Day Two: CBS Continues to Censor Powell Saying Bill Clinton Is ‘D**king Bimbos’

CBS is still too embarrassed to share with viewers the low opinion Colin Powell has of Bill Clinton. On Wednesday, CBS This Morning edited a quote of hacked e-mails, removing Powell’s description of Mr. Clinton as a “a husband still dicking bimbos at home.” On Thursday morning, the network stuck to the script and avoided the comment.

In contrast, Norah O’Donnell found time to discuss Powell (in the e-mails) calling Trump a “national disgrace.” She explained, “Donald Trump has responded to Colin Powell's e-mails that show Powell has a low opinion of the candidate.”

Earlier in the program, the CBS co-hosts played a clip of late night comedian Seth Meyers, a competitor over on NBC, playing up the Trump angle:

SETH MEYERS: Hacked e-mails from former Secretary of State Colin Powell show he recently referred to Donald Trump as a national disgrace and an international pariah. Said Trump, “Listen, I love pariah. I have all of her albums!”

Yet, the general’s low opinion of President Clinton never came up on the morning show On Wednesday's CBS Evening News, Nancy Cordes also avoided the “dicking bimbos” remark. Instead, she focused on other e-mails: “His comments about Donald Trump were even more scathing. ‘Trump is a national disgrace and an international pariah.’”

Though Cordes noted Powell’s dismissal of Hillary Clinton as an arrogant “screw up,” she avoided the more incendiary material.

On NBC’s Today show, Tuesday, Andrea Mitchell vaguely got around to the general’s assessment of Bill Clinton:

ANDREA MITCHELL: In a July 2014 e-mail, Powell, who had endorsed President Obama, reveals he's fought sure about supporting Clinton. Powell writing, “I would rather not have to vote for her, although she is a friend I respect,” describing her as having “a lock track record, unbridled ambition, greedy, not transformational.” Powell then used crude language in referencing tabloid reports about Bill Clinton

Unsurprisingly, ABC’s Good Morning America, hosted by former Bill Clinton aide George Stephanopoulos, also avoided Powell’s blunt assessment of the ex-president.
