Julianne Moore Praises Tina Fey and Katie Couric for Making 'Significant Difference in 2008 Election'

It certainly was no surprise that HBO's schlockudrama "Game Change" won best TV movie at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards.

But when Julianne Moore accepted her award for best actress for her role in said piece of detritus, it was truly sick-making hearing her say, "I'd like to give a shoutout to two people who I think made a significant difference in 2008 election, Tina Fey and Katie Couric" (video follows with commentary):

So, in the course of roughly five minutes, Hollywood once again celebrated its attack on Sarah Palin while congratulating those at the heart of it.

First there was the predictable spectacle of the schlockudrama winning another award.

Then, its director Jay Roach in his acceptance speech praised Moore for being "so brave" to take the part.

Excuse me - what's brave about getting paid millions of dollars to act?

Even worse, Roach couldn't accept the award without taking a shot at Palin saying of Moore, "Now with you and Tina Fey we have three of the most incredible impersonations of Sarah Palin counting Sarah Palin."

Hysterical.

This nicely set up Moore to praise Fey and Couric when her award was announced minutes later.

What did Fey and Couric do in 2008?

They used their television platforms to take down a vice presidential candidate whose views they disagreed with.

It really is quite a world we live in today where media figures conspire to defeat their political rivals and then not only get millions of dollars for doing so, but also are bestowed significant praise by their colleagues.
