Greg Gutfeld Rips Maureen Dowd's 'GOP Mean Girls' Column
Greg Gutfeld on Saturday marvelously ripped Maureen Dowd's "GOP Mean Girls" column published by the New York Times last Sunday.
Appearing on "Fox News Watch," Gutfeld ridiculed the hypocrisy of lamenting the "evils of smearing women right before smearing women" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
JON SCOTT, HOST: A clip from the movie “Mean Girls,” and the inspiration for New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd when she took on some of the GOP’s female candidates. Her column got the interest and ire of “Red Eye’s” Greg Gutfeld.
GREG GUTFELD: So according to Maureen Dowd we're seeing a rising tide of vicious bullying this political year, the kind you see in high school when teenage tormentors would spread rumors that you were pregnant. For Dowd, she blames these new Republican mean girls, angry and aggressive women who are angry and aggressive.
Anyway, to the irony, here Mo laments the evils of smearing women right before smearing women. Funny, somehow she’s turning into that insecure head cheerleader, the one who always supports the boorish jock. Think of the National Organization for Women during the Clinton years, or any women who supported Teddy K.
But Dowd’s real blind spot: she writes this column only a week after Meg Whitman was called a whore, and after the California NOW chief said that word was an apt description. But none of that made her column. Odd. So how is calling a lady the "w" word not seen as mean, but Sharron Angle asking Harry Reid to man up is? I’d ask her explanation, but that might be too mean.
It’s also just too funny seeing Dowd go after Angle for being aggressive in a debate. It's what you do in a debate, Sis. But maybe Mo thinks Reid can't defend himself, or worse that a debate is just no place for girls.

Well, since the show is called NewsWatch, and SpinsterMo writes for the New York Times newspaper, I would think it's fair game. If, however, Fox were in the business of reporting all that is asinine, then one third of their screen would be streaming live MSNBC.

Dowd is entitled to her opinion. Gutfeld merely exposes the dupliciousness of elite snobs like Dowd and NOW who proclaim their support for the independence and success of women while they consistently attack successful conservative women.
I'd love to see Gutfeld on a pundit show opposite the droll Dowd. He'd torpedo her hypocrisy in a matter of minutes.

Gutfeld has his own show called "Red Eye" at 3 AM on Fox, in which he does commentary on everyone and everything. Kind of like Bill Maher; only Gutfeld is actually funny. He doesn't do hate disguised as humor.
Mandrake is apparently upset because this "opinion" was expressed, not on his own show, but in a segment on "Fox News Watch" where he has been hired to do....wait for it....commentary!

Maher's show is snooty elitist anger, whereas Gutfeld's show is funny while remaining poignant. The guests on Red Eye all look like they are having fun.

Greg Gutfeld does a well organized gonzo show, with nutty (even demented, and I mean that in a good way) takes on events - current and from the beginning of time, if he feels the need to use references like that to titillate the issues. He and his cohorts on the show, Bill Schulz and Andy Levy, are always original and genuinely funny, with Mad Hatter ad libs flying all show long.
But watch out for Greg's serious side: He's wickedly accurate with his analysis of the news and/or news makers, drawing the quickest, sharpest blade since Dennis Miller (who, by the way, has become good friends with Greg Gutfeld - they're a lot a like, in my book.) His editorials belong in the top news publications out there.
Greg Gutfeld is smarter and funnier than Bill Maher ever dreamed of being, and does his own material, unlike Jon Stewart. He blows both of them out of the water, to coin a phrase (not really coining a phrase, I'm a hack) and would be a superstar if he were on the left.
By the way, I'm a huge fan, if you couldn't tell.

Do any of you watch Greg Gutfeld's show, Red Eye? It's on at 0300 EST and mainly reports on the assinine. It's the only show that can discuss the Iranian nuclear threat and segue right into tranny hookers. That's the main reason it's on at 0300.
Red Eye is what The Daily Show would be if Stewart and his writers had any balls. And if you disagree with me, then you, Sir, are worse than Hitler. (still my favorite ending)

I used to be a huge Red Eye fan over here in the UK. But Fox pulled it from its international feed over a year ago now.
Fox runs its US feed internationally, except for Red Eye.
Fox gave some pathetic excuse but we all know that they bowed to pressure from certain countries which didn't appreciate Red Eye's scatological humor.
And so countries that do like England, Australia, etc, have to suffer because of censorship elsewhere.
