The Egg Bowl is usually
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 12:11 ET by general companyThe Egg Bowl is usually pretty entertaining, Okies and the South Carolina, and Georgia rivalries should be good this year. Plus we can all guess to see how LSU can screw up another game.
Thought Auburn was going to do it yesterday, doubt Fla St has much of a chance. Wonder if UCLA can beat USC again? ND has fallen of the tracks,, who should we get for the new coach, I mean other then Urban, How about Peterson from Boise, Those guys a some fun to watch.

Not this Egg Bowl GC.
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 12:32 ET by Mr. MikeNot this Egg Bowl GC. Mullen doesn't have the horses yet for the Bulldogs. Sly Croom was a worse recruiter than coach (yep, that bad!). Nutt has really turned Ole Miss around and has them going in the right direction. Dan Mullen needs two good recruiting classes to become competitive in the SEC again.
The LSU/Arkansas game will be very interesting. If LSU loses again to Arkansas then Miles is probably out of a job!
You may be right Mike
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 16:05 ET by general companyThe way St in running over them? I think Ol Miss has a bit of an LSU hangover?

I think Ga. Tech will beat Georgia tonight
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 12:42 ET by R D HelmTech is a better team, even with a struggling D.
Georgia basically sucks offensively, particularly at the QB position.

Congrats to Bama for winning the 2009 Iron Bowl
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 13:08 ET by R D HelmAnd I have to give special mention to Texas A&M for at least getting my hopes up a little on Thursday. Losing to the #3 team by ten points isn't too shabby.
My picks today are the Heels, the Rebs, LSU, Kentucky, GT, and Florida.
And it wouldn't hurt my feelings if SC beats Clem's son, either.
-Dave
Our elected representatives have failed us.
Anyone watching Game Day?
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 13:12 ET by BlondeThat piece they did on Superman had me bleary eyed. I am sure going to miss Tim Tebow and the rest of the seniors. Winningest class of seniors in SEC history.
Well, today is Blooby's Swan Song. I can't bring myself to hate the old guy, I feel sorry for him, but as the old Gator chant goes, it's great to hate Florida State! Nolies are going to suffer again today. Desmond the Idiot saying FSU scores 30 today is a pipe dream....they've only scored 27 in the last 3 years. Gators in a Blowout!
For Dave....is UGA VIII going to make an appearance today? I hope so....and the REAL deal, not some liberal wet dream. Speaking of dreams....sorry Dawgs....but Tech wins today.
Rick's team is once again ranked.....so I hope they have good day.
LSU better win or Miles is toast. Arkansas has a shot, but Death Valley at night? Hawgs aren't Gators.
Bama almost got Burned last night....it was a great game, and I liked it for what I saw Bama bring to the field. They are big brutes, but they are SLOW, particularly on the edges. I hope Steve Addazio took a good look at their D-line. I better not see that idiot dive play up the middle against Bammer. Ingraham injury? I didn't understand why they sat their Heisman contender for most of the game.
Okay, even the Homer Lee Corso had to go for the Gators, Herbstreit said "gets ugly early".....so I am off to watch the Old Ball Coach try to beat Clem's Son. Steve is still near and dear to my heart, so rooting for the chickens today.
GO GATORS!!!!!!!
I hope he fails, too.
J, the Bulldog Nation will never stand for a robotic Uga
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 13:28 ET by R D HelmAfter all, Athens ain't Berkeley, and UGA is NOT UC Berzerkely.
As such, I don't think it would be a good idea for PETA members to show up in Athens and start protesting for one, either, as things is jess liable to get a tad ugly.

D....I saw that on the Gator Boards originally
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 13:53 ET by BlondeThe Gator Nation sends its condolences re: UGA, truly. One of the members there has a white bulldog named Jack, she has it dressed in a Gator T (maybe you've seen him at the Cocktail party?) as her avatar. There was even a thread that hinted that Ga. had a stealth call in to Jack to interview for the mascot position.
I did read somewhere that ya'll should have a replacement by today's game, a puppy, IIRC. Hope so.

My Blonde joke for today.
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 14:53 ET by ricklailThe Alabama preacher said to his congregation, ‘Someone in this congregation has spread a rumour that I belong to the Ku Klux Klan. This is a horrible lie and one which a Christian community cannot tolerate.
I am embarrassed and do not intend to accept this.
Now, I want the party who did this to stand and ask forgiveness from God and this Christian Family.’
No one moved.
The preacher continued, ‘Do you have the nerve to face me and admit this is a falsehood? Remember, you will be forgiven and in your heart you will feel glory. Now stand and confess your transgression.’
Again all was quiet.
Then slowly, a drop-dead gorgeous blonde with a body that would stop traffic arose from the third pew. Her head was bowed and her voice quivered as she spoke,
‘Reverend, there has been a terrible misunderstanding. I never said you were a member of the Ku Klux Klan. I simply told a couple of my friends that you were a wizard under the sheets.’
The preacher fell to his knees, his wife fainted, and the Congregation roared!

I am a little late
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 14:46 ET by ricklailI am a little late getting to the table today. I got up and fixed breakfast for the family and then made a trip to WalMart.
This is my favorite week of college football. What great rivalries. I guess the biggest on the board is Fl-FSU. Not only about the game but about the seniors that have brought so much excitement to the Swamp. Oh and this kid named Tim Tebow, a name that will live in college football legend long after we are all gone. It could be the last game for the Old Geezer. A lot of story lines in this game. I saw on Game Day a lot of fans holding up “T”s. Some idiot was holding up a pumpkin vomit “T”. Now that is Jimmy Carter stupid.
Clem's son -South Carolina-Who cares? Sure no love lost on these teams from this Tar Heel.
Jawja-Jawja Tech. I want Tech to keep winning because it makes the ACC look good.
If Bama plays against the Gators like they played against the Tigers it will be the Sugar Bowl for sure.
If ECU beat S. Miss today they will play the C-USA conference championship in Greenville next Saturday. Good gosh, I'll have to listen to it all week.
I felt sorry for Pitt last night. One of those heartbreaking losses. They can still win the Big East and go to a BCS Bowl if they can beat Cincy.
If the Longhorns don’t learn to play defense they will be toast against either the Tide or Gators. I mean to let A&M score 39 is ridiculous. Right now Nebraska is playing about as good as any team in the Big 12. Could it be an upset?
Let’s play a game. What coaches will be cleaning out their offices come Monday or by the end of next week? My choices are Charlie Weis, Dan Hawkins of Colorado, Al Grobe of VA, and the Old Geezer. They may let the Old Geezer coach in the bowl game that they don’t deserve. No 6-6 teams deserve to go to a bowl game. Sorry Jawja but that is the way I feel.

Nebraska is not going to
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 15:19 ET by ConservativeRexNebraska is not going to get close to the Horns. Period.
Not sure if anyone other then Texans grasp the significance of a UT-TAM game. That's why so much emphasis is put on this game in state, they are trying to recruit the same high schools. This is the state with THE best High School football programs in the country. That's why nearly every D-1 school recruits here for every position. UT gets better then 90% of their talent in-state, so does A&M, Tech, Baylor, Houston, TCU, OU,& OKS. If I'm not mistaken, there are quite a few SEC schools with starting QB's from Texas this year and the last couple of years. And still we field our teams with nearly all in-state talent.
It was a good game for sure. A&M was not going to roll over, they never do. They are a worthy opponent no matter the records, in this game. Whether in DKR Memorial or Kyle Field. That said, as much as I hate to admit it, watch A&M in the next couple of years, it looks like they are heading back to the Slocum years again.
No matter who plays UT, bring your A game.

Sat, 11/28/2009 - 19:43 ET by RESTLESS 1But, neither Fla, or Ala can keep up with Texas. The defense will have at least three playing on Sunday next year. They are a young defense, who learned a lot last year. Speed and size everwhere.
As Keith Jackson once said, "My big, fast guys will beat your small, fast guys every time". That's the case here, against either.
That said, I hope it's Fla. Tebow vs. McCoy would be one for the ages.
(BTW, Florida can put kids on college programs all they want, Texas puts them in the pros.)

That was your wake up call, UT
Sat, 11/28/2009 - 21:40 ET by UnsaneApologies to all my fellow Texans, but I will call it as I see it. Yes, A&M was going to come out strong against the Horns. They had to. That is THE rivalry in the state. But their defense looked horrible.
UT CAN beat FL. But WILL they? Right now I have serious doubts. I am not liking the Texas D after watching that game. Colt McCoy and the O beat the Aggies, not the Longhorns. They cannot do this against the Gators.

Luckily we have a body of work over 12 games that says otherwise.
But, let's take care of Nebraska. They will be ready, and looking to establish themselves with a win in Dallas.

Then, they come out and call four pass plays in a row, and all were incomplete passes, even the one on 4th and 10, which was caught on the right side of the first-down marker, but then dropped, and they lose the game.

Sun, 11/29/2009 - 09:25 ET by BlondeOn the Nike Pro Combat unis?
Personally, I thought they were lamer than Georgia's Grambling look. Someone on the Gator boards called the pants "the a$$less chaps look"....I knew they were bugging me to death, and when I read that, I realized why. The helmets looked like something out of a bad sci-fi movie. The only cool thing about the whole uni was the palms of the gloves, which of course, no one could see.
I'll be happy to go back to our standard orange & blue....the only unusual uniform I care to see is the retro one worn for the 100th anniversary of the SEC.
I believe LSU wore the Nike unis too....and was just wondering what any other fans thought about theirs/ours?

From what I read, gc
Sun, 11/29/2009 - 11:25 ET by Blonde...and this was on the Gator boards, was that Nike sent representatives to each university to get a "feel" for the program. (Hence the slogans, I think). Then they presented a couple of options. At UF, Urban Meyer and Jeremy Foley (our AD) made the decision on which one.
I thought LSU's gold looked awful...it was yellow. And the UF blue wasn't the right color either. I should call my BIL to see what he thought of Mizzou's unis.
