain't going to watch any race where TT says gentlemen start you engines. What is NASCAR thinking? They have just about got what they want driving many us of long time Redneck fans away.

Hey, it's not personal - it's just football.
Well, not usually personal, anyway. :-)
Actually, I'm rather hoping little Dooley can turn them into a competitive team again.
Yeah, KY is having a tough year, and ya gotta give Vandy credit, as they beat the Dawgs early on, too.
I'm just glad to see the Dawgs really improving, as I don't want to see Mark Richt get the axe.
He's done a lot for the school as well as for the state, and it would be a real shame if he got run off.
As for LSU, I was thinking national championship game being played between them and the Tide, but Bama is having fits with MS tonight.
They need to be running up some serious points to get back to #2.
GT is out of the ACC picture. Too bad.

Every week they 'choose' the team they want to win.
This week is no different, Jets and Pats and they talk up the Jets.
Pats are winning.
No fan of the Pats but why the love affair with the 'underdogs'?
