Daily Kos Week in Review: Paying Their Disrespects

March 3rd, 2012 8:13 AM

Several Kossacks weighed in viciously this past week on Andrew Breitbart's death, life, and, in more than one case, his afterlife. The DKos gang gave Rick Santorum the standard knocking-around as well.

As usual, each headline is preceded by the blogger's name or pseudonym.

MisterOpus1: Breitbart was a 'piece of s--t'...

...There is always a certain modicum of respect that is given to those who recently pass away. That respect is apparently given to anyone, even those whom we do not respect.

I'm sorry, but Breitbart doesn't even qualify for that. He was a complete piece of shit, ripe full of vitriolic hate for anyone who disagreed with his views...[N]ot only did he despise anything progressive or liberal, not only did he deliberately obfuscate and outright lie with both his words and postings of edited videos about us and groups that help our cause, he willingly attempted and successfully destroyed lives and reputations in the process.

And the smug bastard smiled while doing it.

...I do apologize to those I offend by this, if that means something to others, but I really don't see this any other way...

Laffy: ...who either deserves to go to hell...

...Andrew was EXACTLY what is WRONG with this country:  Telling COMPLETE LIES to DESTROY people for political gain.

FUCK HIM.

Hope he's BURNING right now in a special seat in hell just for him.

Leftwing Noise Machine: ...or is already there...

...[W]e at the Left-Wing Noise Machine have a right (nay, a duty) to celebrate the demise of Andrew Breitbart, a man who, if Yeats were alive, would have been the reference to the poet’s line in “The Second Coming: “the worst/ Are full of passionate intensity”...

...Breitbart’s merciful death...probably represents a rare instance of divine justice at work in the world...

...We are all better off now that he and his ugly rhetoric have gone to the skating rink in hell.

The Sinistral: ...and whose passing leaves the world a better place

...Andrew Breitbart was a brutal, revolting, disgusting piece of trash who undermined this country and represented the worst of American politics. None of us will ever have to worry about the workings of his evil ways again. He is done. He will be remembered not for whatever good was in him but for being a destroyer of our way of life. He wasted his life and made our lives that much harder. The world is better off and brighter without him. Good riddance.

...I don't support dancing on other people's graves.

Rather, Breitbart's passing is a one-time occasion to condemn him for the evil he did to this world, and then to let go of our resentment of him for his crimes. With these few words I hereby accomplish exactly that, at least for myself. The people who say "now isn't the time" or "it isn't respectful" can go suck a lemon...

MikeMcShea: Santorum is a hateful fascist...

...[W]hen this new Globalism, this new fascist hate, this new Vatican nationalism just oozes out of Rick Santorum in his wife beater style fashionista sweater, I really am offended by the crock of political/religious double speak, cross-coded hate speak running not out of his anus but proudly and arrogantly from his mouth...

...[T]his Pius IX Vatican nationalism revivalism that you mouth, this new catholic speak and the vomiting on the one Catholic President this country has had, it is too much!  S---- you and the corporate limousine you rode into town on!...

SuzieQ4624: ...who condescends to women

...[W]omen...don't like being talked down to by some slimeball Puritan in a sweater vest...

...Instead of trying desperately to prove to female voters that you know women who don't think of you as a woman-hating, backward thinking asshat, maybe try not being a woman-hating, backward thinking asshat next time and women won't come to that conclusion about you...
