CNN's David Gergen: 'President Obama Played 105 Rounds of Golf Only One With a Republican'

David Gergen made a rather startling observation on CNN's Fareed Zakaria GPS Sunday.

Out of 105 rounds of golf that President Obama played since he was first inaugurated, only one was with a Republican (video follows with transcript and commentary):

DAVID GERGEN: And on the question of governance, I do think that the President needs to learn from some of the troubles he’s been having is that he’s still remote even to Democratic figures, but he needs to, he needs to develop personal relationships. Governing is not just about going out around the country barnstorming in favor of your policies as much as the President wants to do this his second term. It’s also being affective inside Washington on the inside game.

Ed Luce in the Financial Times pointed out the other day the President played 105 rounds of golf in his, since he’s been in office, only one with a Republican.

It is indeed fascinating how comfortable liberal media members have been citing the President's shortcomings now that he's won re-election.

Wouldn't it have been nice if they would have done so the past four years?

Or would that have been too much like journalism?
