I saw this headline and then came here and saw your comment, figured this fits in. Not nicely, but annoyingly apt.
GOP ready to talk taxes?
On one hand, I fervently hope that nothing happens and there are no tax increases, but hell, I don't trust Boehner and Cantor, especially after Boehner went golfing with DuhOne(traitorous move in my opinion) and then that conversation Boehner had with Rush about it (had a bit of dead air to it with Rush not saying anything, that's when you knew he didn't think it was a good thing) and his actions since then, including giving up on repealing SoetoroCare.
Maybe this country does need a civil war, you got a bunch of anarchists on one side threatening the sanctity of this country who are backed by the bogus potus himself, while on the other side, you have Republicans who in large part were voted in to do their job and are apparently refusing to do so, which will also lead to threatening the sanctity of this country, and you still have the dems, trying like hell in the House, but succeeding in the Senate to run this country into the ground.
And that's not counting the growing Islamic threat to this country. Did I leave anything out?

If I weren't such an optimistic, happy person, I could get downright depressed, but as long as there is Happy Hour in this town, I'm good to go.
The "can we talk" opener reminded me of one of my favorite MCP jokes from a long time ago, and it still seems to fit. The guy is trying to crawl his date's bones, and she looks at him and asks Alan Alders favorite line, "Can't we just talk?" The guy looks at her and says; "Talk. Talk. Talk. Doesn't anybody want to have sex (or something like that) anymore?!?"
I say it's time for conservatives in Congress to just shut up and put the wood to the liberals in BOTH parties. We're going to talk, talk, talk our way into a depression or worse. The anarchists are just circling like a pack of vultures to step in and cause a revolution. The Chinese are laughing their asses off at what a pack or fools we are! All they have to do is just wait it out, and they'll own us without firing a shot. The good news is, they know how to deal with anarchists when they do take over.
The funniest part is Big Sis and Bambi's Homeland Gestapo are more worried about blogs like this that they are the crazy mofo's in the OWC "demonstrations." Those are "their people."

And it looks like they might acquire Europe too............and you're right about the way they treat anarchists and moooooooooooooooooooooslems - so these OWC people are gonna be in for a big surprise when they think that they've finally got what they wanted.
And Big Sis Incompetano DID say that 'we' are more dangerous than terrorists - as long as we're white, right?? So it's no surprise that she's tracking the websites and blogs and that sort of thing.
One good thing...........I've been to China..........they've got beautiful women over there, and they seem to like western men!!!
Of course, I'm sure they'd change their mnds if they met some stinky, dopey, spaced-out, irresponsible, derelict, gimme something type of guys that seem to be a growing part of our population..................the Chinese value work and responsibility, and they also value thrift and financial eptitude (is that a word??).

Well, we were talking about the opposite of being 'disgruntled'...........and wondering if anyone had felt 'gruntled' before.
I didn't surf.........the weather is really crappy here - torrential rain, lightning, thunder, rivers on the verge of closing the road to Hanalei, dirty ocean water, small surf.............so I came home, and didn't have any power either until a few minutes ago. Now I'm trying to 're-calibrate' my TV so that I can have some games on - and UH is playing Utah later on in the afternoon.

I neither mourn nor cheer the passing of Andy Rooney. I only listened to him for brief periods and never thought he was all that wise. I have friends that always tell me that he spoke out against the wrongs done in society and politics.
If he was so brave to speak out, why did he not condemn his own show, which had long since ceased being a true investigative reporter show and more like a dirt digging arm of the DNC? I guess being in power is better than speaking truth to it.

From what I've read about this, he's wrong about his reaction to this whole thing, saying he'll turn his back, he won't stand and etc for National Anthem and etc. He's directing his ire at the wrong people and that should be the bogus potus and his henchmen Janet.(yeah, I said henchMEN) By his reaction, he's turning his back on the American people that are victim to this dictatorship.
I can understand WHY he'd be angry at the results, but again, from what I've ready, he handled the lawsuit case the wrong way or something, and it's not the first time he's got something screwed up.
Ventura, you're rejecting the American people, they aren't the ones who are behind these despots in the WH who are in control of the TSA courtesy of the DHS. You're also rejecting the Constitution which has been pretty much shredded by those same people. Yes, that same thing you swore to protect when you were a Navy SEAL. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you might be able to be part of the solution instead of the problem by virtue of your actions.

He's really not trying to hide that Muslim side of him anymore, especially opposing all things Christian(even if he invoked God as opposed to Allah when talking about the jobs bill*snicker*). Not to mention things that were seen as victories of our historical battles including WW2(after all, he tried to apologize for Hiroshima).
I've been talking to some people at work, including some that voted for this reprobate and even though Texas voted for McCain, they are sorry they cast their ballot for the big-eared wonder. I even asked about the Muslim side of him and a couple of the people I talked to agreed, he's a Muslim more than he's a Christian(in acting) and even his actions show that.
Too bad the spineless Republicans won't take action against this dictator. I've never seen a bigger bunch of wimps....except for the Texas Republicans who didn't try to fight against the TSA in Texas. WIMPS!!!

I knew when I first read that piece that it would light a fire under a few of us here.
Here's a link....my mother still remembers this, she was at the Wright Aeronautical factory...and couldn't believe this was happening as she listened to FDR on the radio (hard to fathom no instantaneous information, isn't it?).

Isn't FDR supposed to be the big Kahuna of the Dim party? Beloved forever? How do the dims reconcile this -- the fact that o'bama is purposely dissing FDR? They have to make a decision, here -- do they abandon FDRs mythical figure to appease their new god, o'bama? Or do they finally come to their senses, and realize that o'bama is trying to fundamentally change America -- and one way of doing this is by erasing history? I'll bet the MSM is looking for ways of minimizing their exposure to this little decision, aren't they?

The differences

There's a difference, FDR, while he did the things he did, was still an American. And that American sided with Winston Churchill, the man whose bust was sent back, who was British. A Brit who was part of the Great Britain Empire that once upon a time considered Kenya(and others) part of its empire, to which Barack Obama Senior was a subject of with much bitterness.
Remember, this bogus potus is all about damaging or severing our alliances with US-Friendly countries. including apologizing to the world for us and trying to bring our level of superiority down as much as possible, including the prayer of FDR not being allowed or whatever.
Anyone who's familiar with WW2 history could take it further about how the Nazis sided with the Islam Jihadists in the Middle East, enemy of my enemy is my friend, etc but that's a looser connection to the big eared wonder.
It all comes to his being a Muslim. That's his first love. That's his life, what he grew up on in Indonesia while surrounded by the Commies like his mother and Ayers and etc. That comes before ANYTHING else even his family. From here on out, his actions that he takes or will take will reflect ties to his Muslim background. After all, he's not even trying to hide it anymore.

Anyone notice something that's been inserted sideways into several of these OWS reports? "They aren't reporting crimes to the police". And just as interesting -- the MSM isn't pursuing this at all. Why? So that everyone can pretend that these are "peaceful people", of course. We all know they aren't. But yet -- the MSM keeps insisting that crime is virtually not present at these staged events.
BTW, these OWS conditions also invalidate a favorite liberal theme -- that if we don't prosecute illegals, then they will report crimes to the police. The OWS experience shows that this linkage doesn't hold water.

As I'm watching, I'm picturing Newt vs Obama in that setting, seeing as Newt has said over and over that he would challenge Obama to a series of those. Obama does NOT want that.
