Rachel Maddow's Claim MSNBC Isn't A Political Operation Exposed As Nonsense
Rachel Maddow's claim that MSNBC is "not a political operation" was thoroughly debunked Sunday by the conservative website Johnny Dollar's Place.
As NewsBusters previously reported, Maddow on Friday defended Keith Olbermann's suspension for violating NBC's campaign finance rules by attacking Fox News hosts for raising money for Republicans. In the segment, she argued that aside from the "Countdown" host's indiscretion, MSNBCers don't engage in such activity.
As the following video marvelously demonstrates, Democrat candidates in recent months went on MSNBC programs such as "Hardball," "The Ed Show," "Countdown," and "The Rachel Maddow Show" to raise money for themselves (video follows with commentary):
For the record, here's what Maddow said Friday:
Hosts on FOX raise money on the air for Republican candidates. They endorse them explicitly. They use their FOX News profile to headline fundraisers. Heck, there are multiple people being paid by FOX News now to essentially run for office as Republican candidates. If you count not just their hosts but their contributors, you are looking at a significant portion of the whole lineup of Republican presidential contenders for 2012. They can do that because there`s no rule against that at FOX. They run as a political operation. We`re not.
Yes, Keith is a liberal, and so am I. And there are other people on this network whose political views are shared openly with you, our beloved viewers, but we are not a political operation. Fox is. We are a news operation, and the rules around here are a part of how you know that.
You were saying, Rach?
Readers are encouraged to review Johnny Dollar's entire piece on this issue for more details concerning MSNBC's advocacy for Democrat candidates.

Why can't they just admit it?

I don't have a problem with MSNBC's commentators having liberal views and advocating for the left. I don't even care that their anchors and correspondants have liberal views. I just want them to be upfront about it, instead of trying to pass it off as objective journalism. Seriously, MSNBC is everything they constantly accuse Fox News of being.
Progressives seem to be completely averse to facts and logic. Apparently, reality has a conservative bias.

Certainly agree wtih you in general, however; MSNBC is not only much more than everything that they accuse Fox News of - Fox News is not guilty of most of the bs that MSNBC accuses Fox of being or doing. My larger problem with MSNBC remains that so much of what they do, is simply pure hate mongering and smear. That combined with the fact that they live in a completely out of context, severely edited or corrupted excerpt video clip or quote world, truely makes them the "Worst cable TV channel in the World."

They can't admit it because . . . .

They need to keep pulling the wool over their viewers eyes.
MSNBC liars, counting on others not paying attention

MSNBC is a liberal hack organization and counts on their viewers utter distaste for Fox News.
Most of the lefties I either work with or serve (College Students) would rather die than watch Fox News. So, theoretically these people can say whatever they want and they will be believed because the left always starts off with the premise that the right is corrupt, vile and no good.
That's why people laugh at them.

They actually have the nerve to deny that they are a tool of the DNC and coordinate their programs with the White House.

Remember how it was so

Remember how it was so supposed to be a huge outrage that FOX had Saudi contributors and yet most of FOX's staff openly opposed the Ground Zero Mosque? I'm still waiting for Madcow to explain how that was a conflict of interest. I'll give you a hint, Rach, if you receive money from certain people and blindly support those people's views. That, my dear, is a conflict of interest, not when you are permitted opposing viewpoints, for that, my dear, is called freedom. Look it up.
who does this spim minster thinks she is kidding

Does anyone remember Mika who admitted that she gets Democrat talking points while she is on air at Morning joes.
I know that the left will tell any lie, spin any story and those on the left refuse to even listen to anything that does not form around there bias.
I remember a very smart man once said, "it is not that they are stupid, it is just that they know so much that is wrong."

Noel, you shouldn't lable Johnny Dollar as a conservative; a more correct term (to follow the MSM fashion) would be non-partisan media critic.

PMSNBC has a political agenda and most Americans with walking around sense know that. What is blatantly obvious is the mass historical denial. But I have to wonder is it denial or is it an orchestrated conspiracy to lie and deceive those who actually watch this "C" Class operation. To what end. I think maybe it is actually a source of "RED MEAT" for the fringe left as to allow them to get their injection of progressive rhetoric so not to lose their allegiance if they wake up or stray and observe a real news organization like Fox News~!!!
