ABC 'Grey's Anatomy' Star Trashes CBS for Too-White Emmy Telecast

An ABC star is trashing CBS for its Emmy-show telecast being too white. “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo (who plays Dr. Meredith Grey)  told the Associated Press she was “really disappointed” by host Neil Patrick Harris being surrounded by white dancers.

"I didn't see any diversity in the Emmys at all. The Emmys felt so dated to me," she said in an interview Monday. "... That dance number was embarrassing. Did you see one person of color in that dance number?"

Pompeo’s show is made by African-American producer/writer Shonda Rhimes, and Pompeo proclaimed the diversity of the cast is one of “her favorite things” about the show. "I'm extremely proud of our very, very diverse cast which represents the world that I walk around in every day.”

This doesn’t mean the cast has an actor who plays a conservative. Hollywood doesn’t really admire that kind of diversity. The online CBS story on its own failure in front of liberals shows Pompeo at a Los Angeles fundraiser for the Children’s Defense Fund.
