July 18th, 2016 8:40 PM

Now that Stephen Colbert is no longer pretending to be a conservative caricature, he’s can barely restrain his liberal love. Appearing on Access Hollywood, Monday, the Late Show host rhapsodized about the “nuclear core of passion,” Elizabeth Warren. Colbert previewed his GOP bashing for the Republican convention. “I'm really excited on the night Trump accepts the nomination. We have Elizabeth Warren to be here to rebut Mr. Trump's speech. She will be my guest that night. Talk about burning the place down, that woman can talk.”

Colbert gushed, “You talk to Elizabeth Warren, especially when you talk about Donald Trump, the side of your body that was facing her feels vaguely singed. Like she's a nuclear core of passion.”

Of course, Colbert sneered about Trump: “He actually looks like he went in without goggles to try to take the slag out of Chernobyl.”

Previously, Colbert hyped that Warren “has launched a one-woman crusade against the billionaire class” and is “like Batman, but her enemy is Bruce Wayne.”

STEPHEN COLBERT: I'm really excited on the night Trump accepts the nomination. We have Elizabeth Warren to be here to rebut Mr. Trump's speech. She will be my guest that night. Talk about burning the place down, that woman can talk.

ELIZABETH WARREN: Donald Trump is a loud nasty thin skinned fraud who has never risked anything for anyone!

COLBERT: You talk to Elizabeth Warren, especially when you talk about Donald Trump, the side of your body that was facing her feels vaguely singed. Like she’s a nuclear core of passion.

SCOTT EVANS (Access Hollywood): You can tell when the side of Donald Trump is —

COLBERT: You can't tell which side of him. He actually looks like he went in without goggles to try to take the slag out of Chernobyl. I don't think it's makeup. I think it’s actually — He's a hot spot. You should wear a Hazmat suit around him.
