Congressman: ‘Tea Partiers’ Have 'A Plan to Dismantle the American Government’
Congressman Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) has claimed that "Tea Partiers" have enacted a "plan to dismantle the American government" and in the process, the country has lost its "moral compass."
"These ‘Tea Partiers,’ as willing conspirators with their so-called leadership have enacted on a plan to dismantle the American government and in the process, we have lost our moral compass," said Johnson when speaking with the Congressional Out of Poverty Caucus last week.
"We’re talking about the debt ceiling now instead of jobs and what’s happening to the shifting income from poor and middle class people to the extreme upper class. We’re not talking about jobs. We’re talking about a debt ceiling and what these Republican tea partiers are doing is digging a hole down in the basement so deep that there certainly is no semblance of a safety net down there."
The White House and congressional leaders have reached a deal to increase the nation’s debt limit by $2.4 trillion but Tea Party-backed Republicans in the House have expressed opposition to the plan.

"plan to dismantle the American government"

Right on, bubba. We ARE going to dismantle this mess of a government that liberals have been creating for the last half century with very little break.
I cannot believe that these jackasses are complaining about what the Tea Party is trying to do after they had the Congress locked up for the last four years, and added the White House for the last two of those years and STILL couldn't do squat, but run up more debt, kill more jobs, and generally screw over the whole idea of a (gasp) budget.
Yeah, with any luck we WILL dismantle your sorry asses.
Republican and the Democrat Liberals created the "mess

of a government."
Liberal Democrat FDR gave us a huge dosage of "government mess" with his "New Deal." Truman came along with a regurgitated version. He called his deal a "Fair Deal" of government growth.
Relief came in the 50's when Eisenhower's administration did away with much of FDR's New Deal? Sorry he expanded FDR's socialist agenda. Ike put the feds into the local schools; got the states hooked on the feds for their highway funds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal-Aid_Highway_Act_of_1956
Ike's Federal Highways act was the largest expansion of "public works" projects since FDR's Works Projects. The Highway passed some speculate because it had "defense" in the bill's title.
Wefare Ike
Eisenhower signed the bill to create the Health Education and Welfare department. The Liberals took out Welfare from its title and gave HHS more money and more welfare agents to bring toxicity to the economy.
Environmental Dick
Nixon used his executive pen to create the EPA. If this man behind the conservative mask is "liberal" as FDR then I agree.
Dubya's Trillions of red ink
Bush signed into law the bill creating the Department of Homeland Security. DHS has a nasty habit of labeling Tea Party supporters, 2nd amendment advocates, rigtht to lifers, etc. as "terrorists. That department is a total mess in anyone's score card.
Bush's NCLB is another huge "government mess."
Yes I suppose "liberals" create messes. We just need to put the "Liberal" label on those who create these messes even when they label themselves "conservative."
To a stoopid, freedom-hating low-life commie like Hank Johnson..

...government is the end-it, be-all of his entire world.
Never mind that it is that same government that is currently destroying our America.
I don't really have a problem with the concept of a 'safety net,' but when maintaining same becomes all-consuming, has quite literally taken over a nation, and is about to send it down the toilet, it's time to make some major adjustments.
And one of those adjustments would be running this border-line illiterate parasite-enabler off at the point of a pitchfork, but that won't happen.
You see, this idiot replaced Cynthia McKinney, so that should tell you something about his constituents.

Actually, Democrats are shifting income from the middle class, the wealthy, and small business owners to the minority of Americans who refuse to work and to government employees.

Hank,
You don't deserve the respect of your title. America isn't about a safety net. America is the chance for everyone to fly on the trapeze.

What are they putting in the water in that district? Hallucinogens?
They don't have to...

That district is gerrymandered like you wouldn't believe, slithering around and devouring every majority black neighborhood it comes across. Kinda like Cynthia, now that I think about it. Believe me, I know, I LIVE in the damned thing and had to sit through years of Cynthia winning election after election despite the fact that she's obviously a few fries short of a Happy Meal and despite the numerous superior candidates who ran against her. Frankly, California's welcome to her. Now if only we could find a way to get old Hank out of our hair, too. Any suggestions?
Yep.

The TEA Partiers are going to ship all the useless government bureaucrats to the Island of Guam. Once there, the T Partiers will make all the bureaucrats stand on one side of the island, making it tip over and sink thus causing all the worthless bureaucrats to drown.
How can any thinking people elect fools like this man to high office?
You just hit upon the issue...

"...thinking people."It's obvious the folks who elected this maroon didn't think.
At the risk of sounding racist, here is the "thought process" involved:
Skin color? Check.
Democrat? Check.

Oh, yeah, and this type of forum design, where you have to enter HTML tags in order to format your post properly, blows. Isn't there a better type of forum or bulletin board software out there where you don't have to be an HTML wizard to use it? And I'd like to be notified of replies to my posts, too.

We’re talking about a debt ceiling and what these Republican tea partiers are doing is digging a hole down in the basement so deep that there certainly is no semblance of a safety net down there."This guy is a jackass. Two points:
1) Shifting income? That's what Socialist societies do. People who believe in personal responsibility (i.e. Government staying the heck out of our business) earn their income, they don't have it "shifted" from the more "fortunate" to the less "fortunate." And it certainly isn't "shifting" from the poor and middle class to the "rich." Unless you count the Government as "rich." Say, Rep. Johnson, why don't you put your not inconsiderable amount of money where your mouth is?
2) Why would you need a safety net in the basement? That's like saying Guam could tip over if the population got too big. Oh, wait....
And yes, Rep. Jackson, we do want to dismantle the government. When you find termites in your structure, you have to rip out the diseased wood and replace it. You, sir, are a termite. And it's time to start rebuilding the structure of our House. And Senate, too. And the White House. It's a terminal infestation of socialists. Get out the jackhammers and prybars, boys and girls! As Ben Grimm used to say, "It's clobberin' time!"

Is Hank Johnson (D) preaching to the rest of us about morals while standing behind him is John Conyers (D) whose wife is in prison for graft and fraud?
I sure hope that stage doesn't sink under the weight of irony.
