Joe Klein: 'Olbermann is a Brilliant Writer...I Always Enjoy Watching Him Even When He's Occasionally Wrong'

By Noel Sheppard | January 24, 2011 | 15:55

A  A
Noel Sheppard's picture

Just how far to the left is Time's Joe Klein?

He actually thinks "Keith [Olbermann] is a brilliant writer, and presenter; I always enjoy watching him, even when he's occasionally wrong":

I'm not so sure what this dispute with MSNBC is all about, but I'm sad that Keith won't be around (at least, for a while). If there is a place for the nonsense-spew of Fox News, there has to be a place on my cable dial for Olbermann (who, while occasionally obnoxious, operates from a base of reality--unlike some people we know [see below]). Keith is a brilliant writer, and presenter; I always enjoy watching him, even when he's occasionally wrong. I hope I'll have the opportunity to do so again soon. In the meantime, I hope he'll heed the words of the master and "Go forth, and spread beauty and light."

Go forth and spread beauty and light?

Is that what Klein thinks this conveyor of half-truths and invective has been doing the past eight years?

Keep that in mind the next time you consider taking Klein seriously.

Submitted by jdlybrand on Mon, 01/24/2011 - 4:12pm.

He is an extraordinary liar, on matters large and small, as I've learned from personal experience with the man. That Beck remains on the air and Keith Olbermann--unpleasant and extreme at times, but no fantasist--isn't anymore is a travesty.

Maybe BSNBC could have a show hosted by Keith's diploma. Just show a picture of it on the air with bathtub boy talking unseen, still the same BS but the picture would be better.

Further proof that the view from inside the bubble always distorts your view of the universe outside the bubble.

That they are truly ignorant of the fact they are in the bubble in the first place tells you all you need to know about both Olbermann and Klein.

→ Almost correct

Submitted by Cool Arrow on Mon, 01/24/2011 - 4:29pm.

Keith Olbermann graduated from Cornell College of Agriculture.

Here in Texas, we have subsidiary schools carrying the name of the more prominent parent school.

There is a Texas A&M @ Kingsville and a Texas A&M @ Corpus Christi.  Neither of these is considered as prestigious as Texas A&M @ College Station.

Ann Coulter, who attended the real Cornell, left Keith whimpering after he whipped out his prosthetic Ivy League member status.  It just didn't measure up.

We have the same thing here in NC. You have UNC (Chapel Hil) and all the babies like UNCC-Charlotte, UNCA-Asheville, UNCW-Wilmington, UNCP Pembroke, UNCG-Greensboro.  None have the prestige od the main campus.

You tell 'em Cool Arrow...of course, Texas State University is my favorite because that's where my son graduated.  It's got higher standards and prestige than that 2 bit Cornell Annex that KO went to. Just means KO studied to be a smug farmer...

How 'bout some more Bob Wills-Faded Live would be fine. I ain't from Texas but I love it. As much as I dislike DOOK I'd say it was more pretigious than Cornell Cow College.

Keith already has a job lined up.............

Submitted by Flatliner on Mon, 01/24/2011 - 5:04pm.

Keith will be doing the Weekly Farm Report on PBS.

His fans will be able to continue to enjoy Keith's hard hitting reports on subjects like wheat and soy bean futures, hog bellies and even exotic topics like farm raised talipia.

You can see Keith every Sunday on your local PBS station at 4 A. M.

(If you miss his Sunday morning show, it will be re-broadcast at 3 A.M. Monday.)

Enjoy.

Actually Olbermann is only entertaining because he is wrong

Submitted by c5then on Mon, 01/24/2011 - 6:46pm.

He is the best at manufacturing a false controversy or crisis next to the great Emily Latella of Fort Lee, NJ.. The only thing he lacks is her enlightenment at the end of her rants and the adult acknowledgement of error with her famous "never mind" wrap up.

I didn't think it was possible for me to respect Klein any less. Today I was proven wrong. If Klein is such an Olbermann fan he really should have kept that to himself. That won't look good on his resume, which he may need soon.

No Klein your not smart.  Nothing about you impresses beyond having fooled people into thinking that you're clever.
