New Conservative TV Host Argues Crime Is Reason Enough to Be Careful About Amnesty Bills

What do the murder of a 93-year-old woman in South Omaha, Nebraska, and the repeated rape of a 13-year-old girl in Austin, Texas, have in common? Both crimes were committed by people who are in this country illegally and should be deported -- along with all other illegal immigrants -- before a proposed bill in Congress would give them amnesty and allow them to “come out of the shadows” to become American citizens.

That's the position taken by Graham Ledger, conservative host of the weeknight program The Daily Ledger, which airs at 8 p.m. on the One America News Network. The Emmy Award-winning news reporter has an interesting motto: “Even when I'm wrong, I'm right.”

Ledger called the alleged criminals “scum” and “animals” during recent segments in his program called “Final Thoughts,” when the newsman provides his perspective on a news story of interest.

He began a recent commentary by pointing to Omaha, where “an elderly woman has died. She was 93 years old,” and the passing of Louise Sollowin came “after being raped and beaten.”

According to a report on Omaha.com, a police officer sent to check on the woman found her covered in blood in her bedroom. Her cheekbones, nose and several teeth were broken during the ordeal.

Ledger continued his discussion by stating: “A suspect is in custody. He's only 19 years old. His name is Sergio Perez. He apparently speaks no English, and guess what? He's in the country illegally. He's apparently only been in the country for a few months.”

The police stated that they discovered Perez nude, asleep and on top of the woman. He admitted that he'd committed the horrific crime “because he was angry at women after a night of drinking.”

The conservative host then stated:

How nice. He arrives here uninvited from another country, and he brutally attacks and kills one of us. Hopefully, if found guilty in our justice system, Perez will never enjoy the freedom that America “affords.”

“But what about Louise and her family?” he asked. “What about 'her' freedom? What about all her grandchildren? She's gone, unfortunately.

“But you know what?” Ledger continued. “This scum --  Perez -- would have been a prime candidate for U.S. citizenship under the proposed immigration bill” that many say would provide amnesty to individuals who broke the law when entering the country.

After noting that Perez was “a predator prior to the attack,” the host said he is “among the millions of illegals that the White House wants to 'emerge from the shadows' and become American citizens.”

How many Perezes are there, in the shadows? What we need to do is begin requiring the use of E-Verify to identify the illegals and deport them, all of them!

Ledger turned to the topic of illegal immigration during another broadcast when he stated that “out of Texas” had come “a horrible nightmare for a teenage girl in Austin.”

“A 13-year-old girl was gang-raped,” he stated. “She was attacked repeatedly at an apartment complex. Police say the attack took place over several hours. As many as a dozen men committed the crime.

“According to the victim, they took turns abusing her over and over again,” Ledger added.

“Police have two suspects in custody: 25-year-old Juan Lozana Ortega and 26-year old Edgar Gerardo Guzman Perez,” he stated. “Both are in this country illegally” while “the other 10 or so are still on the loose” and “are believed to be illegal aliens.”

This is a horrible crime. That girl will never be the same. These criminals deserve deportation and prison in their native countries.

“But think about it,” he said. “Each of these men, prior to committing this crime, were all candidates -- under the new 'wonderful' immigration bill -- to become U.S. citizens.

“That's right,” Ledger noted. “These animals from another country who brutally attacked a little girl are the exact beneficiaries of the immigration bill being pushed by the White House and Democrats.

“If this case isn't enough to get you to get up and call Congress, and stop this threat to national sovereignty and security, I don't know what is,” he concluded.

According to its website, the One America News Network -- a web-based channel that was launched on July 4, Independence Day -- is intended to deliver “unbiased, substantive national and international news 24/7” and provide “informative coverage on topics that impact your lives” through its “in-depth, thought-provoking line-up.”

If Ledger's viewpoint on illegal immigration is any indication, it won't be long before the “tolerant” liberals in the news media start shooting slings and arrows at the network for daring to provide a perspective on the news that's different from their own biased outlook.
