Don Imus Show Rips 'Angry,' 'Vile,' 'Psycho,' 'Spittle-spewing' Chris Matthews for Attacking Mark Levin
As NewsBusters previously reported, Chris Matthews on Tuesday blamed conservative talk radio hosts Mark Levin and Michael Savage for supposedly creating the climate of hate that led to Saturday's shootings in Tucson, Arizona.
On Wednesday, FBN's Don Imus and his sidekick Bernard McGuirk responded to the "angry," "vile," "psycho," "spittle-spewing" MSNBCer (video follows with transcript and commentary):
DON IMUS: Time for a "Bernie Briefing' with Bernard McGuirk, sponsored by our friends at P.C. Richard & Son.
Good morning, Bernard.
BERNARD MCGUIRK: Hey, Chief.
Well, psycho Chris Matthews actually mentioned our own Mark Levin and Michael Savage regarding the shooting in Tucson last night, and Mark Levin actually responded quickly. Here it is.
(BEGIN AUDIO CLIP)
MARK LEVIN, RADIO TALK SHOW HOST: Defending ourselves against what, some A-hole on MSLSD with no numbers, no ratings, no audience, no substance, no common sense, making an allegation. We know without question that the murderer in Tucson was mentally ill, a liberal pot head, and all the rest of it. We know this for a fact.
Even if he had a copy of one of my books, and was a listener to this program, what the hell does that have to do with some nut trying to kill a congressman and killing a federal judge, and spraying the whole audience?
(END AUDIO CLIP)
MCGUIRK: There you go, spittle-spewing Chris Matthew versus "The Great One," Mark Levin.
IMUS: Well, we know that both sides are just -- and it's -- but nobody takes Chris Matthews seriously. I mean, I can't imagine they do.
MCGUIRK: No. Well, nobody watches him.
IMUS: That's just not -- there's no relevance. There's no audience, no relevance, and he's a vile human being. And angry. He's angry because he didn't wind up being Tim Russert.
MCGUIRK: Really. He is what he's accusing other people of being.
IMUS: Yes, of course.
MCGUIRK: I mean, Sarah Palin was a target of more vitriol, and it's a wonder she hasn't been harmed at this point.
IMUS: That's an absolute great point.
It is a great point. ABC's Claire Shipman reported Wednesday that death threats against the former Alaska governor have reached unprecedented levels in the past few days.
If God forbid something were to happen to Palin, would all the folks like Matthews spewing vitriol at her 24/7 bear some blame?
As these holier-than-thou so-called journalists continue to ask for a toned down rhetoric in the wake of what they dishonestly claim were killings incited by outspoken conservatives, why is it they feel absolutely no responsibility to govern their own tongues?
Yes, that was a rhetorical question.

Nothing like a good public rank down on Matthews. But they are right. No one can take Matthews serious anymore. The only time that people outside of his sphere are discussing him is when they are making fun of him for whatever silliness he has spewed. The guy is a joke and his misogynistic rants against Sarah Palin and Michele Bachman are over the top to say the least. The guy needs to be medicated.
He can afford meds on 5 mill a year.

So we have this 5 million dollar man reporting on politicians whose base pay is under $200,000, who make laws for people that earn under a $100,000 a year.
Does this make any sense?
Why should anyone reading a teleprompter or just spouting off the top of his head anything that comes to mind, be paid that, for that?
Man, I made a bad career choice....
It's all regurgitated opinions
Submitted by falcon on Thu, 01/13/2011 - 1:01pm.
Everyone - right, left, center - who listens to talk radio or talk TV listens to someone else's regurgitated opinions...and then they use it to formulate their own.
I don't agree with that approach. I believe in getting the facts of an issue or a story, and then making up my own mind and formulating my own opinions.
I don't need anyone, right or left, to suggest to me what I should think or believe. Especially some seven-figure nutcase who desperately wants to be proven right in his belief about those who don't agree with him or this Administration. (And that covers a lot of ground on a lot of networks.)
I don't watch network news ... I don't listen to talk radio ... I search for the stories that affect me, and I include both left- and right-wing sources in order to try and strike a balance. I don't feel that it makes me any less informed; in fact, I think I am able to find more information than I would if I were limited to broadcast news.
And yeah, these guys get paid waaaaay too much to sit there and try and tell me (and others) what to think. Sadly, though, they still have an audience, dwindling though it is ... and that may say more about the state of things in America (and why the left is still listened to at all) than anything else.

And I agree 110%. We need to become "critical thinkers" again. People are so complacent that they can't even judge things for themselves anymore. I see all of these "TV/Radio" personalities as what they really are... ENTERTAINERS and take everything they say with a grain or ten thousand of salt.
AMEN BROTHER... AMEN

Term limits has been my cry for a long time. You worded it exactly right Red, they're professional politicians who're usually trained for their careers by starting out as Professional liars, or Lawyers. Think about it, what exactly is a lawyer's primary job? IMHO, it's taking a set or series of events and finding a way for it to mean something different from what really happened. Our law process is sick and needs a doctor. We must, in the future, start to have a meaningful debate about how the intent of the law is being ignored while the letter of the law is paramount. One of our problems is that fact that our civil laws are being used as nothing more than a slush funds by which politicians become addicted to spending money that's not theirs.
Can I get a a AMEN?

like all his msmbc collegues, matthews makes himself much more important and relevant e.g. joe s. last night post obama speech, matthews was condeming the right and fox news for vicious reporting and then rolled right back to bashing palin as they have done for 2+ years. matthews is a joke who i watch for only comic relief.

Matthews is nothing more than a pathetic little person with highly conflicted sexual problems. He has a very strange hatred and fear of attractive strong women and an almost orgasmic attraction to skinny black presidents.
You will notice Chrissy's hands never leave the underside of his desk whenever he is discussing Obama.

...because, after all, that's what leftists do. Blame it on someone else. They'll call anybody who goes after Palin a "nutcase," "unhinged," a "wacko," but never connect the dots between any attack (which hopefully will never happen) and their hate speech against her.
After all, it's OK for leftists to hate. They're so much more "enlightened" than the rest of us.
If, God forbid, some unhinged kook ever does go after Palin, I hope she breaks out her moose rifle. And uses it. Effectively.

I don't think people make fun of Chris Matthews and the entire MSNBC psychotics enough. I would love to make fun of those lunatics with my friends and family, but I can't find anyone who watches that network or knows who those people are.
I have a friend on the East Coast who watches them, but she's a Teddy Kennedy liberal. I don't know anyone here in San Antonio who know who these idiots are.

Prove anyone anywhere was motivated to violence by Mr. Levin's words.
Or lock that evidence in the safe next to the guys screaming the N word at Congressman Cleaver that a whole bunch of video cameras missed including the 2 Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr was carrying. There is another cool $100,000 right there.
Both offers are still open, locking up that evidence is like money in the bank. Or turn them in now if you live in Illinois because your taxes are going up and that taxman will take a bigger bite of your haul.

I don't have cable so I don't know who this guy, Matthews, is. Is his name Chris, short for Cyristova Mettinczik, former Pravda publiscist from the good ole cold war days in the former Soviet Union? Just wondering, because where did all the lefties go when the USSR collapsed? My theory: They came here and are doing jobs the unemployed won't do. Anyhow, usually when somebody in his position rants like that, it's usually related to a personality disorder; they've forgotten to take their meds again; or take themselves seriously, you know: "A legend in their own Mind. Either that or he hasn't had sex for awhile or forgot what it was... Lenin would be proud.

Why do liberals find it so hard to understand that most people in America don't agree with their opinions, don't think that liberal thought is intelligent, and have no intention of allowing America to be taken down the rabbit hole into "liberal-wonderland". I mean Mathews has been educated enough to understand the concept of disagreement, or at least one would think so. I say this, if the suits at M.S.L.S.D. want to waste shareholder's money airing shows that are dead last in the ratings, then, let them. Sooner or later, anyone who invests in the networks are going to demand that the stations hire people that people want to see and listen to.
