November 18, 2007 - 11:28 ET by JerryWouldn't it be ironic, if on the same year that a team (New England), finally matched the Dolphin's perfect season, the Dophins went winless?
Forgive me if this has already been discussed, as my busy schedule does not allow me to keep up with all the threads.
When asked if he went to war with Iraq to derail the impeachment vote: “I don’t think any serious person would believe that any President would do such a thing." - President Clinton (Dec 1998).
Would be even more ironic
November 18, 2007 - 12:16 ET by general companyWould be even more ironic if the Dophins only win was against the Pat's. Do they play?

Twice a Season
November 18, 2007 - 14:03 ET by Del DolemonteMiami and NE are in the same division so play two games a year. The Pats romped 49-28 in Miami last month, and the rematch in New England is a 1 PM game Sunday December 23.
Dolphins
November 18, 2007 - 14:08 ET by BlondeOh, they're going to have a perfect season. No doubt about it.
And ya'll wonder why I've been calling them the Olphins all season? Because they are particularly Olphul.

Damn Field Goals
November 18, 2007 - 11:02 ET by ricklailDamn those field goals. My Heels lost to GA Tech yesterday on a last seconds field goal. That is the third time they have lost that way this season. It was a damned field goal that may have saved Phat Phil his job at Tenn. Tenn scored one with 2:45 left in the game. Vandy failed on one with seconds left. New rule next year. No field goals in the 4th quarter. I know how Bobby Bowden felt over all those damn field goals from Florida and Miami.
Every time I go into a new town I judge the mood of the area by the letters to the editor of the local paper or local talk radio. If the calls coming into Tim Montemeyer’s show on SNR from the Clem’s son fans is any indication Tommy Bowden is toast no matter whether he beats SC or not. That loss to BC was more than they could handle. I am glad to see it. As far as I am concerned it is a shame that there must be a winner between Clem’s son and that other team in SC, and I don’t mean Furman. I wished Clem’s son had that damn rock shoved up the Tiger’s you know what.
Hats off to BC for winning the Coastal division of the ACC. They will play the winner of the VA-VA Tech game.
I am no big fan of the Big Ten but why do they keep saying that it is going to be LSU and either Mizzu or West “By God” Virginia in the BCS championship. Ohio State only has one loss too. They should have just as good a chance at it as any of the others.
Don’t look now but Wake is going bowling again. There was time that Wake and Virginia were practice games for the rest of the ACC. Now I it is my Heels and DOOK. It has been 5 years since the Heels won a game outside the state of NC.
Please pray this week for Kentucky to beat the Vols. I can’t stand the idea of Phat Phil going to the SEC championship game. They are just lucky enough to beat LSU.
Oh yeah if Tommy Bowden is going to the unemployment line Bobby needs to join him so he’ll have company. This pains me to say but GO GATORS.
The college b-ball season has already started out like the college football season, ranked teams falling to unranked teams.

The MO v. KA game will be the one to watch, no doubt it will be picked up nationally. These teams are fairly evenly matched on both sides, should be a great game.

November 18, 2007 - 14:49 ET by general companyI thought the Big12 had the inside track to the NC game, but it looks like OU's loss will doom that idea. Unless KU or Mizzu can win out, but I doubt the winner of next weeks game will win the Big 12 championship game.

BCS
November 18, 2007 - 17:09 ET by scamoramaI think yesterday's results will make a real dog's breakfast of the BCS with regard to strength -of-schedule and common opponents.
Consider:
The OryGone loss hurts ASU (and to small degree, Ohio State)
Oklahoma's loss hurts Kansas and Missouri.
Washington's win helps Ohio State.
I won't be surprised if Oh-How-I-Hate-Ohio State moves to #3 in the BCS. I won't like to see it, but I won't be surprised.

Strength of Schedule/Common Opponents
November 18, 2007 - 21:00 ET by scamoramaI should have qualified that with "if Kansas or Missouri beat Oklahoma in the conference title game".
(Missouri's win over Texas Tech might be worth more now.)
As it is, though, the Big-12 might find itself shut out of the BCS title game, unless Kansas runs the table.
If Mizzu win's out I

Kansas, yes...
November 18, 2007 - 22:48 ET by scamorama...Missouri, I doubt it.
If Missouri wins out, they'll have a win over Kansas (that will mean something) and a win over (probably) Oklahoma (that won't mean as much anymore).
It's possible that the "Wrong OSU" will get the title shot if Kansas falls.
Get rid of the BCS!
i still think Mizzou

November 18, 2007 - 23:17 ET by scamoramaYeah, that would be fun to see, wouldn't it?
The only thing that really hurts Missouri is that 1 loss -- to Oklahoma. Tech didn't do your guys any favor.
LSU still has to get past Arkansas and (probably) Georgia. Anything's possible (even OSU - Missouri in the big game).

November 18, 2007 - 12:33 ET by JDWFollow the news media and realize the difference. They have admitted the Clintons are not to be trusted yet at the same time sell the idea that it does not matter.
Spitzer grabbed his ankles at a very timely point last Wednesday and Blitzer came through with love and kisses from the Clintons following the debate on Thursday. Coincidence?
Mrs Clinton is firewalled during the debate yet on the stage of real life she is once again forced to send the puppets out to do the 'mumbo don't know'.
She has the brain of a peanut with one focus in mind, destroy competition with personal ammunition.

9/11 Truther-like
November 18, 2007 - 11:29 ET by Jerry9/11 Truther-like Conspiracy Alert..
What if Guiliani was part of the Clinton political machine, either willingly or by coersion (blackmail)? What if he entered the NY senate race as part of a plan to pull out late, thereby ensuring a Clinton win? What if his role is to win the Republican nomination and then become "un-electable", thereby guaranteeing Hilary's election? What if fire DID melt steel. 8-)

When will news agencies
November 18, 2007 - 11:42 ET by GregEWhen will news agencies return to the days of objective news? And if never, what will become of America because of it? We're beginning to really see how liberal media bias can sway a voter, and the voter is what moves America in the direction it goes. Talk to anyone who only hears a little news here and there but is otherwise not really interested. They get their news from only the major outlets, and little else. Listen to what they say about certain major topics of the day. It's astounding how they simply repeat the main news points verbatim, and ultimately vote with those same thoughts in mind.
The biggest power in America isn't the politicians, it's the media who control what the voter sees and hears, and in turn the voter determines the fate of the politician, based on what the media has indoctrinated into the voter. This is extremely dangerous to our country.
We here see it, know it's happening, and talk about it, but do we really step back and understand the true danger that it is and that it really can become to our nation and way of life?

Maureen Dowd proved here am I right
November 18, 2007 - 12:42 ET by Lame CherryMaureen Dowd today proved God was correct in the inspiration He provided which I posted here yesterday about why the Kos and the Dowd crowd hates Hillary.
In synopsis, the Kos kids hate Hillary as she is the mummy who abandoned them and took daddy Bill from them.
Dowd hates Hillary, because Hillary is the bitch wife who would not let her adulterous hubby cuddle in wedded bliss with Mistress Maureen. All of these successful liberal have this "used by a married guy story" and then dumped. The women though instead of blaming themselves or their mistake in trusting a horndog Bill Clinton.....blame the "wife" for denying them the fruits of fame, fortune and the wife's womb........as they will not have kids, but gladly will be step mummy pretending they are fertile too.
Thank you Maureen........and agtG!

Ding Harry Annoints Himself King. (Duct Tape Alert!!)
November 18, 2007 - 13:50 ET by motherbeltRoll Call had an article on Friday about Dingy Harry. The Majority Leader has decided that the Senate will stay in session over Thanksgiving because he is afraid that President Bush might try to sneak in "recess appointments."
The whole thing is one massive dose of hubris from Dingy Harry ("This war is lost") Reid.
Here's a sample (emphasis added throughout):
“While an election year looms, significant progress can still be
made on nominations,” Reid said. “I am committed to making that
progress if the President will meet me halfway.
“But that progress can’t be made if the President seeks
controversial recess appointments and fails to make Democratic
appointments to important commissions.”
The arrogance of this man is absolutely jaw-dropping.
Read the whole thing, and if you can come away without your head exploding, you're a better person than I am.

November 18, 2007 - 14:04 ET by BlondeHere's another interesting take on cowardly Harry's latest defeatist idea, written by Deebow, my new favorite over at Blackfive.
These idiot defeatocrats want the military to function by accounting sleights of hand? For repairs to go unmade, DoD civilians & contractors to be laid off....thank you ever so much you morons.
This is absolutely inexcusable in a time of war.

I hate to say this but
November 18, 2007 - 14:25 ET by ricklailI hate to say this but maybe they should lay off some of these civilians. Here's why. I know a lot of folks that work at Cherry Point at the Naval Aviation Depot. Most of them vote for libs like Reed both state and national. I hear them brag about it. Then they may just may see who really cared about them. Cherry Point is one of the main locations on the east coast for the repair of helicopters and planes used by the Marines and Navy. Any layoffs wouldn't last but a couple days because then the workers would start raising hell.
I hate to cripple our military but somehow the American people have got to get the message on how the dumbass liberals want to run the war. There have got to be some drastic measures took to stop Reed and his ilk.

November 18, 2007 - 14:29 ET by BlondeIt's ludicrous to expect the Defense Department to gut itself on support operations to maintain COMBAT operations simply because the defeatists in the Congress are too intellectually lazy and too politically cowardly to do the right thing (defund the war). Spineless turds.
If that's what they want to do, stop the war, that is the way to do it. Not cause irreparable harm to the military and its support functions.
I cannot even believe the democrats are doing this AGAIN. They screwed up the military in the 90's...George Bush had to go to war with the military we had then.
Deja vu all over again.
It's insane.

November 18, 2007 - 15:24 ET by motherbeltThey're not morons, they're people that don't care how much damage is done as long as they get their way.
This jumped out at me....
In the meantime, Democrats say, the Pentagon can eat into its $471 billion annual budget without being forced to take drastic steps.
"The days of a free lunch are over," said Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
Can you imagine the Democrats and Chuckie Schumer saying that about the Department of Education? Or HHS?
Yeah, what does he care if the troops don't get paid? Earlier today I commented in Warner's posting about the LAT worrying about the effect of the falling dollar on Europeans!
I mentioned that my Army son in Germany and all the other soldiers and their families in Europe are being pummelled by the exchange rate (My son just spend $2500 to buy enough Euro to pay his rent; almost double what it was previously). But the LA Times doesn't care about them. Apparently neither do the Democrats.
That sound you hear is me ripping more duct tape off the roll.......
Not all New England teams doing great.
November 18, 2007 - 14:34 ET by Lord ElicaniI may be the only person here who cares, but I just finished watching my adopted hometown team, the Dynamo, repeat as MLS champions. How about the 0-4 finals record of the Revolution over the last six years?
I'm savoring the look from the last cornor kick that the Dynamo somehow blocked...probably the only time this year you'll see a "Holy shit, we're cursed" look on the face of Robert Kraft.
