Obama's Official Easter Eggs Will Be More Eco-Friendly

Penny Starr at our sister site CNSNews.com noticed how even the Easter Egg Roll under the Obamas need a sheen of political correctness:

The White House announced Monday that this year’s Easter Egg Roll will be “more environmentally friendly,” with eggs made ofwood certified by an environmental activist organization and packaging that will “minimize waste and environmental impact.”

The press release issued by the White House states that the eggs will be produced in the United States from hardwood “certified” by the Forest Stewardship Council, a non-profit organization with a presence in 50 countries and a mission “to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.”

The “greener” packaging for the eggs – available in purple, pink, green and yellow – is made from paperboard certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. The paperboard “uses no wood fibers from controversial sources” and the printed carton the egg comes in can be recycled. The packaging is also decorated with vegetable oil-based inks and water-based coatings.

Foxnews.com underlined "the official 2011 White House Easter egg logo stars an anthropomorphized bunny clothed in workout gear, hopping for joy. This year's logo follows the trend from 2010, which featured the same active rabbit in a jogging pose."

Speaking of Michelle Obama, the New York Daily News and others in the pro-Obama press were scandalized that a caller to the Rush Limbaugh show ripped the First Lady's fashion sense: "Every time [Michelle] dresses in yellow, I keep expecting some little kid to pop up and say, 'She looks like a bowl of mustard...She never seems to look classy," the husky-voiced caller continued.  "She never seems to wear her clothes with any finesse or flair. She just seems to march around like a lumberjack."
